I work about 40 minutes from home in a windowless office. I really like my job, but I try to leave the office at lunchtime to get some fresh air and move my body since I sit at a desk all day. A couple of years ago I started going to the thrift store 2-4 times/month on my lunch break. I have two Goodwill stores within 3 miles of my office (one east, one west), and I rotate between the two. I've picked up so many great things at the thrift on my lunch break! Today, I found a new with tags black, sleeveless Calvin Kline dress for $4.75! The original tag has it priced at $89.99! I am so excited. It's perfect for work, paired with a blazer and black pumps. I find it so relaxing to wander the thrift store for an hour and not think about work or anything else. Sometimes I walk away with nothing, sometimes I end up with a cart full, but I don't think I've ever spent more than $25. It's a relatively inexpensive way to de-stress during the week. I know we've had thrifting threads before, but please share your latest thrifting find! ETA: I tried on the dress with a White House Black Market blazer from my closet and it fits like a glove! I love it! VERY nice score! I absolutely love thrifting. I will take weekend road trips to other states (love NJ) to thrift there stores, stay over night in a nice hotel and then shop more the next day before heading home. It's my fun "me" time!

Most thrift stores around me are usually crap for clothes. Unless you want to dress like a Golden Girl. There is a store in my town that sells overstocked clothing. I recently bought a dress for $1, oven mitt for $1, a tank top, and t-shirt for $10-12? I can't remember for sure on those two.
It's been a while, but I did buy a WRMK 12x12 binder FULL of page protectors for $1.00. There is another community thrift store that will give you a $10.00 credit if you work in the store for an hour. I'm tempted to try. I did buy the cutest crocheted skirts to put under my small white trees.

I stopped in at the other Goodwill near my office yesterday during my lunch break and picked up a new Recollections Photo & Craft Keeper for $3.75! It's this one: Craft Keeper
