Hi everyone! I'm trying to make this a better week than last! Lot's to do ... really need to get things squared away for my mum ... ex is going to her place again today to do some real estate stuff ... and hopefully hang some pictures for her ... he'll never get away from being the SIL . I also need him to take photos of her dining room set (that is almost brand new!) and a storage rack and then send them to me so that I can list them on FB Marketplace to sell ... she won't have room for them in her new place ... I'm about to leave to meet my mum for breakfast at Denny's ... she won't be going to bingo today because ex is coming over ... poor thing! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I definitely watched The Flintstone's at lunch time whenever I was home and a show called Buckshot which was local here in Calgary ... great memories! My Hello Fresh box gets delivered today ... my mum won't be coming over so I might invite my girlfriend ... or I'll just make something for myself! How is your knee feeling today KelleeM? What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

Sunday dinner with my parents - I think it’s pork tenderloin tonight. My mom makes the best dinners. I was bussed to school, so didn’t get to watch TV at lunch. But when it was indoors due to bad weather we got to watch the Flintstones and the Jetsons in the library. What a memory from way back

That sounds like a fab way to spend your lunch hour leannec. I didn't get to watch much TV when I was a kid. I did see the Flintstones a few times though. This is probably the reason why I don't really watch as an adult either. I can hear my dad's voice in my head that TV rots your brain. Ironically, he spent all his free time in front of the TV. However his brain isn't all that great either. So maybe the argument holds. 😂 Just kidding. Jeremy's kids are coming over this afternoon and staying for dinner. His oldest requested ribs. So I'm making ribs, asparagus, and mashed potatoes. I will also be making a chocolate cake for dessert and pumpkin muffins for them to take home. So that should keep me busy most of the afternoon. Plus laundry. Can't forget my piles of laundry. 🙄

I'll work on DS's album until about 1 then head home. I've gotten a lot accomplished and will continue at home.
Dinner will probably be Chicken Tortilla Soup.

Happy Sunday!
I got up early and came in to the office. After being out unexpectedly I wanted to come in and see what was waiting for me. I'm glad I did...
Stopping at the grocery store on my way home. Then it's time to do laundry.
I am fixing a pork loin and some sides to take to my in laws tonight. DH has not seen his mother since she broke her arm last week so I told him we were going over and I would fix dinner. I will fix enough that they will have plenty of leftovers.

Since temps are still at least 10 degrees below normal and all.ot does is rain, Im going to get chili started before the Lions game- it should be ready around half time. I'll make kielbasa and sauerkraut for myself because chili is nasty!

Well, our winter weather arrived a day earlier than predicted, so we woke up this morning to cold temps and rain. Thankfully, DH was able to drop me at Starbucks on his way to the airport, so I only had a short metro ride to church. I had a lovely meeting with my First Communion parents, and we are set to go after the fall break that starts next weekend. I will have 10 kids in the group, including a set of identical twin girls! After that, I took the train to my friend’s apartment, where we had lunch and chatted about knitting. She learns as a kid and took it up again seriously during Covid lockdowns, but now wants to make sweaters for herself, so I was helping her with ideas and suggestions of easy patterns to try. Now I’m home - I managed to avoid getting rained on until I turned the corner into our street - and I have poured myself a glass of wine while I think about dinner. I am not really hungry, so I might just boil up some pasta and have it with garlic butter and cheese.

Fish and squash zoodles for dinner tonight instead of going out. I got us breakfast sandwiches at Panera instead of going out to breakfast. Laundry is already done, but I need to clean the bathroom today. A mostly lazy anniversary for us, but next year is New England!

leannec , stormsts , karenlou , jeremysgirl Thank you all! 🥰 We planned our wedding in 4 months and lots of DIY, and DH helped me pick out my dress. We lucked out with 70 degrees the whole day.

I did a bit of shopping at the mall this morning. I’m still trying to find clothes that fit since my recent weight loss. I bought a pair of pants and 2 shirts today with gift cards so they didn’t cost me a cent!
Tomorrow is “anything goes” garbage day in my neighbourhood. The garbage man will pick up anything so it’s a good time to clean out. I have to watch DH carefully and monitor what he takes to the curb. He hates clutter and has no issues tossing stuff.
Supper will be leftover chicken from last night.

