LSU travels to Oxford to take on Ole Miss. This game could go either way so I'm hoping for the best!
I remember fondly the Ole Miss panty raids back in the day with many hundreds of freshman boys storming the girl's dorms chanting WE WANT PANTIES! We were threatened with expulsion if we threw our panties out the window. And there was always the chanting of GO TO HELL OLE MISS, GO TO HELL from the Tiger faithful as the Ole Miss fans chanted right back at us.
Who does your team play?
GEAUX TIGERS!

Huskers host the Wolverines. We will lose. I just hope we play well and make it respectable.
I forgot: Go Big Red!

Hotty Toddy!!!Obviously a big rivalry game for Ole Miss this weekend! Fingers crossed we come away with a win. Miss State is hosting Alabama this week. Not expecting much but we are always hopeful. I remember fondly the Ole Miss panty raids back in the day with many hundreds of freshman boys storming the girl's dorms chanting WE WANT PANTIES! Panty raids were so much fun!!! The real fun was to dangle out sexy panties, get a large group of boys below, then dump a wastebasket of water on them! 😈 Fun was had by both sides! Seems quite provincial compared to how things are 50 years later. Were panty raids not a thing at other campuses back in the 60s and 70s?

Were panty raids not a thing at other campuses back in the 60s and 70s? I think it was probably just in the south but I could be wrong. Funny story: my mom sewed a name label in all my clothes. I was missing a girdle after the panty raids and I was terrified someone had thrown it out a window. Weeks later I found it but in the mean time I kept waiting to be called to the Dean's office.

Purdue hosts Illinois. I'm trying to remain optimistic but it's hard to do. Our prior coach took most of the really good players with him when he left. It is a rebuilding year for sure. It is homecoming and we thought we were going to attend the game but we are watching the grandsons so now we need to find someplace to watch it because it is on Peacock which we don't get.
Boiler Up!

My Oklahoma Sooners are playing Iowa State in Norman on Saturday night. We’ll be at the game. It should be an easy win, although I hope they don’t take Iowa State for granted. I worry that they might be looking ahead to next week’s game w/ Texas in the Cotton Bowl.
BOOMER!

Georgia goes to Auburn tomorrow. We're close enough to drive so we're going with a few people from our tailgate group. Should be a long, but fun, day! Gooo DAWGS!

As Susie_Homemaker said, it's Auburn hosting Georgia Saturday. I hope you have a great time Susie, I sure wish I could be there.
I am expecting a big ole stomping. I hope I'm at least surprised with some decent scoring out of us but not holding my breath.
WAR EAGLE!!!

Michigan State's first road game v Iowa. Our coach was officially transitioned from suspended to fired, so players have 30 days to enter the portal. All the switching of teams is complicated enough, tough decisions for these kids.

We received an interesting email from the OU athletic office earlier in the week about OU’s move to the SEC next year. There is going to be a lot of seat shuffling in our stadium after this season to bring as us in compliance w/ SEC rules. Our student section currently extends to about the 40 yard line. Under the SEC rules, the student section cannot be inside the 30 yard line, so the student section will be moved down towards the end zone and will go higher than it currently goes. Also, the Big 12 requires each school to make 2500 tickets available to visiting teams, while the SEC requires that 5000 be made available to visiting teams, 2;000 of which must be in the lower bowl.
The section my husband and I sit in will not be affected by the new rules, but a lot of sections will be affected. Ordinary fans like myself don’t think about all the changes which come when you join a new conference!
Texas and Oklahoma did negotiate a deal with the SEC allowing OU and Texas to continue to play the OU-Texas game at a neutral site (the Cotton Bowl) with tickets between the two schools split evenly down the 50 yard line.

Fox Big Noon, hype, and USC in Boulder today. CU is 0-16 against USC never mind how they’re playing currently. Would like a good game at least, but it’s a beautiful day so watching for scenery shots this morning lol. 🖤💛🦬
Utah Tech 1-3 is in Fort Collins later today against CSU 1-2. Dd is wearing her new green and gold overalls and going to the game. Hoping she has fun! 💚💛🐏
Well CU put up a decent fight!!
Adding an 🧡 for CSU because it’s Aggie day!

HOTTY TODDY!!! Ole Miss beat LSU 55-49! What a game!!! Sorry to cadoodlebug for the loss, but you have to admit that was a heck of a game - especially the 4th quarter. Pretty sure those last 2 minutes took a few years off of my life though.

It was worse than I thought it would be. Michigan is solid. At least the fans in our section were real nice.

My Oklahoma Sooners beat Iowa State 50-20.
We got home from the OU game in time to watch the end of the Duke-Notre Dame game. What an exciting 4th quarter!

We are almost home from the game. It was a real nail biter! Frankly, neither of our defenses were great, which is why it was back and forth so much. We were luck at the end. ETA: There were several “mixed” families around us. The season ticket holder family who normally sits in front of us was dressed with the men in LSU colors and the women in Ole Miss colors and the woman next to me said her husband is a huge LSU fan, but he couldn’t come. Our section is near the visitor section, and the LSU fans were really enthusiastic; I always enjoy their band.

Purdue won! They finally put two good halves together. There were some really good games yesterday. The Duke game was a heartbreaker.

While DH started at Ole Miss, he finished at Miss. State. My dad and sisters went to Miss. State. My youngest niece is the only other one to attend Ole Miss so I finally have company! The worst are the families that were fine until the SEC starting taking in other teams. My BFF is A&M while her DH is LSU - and he is one of the rabid LSU fans! None of our neighbors were SEC and now it seems like they all are (A&M, Texas, Oklahoma). It's sure made football season a bit more interesting!

I married into an Ole Miss family, but I went to State for grad school, and I grew up with USM parents. DD goes and I went to Millsaps. We have Ole Miss season tickets, so we go to Oxford for most home games, and I go to Millsaps games to watch DD’s pep band during one or two away weeks each season.

Georgia/Auburn is always an interesting game and this one did not disappoint! Winning in the last few minutes definitely gets my heart rate up! I checked it on my watch during (just for fun) and it was 109! I will say that whoever does traffic control in Auburn before and after the games is failing miserably. We were tailgating about 1.2 miles from the stadium and since it was hot thought we'd hop on the shuttle bus for a nice air-conditioned ride over. Worst.mistake.ever. We were trapped on that bus for 1 hour! The buses have to go with all of the other traffic and it was awful. We didn't see one person directing traffic before or after the game. Our poor bus driver is not allowed to let people off the bus, and people were getting ugly. Lesson learned! Walking is always the best option in Auburn!
