I get chocolate ones for ds22, his best friend, and best friend's little sister. I've always told all of them that they were from my mom. I have no memory of why I decided to say they are from my mom, but she thinks its funny and likes getting thank you notes from them. When ds was little I used to make him advent calendars, and then he discovered the Lego one and he's gotten that every year since. This year I'm going to steal breetheflea idea of a snack box. I think that would be well received. I've gotten my mom puzzle ones the last three years. She loves them, and tells my siblings that I keep winning Christmas over this. 😁 Last years puzzle advent calendar, she modge podged the puzzles to use them as coasters.

I like the idea of the puzzle calendar for DD, but it would drive her nuts to limit herself to 42 pieces a day for 24 days. lol She will have puzzles going from the day she gets home from college until the day she goes back. I did Harry Potter Lego last year, and that was fun, but I'd like that better if it made one connected scene instead of a bunch of little figures that sit around close to each other. I think it would be really cool to create a Lego village over many years or something like that. We have done tea calendars in the past. We have done Adagio Teas twice and another brand that escapes me another time.

I made advent calendars for my nieces and nephews. I used match boxes to build it and they have had it for years. I filled it the 1st year, but the parents have had to fill them after The Bigs and Littles love them!

I have one month to find the beautifully quilted advent calendar for DS. Granny bought it for him at a craft fair years ago and it’s very beautiful. I plan to fill it with something for both of them. Maybe she will get makeup and him tools or something. I have a month to do this. Any ideas what to do for them are obviously welcomed! We have a quilted wall hanging one that a family friend made my kids. She knitted tiny little stockings for each day that's attached to the squares so I'm very limited in size on what I can fit in there. I buy the mystery LEGO or Playmobile figures but I have to take the pieces out of the package to fit them in the stockings. Chocolates and tiny toys make an appearance of course. One year I put in a set of D&D dice split up into 2-3 days. I've also split up a 100 piece puzzle and put 4-5 pieces in each stocking but that one was less of a hit due to there being no candy. LOL This year I have some mini puzzles that I'll split up but include some good local candies too.
I wish I lived near al Aldi's! A cheese Advent Calendar would be fun for myself!

I’ll second these! They’re nice and have a mix of low cut and crew length socks plus they come in a bunch of fun themes for men, women and kids.

My kid would LOVE a cheese advent calendar. The kid is a cheese fiend and always wants me to go in for the big commitment and buy a huge chunk of unknown cheese from Costco. I only like buying cheese in that kind of quantity if I know we’ll like it.

I always want to like the Lego ones but the builds are mostly underwhelming so I don’t buy them. I usually get DD a basic chocolate one, plus we have a reusable wooden house one that I put things into myself. Now that I have a new awesome 3D printer, I kind of want to make a set of mini cookie cutters and put them into a cloth advent calendar I bought at Target a year or two ago and send it to my friend. She made something similar for me one year and it was awesome. That would be an amazing gift! I really want to do it. I joined a paid group where members can download the STLs to print their cutters so I know she wouldn’t have any of them. And my new printer can print multiple cutters blazing fast so it wouldn’t be the painful task of waiting, waiting, waiting endlessly like it would have been printing them on my Ender 3. I probably could crank all of them out in less than a few hours and I know she would love it.

Although If I eat I just remember not to buy again, anything there in fact. Try the white cheddar cranberry white. It is very good to eat. I bought two of the 'Halloween' cheeses, they are seasonal. When I open them I must remember they each must be used one in five days the other in 7 days. They have a large assortment of cheeses, domestic and imported.

I realize that I don't know you anymore than I know any of the amazon reviewers but I feel like I can better trust a pea.

I'm looking for a tea advent calendar or 12 day. Please share a link if you have a recommendation. I've gotten the Advent calendar from David's Tea in the past and was very pleased. I didn't get it last year, but did buy 2 this year. One is for my Mom and the other is for myself. link

Oh my goodness, the craft one! What fun!
Mine is wine, and lasts well into January because I can't drink a big glass of wine every night. DH has beer.

Usually I get items through the year and wrap them individually but since I’m hosting DH’s large, extended family for Thanksgiving and Christmas, I decided to try purchasing pre-made calendars. DH would l love the whisky one mentioned above, so thanks for the link!! This year he’s getting this one… www.givethembeer.com/products/the-original-manvent-advent-ca?sscid=a1k7_pmb3qDD usually has some Lush products in the advents I make so this is the one I’ve decided for her… www.lush.com/us/en_us/p/12-days-of-christmas-giftI’m getting the Yarn one Hobby Lobby had last year. I snagged it for $15.00 the day after Christmas! Next year, I’m going to try one of the puzzle ones or the craft one mentioned above. Thanks for all the ideas for next year!! I live the peas!

I got 2 Puzzle ones from Amazon this year. One is 24 single puzzles that make one big puzzle.
One is a full size puzzle where you put a certain number of pieces in per day to make the entire picture.
I doubt I'll do both this year, but loved both designs so bought them on sale while I could.

Went to Aldi’s this morning for advent calendars. My store didn’t get any cheese ones and only 3 wine ones. I picked up 3 doggie advents, a candle one for me, and the wicked grove for ds.

I bought the cheese one from Aldi and the boozy one from Trader Joe’s and I just looked again. I was in a hurry and said I wanted the booze advent calendar but it’s not an advent calendar I thought the box was too small. They handed them to me. I guess I will call tomorrow and see if they are getting an advent calendar of just the boozy truffles. I may return these as one of them is gin and we aren’t gin fans. I really hope they get the same ones they had last year as it was really good.
I am also thinking about ordering a puzzle one. I had the one from Aldi in my hands but it was just a bunch of little puzzles I want one that makes a big picture.

I don’t usually do Advent calendars. However, I saw an ad for a Walker’s shortbread one, and an excuse to eat that treat was all I needed to purchase one lol.

I've also got the Bonne Maman little jars advent for someone and myself.
The recipient loved it. I did too, to a point. What it reinforcedto me is there's a reason I buy the same (larger) jars repeatedly. Nice to try variety, but I found I prefer the simple flavors over combos and spiced. Raspberry being my favorite.
