Maybe a bib type apron instead of a t shirt. Apron? Geez. Let's just make 'em pregnant and in the kitchen while we're at it, hmmmm? I'm not a t-shirt fan in general. But I would prefer the women's cut if I had to get one.

I don’t like unisex tees. They tend to be too long, boxy, sleeves too long and overall unflattering.

I like unisex better as I feel women's cut fit tighter. I won't wear a shirt that is tight. Yeah. I find the women’s cut shirts I’ve tried to be inconsistent for sizing and usually tight and then I wonder about sizing way up - but what if that one is correct sizing then it’s huge… It’s safer for me to just do unisex and I know how it’s going to fit. But if it isn’t the soft kind where the sleeves don’t point out straight I’m throwing that crap in the trash .

I don't like how snug the women's cut t shirts are. I also don't like the high neckline on the unisex because it feels like it's choking me. If I had to pick I would pick unisex but overall I try to find a loose fitting v neck for any personalized type of shirt I make.

I have several craft aprons to protect my clothes from the various inks, paints, and chemicals. I have ruined several shirts over the years. When it happens, my first thought is "We're going to have a discussion".

For me, as an overweight woman, the women’s cuts are shorter than I like and the sleeves aren’t long enough. I prefer a longer v-neck with short slits on the sides. When looking into getting t-shirts made before I saw some companies that allow for different types of shirts with the same design, so you could have men’s women’s and children. That might put the cost up some, I don’t remember, but at least half the people wouldn’t throw it away and never wear it again.

100% cotton in the women's shirt.

I hate men's and unisex T-shirts. I hate the neckline and the longer torso and the boxy fit. I only wear those to bed, and then only if they were free and aren't too thick and the neck isn't tight.

Personally, I wouldn't do t-shirts at all. Will they ever get worn again? Probably not or not much, and they will have no second-hand value and will just end up in landfill. I believe it is ridiculously wasteful to produce a garment that gets used once then discarded if there is an alternative.
You don't say what the retreat is for other than women and church. If the t-shirts are for identification and everyone has to wear them, then use wrist-bands instead. If they are gifts, then give a consumable instead, like a choice between a bottle of wine (if appropriate to your retreat), confectionary, home-baked goods, gift cards etc. There would still be some waste, but nothing like the t-shirts.

Women's cut shirts tend to be too short and too tight across the stomach area. I'd choose the unisex ones if I had the choice.

Women's cut always feel too tight. I hate v neck and prefer a mild scoop. Crew neck can be too tight as well
Are they going to be required to wear them? Because depending on how the shirt fit me that could cause lots of anxiety.

Ona church retreat one year I received a cross bracelet with a leather strap, another year it was a stainless water bottle, and one year it was a reusable shopping bag. The bottle and bag had the scripture theme on them.

I like the unisex cut, but definitely a soft shirt. You could get a shirt like Gildan Softstyle. Those are currently my favorite.

I don’t like unisex. Too close in the shoulders and waist for me. I will buy only women’s cut.

Unless the attendees will wear the shirts at the event, I’d probably go for that or a consumable.

Women's, a bit longer not just at the waist, not boxy but not snug. I agree men's shirts are choking.

If you do pick a women’s cut, let people know so they can size up if desired.
I personally hate women’s cuts…as someone with a small chest that still has some baby weight in the midsection 😅

Like others have said, you are safest going with unisex since you will likely have a wide variety of shapes and sizes. A unisex shirt can be sized down (if they know it will be unisex) and it can be cut/tied/worn as a tunic. Women's cut, like has been mentioned, often does not fit certain sizes/shapes well and can be more varied in how they will fit.

I picked unisex because of my body shape. The women’s cut hugs my chest way too tight and just makes the girls stand out. I prefer a looser fit to give more room under the boobs.

Unless the apron had ruffles and a big tied bow on the back I don't see it as representing pregnant and in the kitchen. I'd much rather have a work apron that a tee shirt.

they make unisex cuts with a v-neck and soft fabric - I've had a couple I love. This would be my vote.

I did end up going with a unisex t-shirt. The retreat was a couple weekends ago and I’m happy to report that I’ve seen lots of ladies wearing it after the retreat including my teenager who is super picky. I kept the design super simple with just a flower and a couple words so I do believe it can be donated and reworn.

T-shirts have got such a wide range of fit and materials and most of my friends and I are super picky about them. I don’t like high necks because they feel claustrophobic, but I am really chesty so I don’t like some V necks because they are too revealing. I think a craft-style apron is a great idea. don, I really like your new avatar with your queen in it.❤️🥰❤️

I find it really interesting that in the poll more people voted for women’s cut but in the thread more people voiced an opinion (and reasons) for the unisex cut! I have a bunch of retreat t-shirts that I wear all the time in the summer. Some of them are a decade or more old!

I'd skip the t-shirts.
I have a ton of t-shirts that were made for one specific event or another. They are good to wear for the event and then never wear again. These shirts are going to end up in the landfill eventually. The amount of one-use t-shirts people make is crazy.
But if you must, my preference is v-neck men's cut.