@rhymeswithpurple you both look great! Happy Anniversary!!
Dinner here is taco chicken salads.
It feels great to be home. Unfortunately my blood pressure didn’t cooperate with me having physical therapy today. Hopefully the next time they’re here all will go to plan

I think we're having pasta with basil & tomatoes (meatless). I'm craving something more simple/homestyle since I just got home from a cruise with my sisters-in-law yesterday and we ate a lot! (Well, I did at least.) I have lots to catch up on, especially unpacking and laundry. DH and DS have kept up with the groceries so at least there's food here...now just need to find my cooking mojo! LOL

Hi friends! It's been a while...I've tried to keep up with most of the threads even though I haven't posted much. Mu work schedule has been kicking my behind M-W and then the teeth of the week is trying to recover and catch up on stuff. But bow I'm on fall break for a couple days and things have been going so well. Some better news on the health issues and I'm feeling better, school is going well, and Nick and I have had a very fun 3 days shopping and exploring. I will spend tomorrow catching up on grading. A former student is supposed to be my guest speaker for my only class this week, so unless she ghosts me I won't have to teach on Wed, giving me a whole week off! We went over into IL on Frifay, and up into MI to Saugatuck yesterday...some of our favorite places. Today we watched the Bears lose and relaxed on the couch and in the hot tub after covid and flu vaccines yesterday. Nick is achey but I feel pretty good. We hit an estate sale this weekend and just went back for one last item today. We got a yard swing, a like-new microwave, a TV we will create a waterproof frame for and mount on the deck, and a few other things. Today I picked up an antique wood cabinet from them that didn't sell. They had it priced at $150 so I didn't make an offer til now, half hoping they'd get a better one, since I was only going to pay $50. They were fine with it so win-win for everyone. I can't decide if I will clean it up and just replace the pulls, or paint it. It's not pristine, so I don't feel bad painting it. Depending on where it fits will determine the color. Black for our bedroom, white for the downstairs hall. Or a fun color like teal or red to match some other painted pieces we have. What a great weekend! We marked 6 years together on Friday. Sending love to all pea friends...hope you are all mending, healing and celebrating. Attachments:

There’s still lots of rechauffe. *sigh* That’s dinner! oh wait, there’s also a shrimp cocktail thing from Costco. Maybe that’s dinner. If not today, then tomorrow. Did I tell you all about my sister? The one who lives down the street. She went to Arizona with friends for 10 days. On day #3, she broke her leg on a mountain hike. She hiked 2.5 miles out on that broken leg (which she didn’t think was broken). The other option was having a helicopter pick her up and she wasn’t having any of that. Her son flew down and drove her car home. Tomorrow I’m taking her to the orthopedist and he can figure out if she needs surgery. She thinks she tore a cadaver ligament from an earlier surgery. She has problem ankles. sueg , your day sounds so fun and peaceful. Enjoy your time to yourself now. Happy anniversary, rymeswithpurple ! I love seeing your cute photos. ETA also happy anniversary to tmarschall!

Oh wow lucyg , your poor sister! Ouch Happy anniversary rymeswithpurple , I love your photos! I tried a new dish for Sunday dinner. I had been getting a ton of delicious recipes from Julia's Album on my Facebook feed, so I started following the page. I made this delicious dish: Creamy Spinach and Mushroom Gnocchi. It was soooo good! I'm not usually a fan of gnocchi (unless it's DD's homemade ricotta gnocchi), because it can be quite stodgy. I went to an Italian deli to buy fresh gnocchi, and I think that made a positive difference. I put more smoked paprika in than what the recipe said, and I still think I could have added more. It wasn't very strong. I also added bacon, because, well, bacon!

Happy Anniversary @rhymeswithourple lucyg your poor sister Thinking of you tanya2It’s dd2’s birthday today. 26! I can’t believe it. We went out for seafood. I had scallops in a bed of cauliflower & kale with an onion purée. It was super salty. She had a seafood stew. It was good. Then I came home and blanched and cut up tomatoes to freeze from my garden. It’s probably the last batch. I hope your blood pressure cooperates KelleeM

rymeswithpurple, Happy Anniversary. You're such a cute couple. KelleeM, I'm hoping that your blood pressure cooperates, so that you can recover sooner. I love my Flindstones watch. Of course, I wear George of the Jungle when I want to feel empowered. I have a whole watch thing. Car shopping was funny. No car, but I pissed off the salesman who lied so openly. He wasn't as slimey as toupee guy, but that's a whole other story for another day.
