Hi everyone, I'm seeing some action on yesterday's thread so I thought I would post today's thread early! I hope you can get your nurse friend to look at your finger jeremysgirl! Wishing you were feeling better scrapmaven! I will be meeting Emma and my mum, if she's feeling up to it, for breakfast in awhile ... then we are all going back to Grandma's place to hopefully get her kitchen finally unpacked ... Emma has a bridal shower to attend later so we can only stay for a couple of hours ... After that, I need to pick up a prescription and a few things at the grocery store ... then I will come home and crash! Dinner is TBD ... my Hello Fresh box will be delivered today so I'll see what is in there. This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I'm sitting on 8 right now ... my hair is pretty scary! What number are you? What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

Good afternoon, This morning we had church and it was the start of First Communion preparation classes. I have the sweetest group of children. Today I only had 8 of the 10 present - two were sick - but they were attentive and funny and asked some wonderful questions and gave interesting answers. I think we are going to have a great time in next few months. Before church, I chopped all the veggies for my soup and put them and a couple of handfuls of barley into the broth I made yesterday and set it to simmer while we were out. That was our lunch, with thick slices of the fresh baguette DH bought at the bakery when he bought our breakfast croissants.
DH has gone into work for a bit, as he does most weeks to prepare for the week ahead, especially when he’s been away like he was last week. I am watching football and knitting. I have one sleeve to go to finish a sweater for Sophia and want to get it done soon so it can go in the Christmas present parcel, which I want to get out in the next week - 10 days.
As for the cat scale, I think I am about a 4 this afternoon, just not quite asleep.

I have been MIA for a bit. I was on a quilting retreat last week doing a Judy Niemeyer paper piecing quilt, Victory Compass. This is a version of a mariner's compass. This was very difficult because of the *language* that is used. My quilt has all of the pieces sewn and now is ready for the pieces to be matched and sewn together to make the quilt. It was fun meeting other quilters and of course, having every meal ready to eat and no cleaning up afterwards. I am spoiled.
I picked up some stuffed chicken breasts with brie and apples. That will be dinner.
Now to unpack and do laundry and clean up after myself.

On the scale of cats I'm going back and forth between 3&5. 😂
I'm just kidding. I'm doing pretty well today. I can't really complain about anything. Lord knows I complained enough about my stupid finger this week. I feel like it's been nothing but drama and I'm exhausted even of myself. 😉
I'm heading to the library here in a bit. Shh...don't tell anyone but I'm picking up Jill Duggar's book hoping she dishes on that messed up family. Some of you watch trash television, well this is my trash reading.
And wouldn't you know Jeremy said this morning that he would like to go to the farmers market and get a salad for dinner! I've only been suggesting it since Wednesday. Today he acted like it was totally his idea. 🤣 So that's what's for dinner.

Good morning! It’s going to be a quiet day here, but that’s what I love.
Having DS and the boys over for supper last night was very busy. Walker goes nuts when they are here and since there is three little ones, it takes him awhile to settle down. Supper was delicious and it was fun to have them here. DH hadn’t seen them since before his surgery.
I’m slowly finishing up my Christmas shopping. Gosh, what did I do before Amazon?? Yesterday I ordered glow in the dark collars for my 3 grand dogs. It gets so dark so quickly now, they will be able to be seen out in the yard.
Supper tonight will be leftover steak from two nights ago and salads from last night. Easy peasey.

Good Morning! It’s going to be a quiet day at home. Watching some football while I try to figure out my Christmas cards. taylortroop I am so jealous that you are almost finished with Christmas shopping. I made a good start in October but have gotten nothing done since nice. DH knew how much I was dreading going to the funeral yesterday so he surprised me by driving me to it. It was an hour away so I was very appreciative. I am fixing ham slider sandwiches for dinner. Making enough so DH can take some to his parents.

It's a beautiful brisk morning so we'll take our walk before the 9ers game at 10AM. I will spend the day making another batch of pralines and continuing to get ready for tomorrow's gathering for Crazy Rummy. Dinner will be ribs. scrapmaven , I hope you are feeling a little better this morning.

Good morning all.
DD17 has a dinner out with friends tonight so it'll just be DH and myself - so stuffed chicken breasts and some veggies - probably Brussel Sprouts for dinner. Nice and easy. DD doesn't like stuffed chicken breast so it's a go-to when she's not home
I think another scrappy day here today. Our Thanksgiving plans are needing to be reworked yet again - this time thanks to the Navy. We'll just have to wait and see.

