lately? Anything...
Here's mine:
My favorite documentary I screened this year, Dusty and Stones, was selected for the local film fest this year. There wasn't very many in the theater for it when it played. (It was 1pm on a weekday).
Anyway, even with the small crowd, it seemed to be well received by the audience. There were a few bragging on it afterwards. Everyone clapped when it was over. And everyone got a kick out of some of the scenes. (Like them trying Taco Bell, Grandma telling one he was lying through his teeth on having kids....).
Made me feel good in a weird way that it was well received.

We are visiting my parents in NY. Being around my dad is very stressful.
My husband suggested that we go take a walk by the Erie Canal last week and we have been doing it every morning since. It's been a great way to start our day, spend time together, and just get out of the house. The past 2 days there has be a haron on a log over the canal. So beautiful.

We are having picture perfect weather here in Minnesota this week. 60 degrees and sunny today.
Also, my parents are settling in at the care facility. A funny - my mom is NOT a dog person and was sure my DD would visit with her dog. Mom hates the shedding and forbid her to bring poor Odin for a visit. So my DD bought a stuffed toy that looks like Odin and put him in mom's chair. Every day mom calls my DD to tell her how naughty the toy is - he barks, peed on the floor, ate her remote, LOL. So today I took toilet paper and draped it over the stuffed dog and down to the floor so it looks like fake Odin got into the TP.

I just spent my birthday weekend with DS and his husband in VA at their brand new home. They bought it in August and have been putting their own spin on the decor and it looks great.
They surprised me with going to dinner and Cirque Du Soliel which was a great treat! We spent the rest of the weekend wine tasting, watching football and playing cards. It was so hard to come back home last night.

My 5 YO DGD is in beginner karate. She wears a white gi. Last week she went to a trial class for moving up to black belt training. She wanted to do it so now she wears a black gi. She loves karate and keeps saying how she’s now going to get a black belt. Bless her, she absolutely adores the coaches and one of them sent her a congratulations letter for earning her yellow belt. I gave her the letter and she read the entire letter to me. She was so happy that the coach sent her a letter. How could all of that not make me smile.

We have several groups of deer that hang out in our area. Probably 20 in all that I recognize. Today it was the 2 mommas and 4 babies that frequent our yard (and our choke cherry tree). I went out and found them all lounging nearby each other. The babies are a bit more skittish, but the moms have no issue with me. We just hung out for an hour or so as the sun dropped behind the mountain.

DGD had her 6th birthday on Friday, the 13th. For some reason I had her birthday as the 16th, so DS called late in the day to see if I had made cupcakes for her birthday ( my grands call me 'cupcake' grandma, as I always bring cupcakes on their birthdays). I told DS I'd be over the next day with them and her presents. I showed up Saturday, apologized for the mix up on the date, DGD told me it was okay, it just made her birthday last even longer And she loved the sweater I knit and the skirt I made her (also had a couple of toys for her). Her mom says she loves anything I make her Very knit/sew-worthy!

My son from my first marriage, and my husband (not his dad) have decided to open a law office together. I never imagined this would happen and it makes me so happy to see the special bond they’ve formed that led to this.

DS went to visit his bestie last week and took the quilt I made her for graduation.
She is absolutely crazy for Cinnamoroll, and I had to order fabric from Japan since it isn't available here. I made a 5x5 sampler quilt (to stretch the fabrics), and on the center block, I handmade an applique of Cinnamoroll.
DS filmed her opening it, and the absolute joy and excitement made me so happy. She screamed when she first saw it and as he was telling her everything I did she was crying because she was so touched that I made it for her.
One of the first things she said was, "Can I marry your mom?". LOL
She is such a sweetheart and is definitely quilt worthy.
