Yep - all computer cameras are covered w/ sticky notes unless needed. I'm not so worried about people seeing me specifically as I am about them checking to see if someone's home or seeing confidential information that might be around. I just close my laptop. DH does the same thing. No issue.

Yes. My work computer can be remotely controlled by my district. So I know they can access the camera whenever they want. I have a slider cover that I use for it.

DH does the same thing. No issue. Me too, but sometimes I forget, so the sticky note's there just in case. Also, it's too much of a pain to take the external webcams down each time, so one goes on each of those.

They do not need your camera turned on for them to see what you are doing. The camera shows you.....not your laptop screen or what your are doing on it. You can cover your camera, but they still see what you're doing on the screen.

no, i don't. my work pc is hooked to 2 monitors and the laptop is closed and stays under the monitors, so even if i wanted to use it, i'd have to adjust my set up to get to it.

Nope. If I think about it, my work one is an external one and I point it upwards but I don't make it a point to do so.. just if I had a thought about it.

No. I don't consider it a realistic risk that someone would hack my computer or phone to use my camera. There isn't any quick, valuable information they could get from that. They could count the animals, couch pillows, or pictures in the sun room I use as my office, and they might learn that I don't put on my makeup or take off my PJs until after DH gets up in the morning. The worst that could happen is that I could accidentally turn it on during a meeting, but I think is more embarrassing to be the person with the video of darkness playing.
My general rule of thumb for all things online is that I don't expose any more information than a person could through a casual conversation with me or overhearing walking down the street/in a parking lot. Since I would tell someone about my sun room office and it is visible to someone on my front or back porch (or with a drone on the street), it meets my sniff test.
