Going back to Dublin for a few nights - any recommendations of where to stay walking distance to restaurants and shops?
My feeling is to be in Temple Bar area, but open to other ideas. So far I have one recommendation for the Temple Bar Inn.
Thanks peas!!

We stayed at The Morgan last year. Great location, good service, large room and very clean. They had a nice lounge area where we enjoyed a glass of wine. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, but had some bar snacks which were very good. www.themorgan.com/en/#home/

We stayed at the Westburya few years ago. It was lovely, and the location is excellent.

I have stayed at the Drury Court Hotel a few times and have always enjoyed my stay. It is walking distance to pretty much everywhere - I travel on foot any time I am in Dublin and we went to the Temple Bar area, Trinity College, St Patrick's Cathedral - basically all the things... I know you didn't ask but a neat restaurant is The Church - the renovation from church to restaurant is pretty cool and quite unique I think.

These are great! Looking at each one now
(And yes restaurant recommendations also welcome - I went to The Ivy last time - and will hopefully go back)

If you’re looking for fine dining, try Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud. 2 (I think) Michelin stars and its to die for.

The Morrison is in a very good location, just across the river from Temple Bar and near both transit and HOHO bus stops.

We stayed at The Grafton Hotel last month. Great location, nice amenities walking distance to many restaurants. Hotel had great breakfast bar, which is the only meal we ate there.

We stayed at Buswells Hotel, halfway between Trinity College (Book of Kells) and St Stephen's Green, a few minutes walk to each. I would stay there again. We also walked easily to Grafton Street. It's a 17 minute walk to Temple Bar. We walked across O'Connell Bridge and up to the Post Office. It's also close the train station. The National History Museum (Archeology) and Natural History are across the street. The Merrion Square Park with Oscar Wilde's statue is just beyond that. We walked everywhere except Kilmainham Gaol (highly recommended) which was a 4 km walk. We took a taxi there.

It's not a hotel but we stayed here. This is an Irish Landmark Trust property, very well situated. It's perhaps one door down from the French Embassy, which is kind of awesome if you need to take a cab home. "The French Embassy, please" will get you there. There are a few great, local (not touristy) pubs in extremely easy walking distance, as well as a couple of groceries. It was thoroughly delightful and when we return, this is the first place we'll check for availability if Dublin is on the list. Merrion Mews

we stayed at the Handels Hotel near Temple Bar area. Not fancy but very clean, reasonably priced, and close to everything we needed to walk to and bus transportation
