The majority of posts I see are positive-- people praising a local business, and then everyone else chimes in with their great experiences with said business. There are the wildlife sightings, of course. And lost dogs/cats. People irate about fireworks.
The weirdest one I ever saw was someone who felt that the world was rotating noticeably faster than usual and wondering if anyone else noticed it too. Amazingly, there were a couple other people who also claimed extreme sensitivity to geo-physical phenomena, including gravity pulling harder than usual.

I get an email when a new post shows up but I rarely go there anymore. I don't need to know the crazy that is around me. And so much of it isn't around me...so many neighborhoods on mine that aren't close to me at all.
Lots of coyote posts. And lost pets. And people needing money. Kids in hoodies.
We live pretty close to Ft Hood (Ft Cavazos) and at least once a week when they are playing war someone will post and say they are new to the area and what is that noise that sounds like bombing and there will be the usual 400 replies of "the sound of freedom".
I like our Facebook group much better. It's actually helpful and there's still some crazy but not nearly as bad as ND.

Ours has turned into a why were the cops driving down xyz road. And don't get me started on the number of people whos car has been stolen and they don't understand why them. One lady last weekend had video of it happening from her neighbor. Her story just wasn't making sense. Finally came out that the car was unlocked and it was running. Which is how the kid go in, in a matter of seconds and was gone. Sorry, if you are stupid enough to start your that's parked on the street away from your house and go back inside, you are just asking for it to be taken. And then not to understand why it's gone and the police won't do anything. Just want to tell her, lady you live in Minneapolis. The handful of cops that are actually still on the force after the past couple of years have bigger issues than to search for your car that you pretty much just handed to the thieves.

This wasn't on my next door, but my brothers. His neighbor posted that there was something weird out by their mailbox. They had gone up close to look at it, couldn't identify it, and wondered if they should call the cops. This went on for a couple hours, and finally they posted a picture of the object.
It was a TURTLE.

In Florida, we get a lot of "What kind of snake/bug/lizard is this?" I wish I could find the funny website devoted to whacked-out Nextdoor posts. One of them was, "Who keeps farting in my mailbox?"

Lots of lost pet posts. And posts asking for recommendations for different services or medical care, or asking for someone to mow their lawn or clear the snow. Some discussions about what’s being built or what has closed/opened at some location. Some posts describing their needs and asking for help.
I actually found the guy/business who cleared my snow last winter and has done some yard work for me on ND. I’ve been very happy with him, and a friend has also hired his business when she needed someone to take over mowing her lawn.

Yeah here there are so many"suspicious people." Sort of --there's this guy in a brown uniform that went to a neighbor's house, he had a brown truck and his uniform said UPS-you think is casing the place lol
These poeple have nothing better to do.
Then there are ones that the title sounds "juicy."
I open it and get " This post has been removed."

There is a guy in a nearby neighborhood that treats ND like FB. So annoying.
Many, MANY lost/found dogs/cats.
Strangers claiming to work for companies going door to door…

Next Door is like 2PEAS threads gone awry 100% of the time. I peruse it once in awhile for info and amusement. This one from yesterday really killed me. He's so worried about the EMF, but he doesn't realize he just broadcast his full address to the ND world.

I'm not on Next Door, buy my town's local Facebook Group page reads just like your OP, DEX. Add in posts about why people are walking through anyone's yard at any time. And why people dare to come to anyone's door. Also, many, many complaints about drivers as well as road construction. We're obsessed with road construction. And 7 billion posts asking for recommendations of local services/tradespeople/businesses. All of which bring about comments on why everyone else's suggestions are wrong, of course. And lastly, posts asking why we just all can't get along. As if that would ever happen.

I don't. I blocked it. The guy who was the admin would harass me because I didn't agree with something he posted. He tried to out me on ND and had people pile on. I used another email and name to try to get him to leave me alone but he found out and then outed me by telling everyone I was "so and so". I reported him to the site but they didn't do anything. I have NOT missed it one bit. Most people on there are only there to bitch about this neighbor or that neighbor. I don't need it.
