I’m putting together a women’s retreat and want to do tshirts for it. I don’t personally like the way the unisex shirts fit. For me it’s a sensory thing, not as soft and the neckline “chokes” me. But I was talking to one of the girls helping today and she said she hates women’s cut. What would you prefer? Just trying to get an idea so I can go with the general consensus.

I think you should poll the women going, though you ask 10 people what they like - you might get 10 different answers!
I don’t personally even wear short sleeved t-shirts, I find them very unflattering. I wear tanks, or 3/4 sleeve or long sleeve. A short sleeved crew neck is the worst on me. I’d like a boat neck baseball style tee with 3/4 sleeves. Haha see how difficult I am??

At first I thought the 3rd choice would be about length..
Women’s cut, man’s cut, I don’t much care, I’m a bit fluffy anyway. But I do prefer a longer shirt than a shorter one and ones specifically marketed towards women tend to be too short for my liking. I wear men’s polo shirts because A they are longer & B they get a pocket on the chest women’s polos rarely have a pocket.
And yes softer is also better.

I have previously asked those I know that are going about food preferences etc and not gotten any decent feedback.

I like unisex better as I feel women's cut fit tighter. I won't wear a shirt that is tight.

I hate a woman’s cut tshirt for these type of shirts. They don’t fit my girls right, I have wide shoulders, and a large torso. I much prefer the unisex shirts for these events.

See everyone here is different - I might skip the shirts if I were you.
A unisex boxy tee would only be worn by me to sleep in.

Could you offer a choice? I typically don't like women's cuts because the sleeves are too short.
ETA: they make unisex cuts with a v-neck and soft fabric - I've had a couple I love.

I absolutely hate women cut t-shirts and never buy them. Mens all the way.

Women's cut shirts also tend to run small, meaning a lot of women are sized out from getting them.
Is there a way you can offer attendees a choice? You'll need to get sizes from them no matter what.

Given the choice, I would pick a women’s cut t-shirt. But, if I have to wear a men’s t-shirt, I get a Large so that it is long enough to wear with leggings and have it cover my butt.

They will fill out a sign up form and put their size on there. It’s for a church retreat but we have invited other churches hence no way to poll them. Plus we still have time for sign ups so I anticipate our numbers will double.

Men’s shirts. Women’s shirts sleeves are too short and the chest too tight.

Have you ever cut them? I cut the neck out of all my tshirts to wherever I want it to be. I cut the cuff off the sleeve, too.

Maybe a bib type apron instead of a t shirt.

Women's cut tend to be both short and tight, not my preference. I vote for unisex.

I agree with many - unisex cut is much more comfy, and they also usually come in a wider size range. My very favorite are the Bella Canvas unisex V-necks.

I am a J cup, so women's cut never fit right. Unisex are more forgiving.

My biggest issue with any type of t-shirt is the length. I like them long enough to cover my big butt, but often they are cut too narrow and dip in which is incredibly unflattering. There are so many different cuts in t-shirts, both men’s and women’s.

I am a smaller person, so I prefer women’s cut, but no V-neck. I can’t stand V-necks. Unisex ones are usually too boxy and long for me.

I hate women’s cut shirts because they’re cut too snug across the belly even on the bigger sizes, they’re too short in the body length so they don’t cover my butt and the sleeves are always too short. If that’s my only option, I usually won’t get one.
I also hate regular unisex crew neck shirts because I always feel like they’re choking me, but at least the sleeves and body are a good length.
My preference will always be a unisex cut V neck but that’s almost never an option. I still sometimes buy crew neck shirts if I like the design or for an event because I can alter them myself to be a V neck.
There are unisex shirts that are nice quality and soft. They just cost more money and a lot of times people doing shirts for an event tend to go cheap to keep the cost down.

I don't like the sleeve length of women's shirts, I prefer more coverage.

If I were you I would just order unisex crew neck t shirts and not worry too much about it. The answers are all over the place on this thread and I’m sure that would be the case if you polled the ladies who are attending your retreat. I say unisex because the women’s cuts are generally not flattering on larger ladies.

For something like a retreat, I think I would prefer a men's / unisex t-shirt that is a looser fit and will cover my bum. Women's fit t-shirts tend to be tighter and smaller, which I feel a lot of average or larger sized women will not like.
I also don't like higher necklines, because I feel choked, and also I don't like the way I look. But I would prefer the higher neckline of a unisex shirt instead of a tighter fitting women's shirt.

For me personally, it depends on the day and the event.
For something like this I'd like them order size and cut or I'd go with unisex. When I was heavier than I am now, I hated women's cut because I felt even fatter than usual in it

If it’s not an extremely soft tshirt I don’t want it. That’s the only way I’d wear a boxy unisex/men’s tshirt. I prefer a women’s fitted tshirt preferably v-neck.

Womem's shirts tend to be the thickness of tissue paper and I hate that. I would like a soft shirt with a non-choking neckline.
