What do you have to loose? If you don't like it, stop watching it. You might find it funnier now. I would start with season 1 and go from there. While I do love Friends and watch it almost nightly, the middle seasons and towards the end are my favorite. I would say the first season is good but I think it gets better as it goes on. Except for Marcel - they almost lost the there!

I’ve never watched a full episode. Why would you want to start watching it now? FTR, I’m 66. For the same reason many people start a show years after it aired. I’ve watched a lot of shows like that in recent years. There are many reasons I missed them the first time around. 🤷🏻♀️

I'm 56 and Friends is one of the few sit-coms that I enjoy ... the writing is smart and the acting is excellent ... I say start from the beginning and give it a chance ... it gets better as the years go on. Yes. For some reason, we didn’t start till season 3, but I didn’t like Ross’s monkey Marcel, so I didn’t feel like I missed much. We have gone back and watched them over the years, but they weren’t our favorite seasons. Watched all seasons after that many times.

Never watched it. I was living overseas the whole time it aired, that played a major part. And in general I’m not into comedies

I much prefer sitcoms to reality tv and movies. I loved Friends. I have seen some episodes many times. I am also a fond of Big Bang Theory, Everybody Loves Raymond, and others that are similar. It is easy to watch, but when you go back and watch the pilot episodes of these kinds of comedies, they seem a little stiff. Give it a try. I am going to start watching Parks and Rec.

It’s so funny. If you start watching, start at the beginning because that way you will follow the jokes in later episodes. I hope you enjoy it!

Never watched. I think we tried it for about half an episode back when it was so popular. It didn't "speak" to us, so that was the end of that. My thoughts exactly. Too many other programmes to bother watching something that just does not cut it.

I haven't watched it either. I have watched about 5 episodes, and some famous clips over the years but have never watched the series.

I've always gotten awful looks and snide remarks anytime I tell people that I've never watched more that maybe 10 episodes. I just could not get into it at the time. It's like I must be from another planet or something. LOL. So glad to know I'm not the only one.
I'm 50 now and when I get to a point of having time to binge watch something, I'll give it another try.

Same age as the cast. I didn't watch it. I did see a few clips over the years that I did enjoy. I didn't relate to the characters at that time in my life.

I watched it when it first came out, but only watched a few episodes. I was a huge Seinfeld fan, and thought that Friends was inferior. I started watching it a few years later and really enjoyed it. I have re-watched it multiple times. My now-25yo DD and her friends started watching it when they were about 14yo, and they all loved it. I can't imagine watching it for the first time now as a 60 or 70yo. Part of the appeal to me when I re-watch it now, is the nostalgia. If you didn't like it when it was first on, I can't imagine that you will like it now, thirty years later. And we were the opposite! LOL We loved Friends, never watched Seinfeld. I've seen a couple episodes, know who is who, know the iconic line references, but we never really got into it or enjoyed it. Friends was our thing!

I watched maybe a season. I hated all of them. I had no interest in watching.

I have certainly seen many episodes over the years, but I did not watch it when it was on. When it got big, I was in college and worked until 9:00 or later every night and was never home to see shows like Friends and Seinfeld and it was before DVR.

I may have seen one episode. I’m not a big sitcom person.

I was about 14 when it first aired and I watched the entire series through in real time. When I met my husband, we would then watch together on Thursday nights. I can remember the two of us plus one of my brothers getting pizza and watching the series finale together. My kids all grew up watching re-runs. My youngest especially LOVED going to bed to Friends (I used to have the giant red boxed set before it was on streaming devices). She's 15 now and I would say she watched Friends all the way through around age 8 or so. haha She couldn't fall asleep unless her Friends were on.
I rarely re-watch now, but I don't watch much television. If I do, its for nostalgia.
Fun story: I had my oldest in 2003. We liked the name Emma but as I tell everyone, "Rachel on Friends had her Emma in 2002" and the name skyrocketed. So we decided we would go with Emily which was a little more old fashioned. I was 22. I didn't know anyone having kids and I didn't know many Emilys.
Fast-forward to the following year when the "Top Baby Names of 2003" list comes out. Emma was #2... only to be beat out by Emily at #1. lol Doh!

I used to watch Friends as I fell asleep at night. Not to say that it was so boring it put me to sleep, but it was familiar(I had watched it all the way through before). I didn't relate much to these people, but it was fun. Some of the jokes are problematic these days, but even my former boss who would tear apart things that weren't pc had said that they loved the show even if it was problematic.

I love friends. I've seen the complete series several times. My personal thought is, I didn't care so much for the first couple seasons. I say try it, if you like it, great. If not stop watching.