I think I'm a mix of 2, 4, and 6 kitties today: I think my ear may be infected because I took an Aleve last night and it's done very little for the pain. Ugh. On the plus side, I did figure out the perfect Cricut cut setting for some turkeys that DH likes, so those are being cut out right now.
Dinner tonight will be sheet pan sausage and mixed veggies (cherry tomatoes, zucchini, a bell pepper, and possibly some broccoli, depending if it looks okay still).

rymeswithpurple and anyone else who wants to answer...do you just make your sheet pan dinners with herbs and olive oil? Or do you ever use a sauce? I need a carb and Jeremy's not a huge fan of a lot of veggies. But if I could make it feel saucy he might be open to eating it with rice. It just seems like it would be such an easy dinner.

Thank you ladies. This is going to sound strange, but I think I have a bad cold and that's a relief. The other stuff is still happening, but the cold trumps it and that is actually good news. Sil and I are planning a girls getaway next week and I don't want to cancel it. I'm a #4 on the cat scale. Dinner is probably tacos. jeremysgirl, you had every right to be upset and concerned. You endured pain and your issue could have become very dangerous had you not sought treatment. leannec, busy day today, but your mom will appreciate the unpacking help. Is Emma in the wedding? stormsts, how are you doing after the funeral? ((((HUGS)))). cadoodlebug, I had to copy/paste your meme to dh and the boys. Very clever. Poor Bob.

jeremysgirl Usually just oil and whatever spices strike my fancy. I also buy a pre-cooked sausage, like a Hillshire Farm rope one. Sometimes I'll add some balsamic vinegar. You could absolutely serve it with rice as is to have more meal. I've done that before.

Thanks for asking scrapmaven. It was tough but my friend is holding up well. They asked that anyone that wanted to get up and say anything about him to please do so. It was nice to hear the good memories because there are so many bad. He suffered from mental illness along with alcohol and drug abuse. Even though he was only 27 years old, he had suffered a lot. My friend is holding onto that he is finally at peace. It will be a long road to healing. Her ex is wanting to sue the police. She believes it was a justifiable shooting. I told her we will go to lunch in a few weeks when things have calmed down.

The trees in our area are just gorgeous right now. Towards the end of our walk, a few blocks from home, I snapped this pic. Doesn't do it justice but when the wind blows it looks like it is snowing leaves!

If you did the chicken, he could always put a sauce like a barbecue sauce on it when it was done.

Beautiful photo, cadoodlebug. I made a sheet pan dinner and the veggies were mush, while the chicken was dry. I need to do it, again with a better recipe. DH was unimpressed, so I didn't retry.

Speaking of sheet pan dinners, can someone explain this to me with a bit more detail. I’ve read some posts in the past when someone has made one for dinner but I’m oblivious to what it is. If it’s easy, I’m all for it. Thanks in advance.

We are going to visit DH's mom in her rehab facility this afternoon, after she's had her PT and a nap. She has a fractured tailbone and today was the first day of PT. Yesterday they had her up and sitting in a wheelchair for a bit. They're taking it slow (she's in her upper 80s). Since it's a late afternoon visit, we'll probably pick up dinner nearby the facility. We'll bring it in to her too if she's up for it. She likes Olive Garden and there's one nearby so it might be that. Her appetite is up and down, so we'll play it by ear and see when we get there.
On the cat scale, I think I'm somewhere around 4.

I wouldn't add a sauce ... all that would happen is it would probably burn and stick to the bottom of your pan and ruin it ... I would make the sauce on the stove and drizzle it on after everything is cooked ... and serve with rice! leannec, busy day today, but your mom will appreciate the unpacking help. Is Emma in the wedding? We got a lot accomplished at my mum's. No, Emma isn't in the wedding ... just a friend!

I make one thing similar. I use kielbasa with potatoes peppers and onions. I use a 9x13 pan. And I roast the potatoes for a good half hour before I add everything else for 20 minutes. Different things cook at different rates. I use olive oil, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper.

I toss the veggies (including potatoes/sweet potatoes and other starchy options - although we do try to limit those) with the olive oil and carbs. Are there any bottled sauces that he likes? We'll toss stir-fried veggies/protein with a bottled sweet n sour or other Asian-inspired sauce -we then mix in riced cauliflower but rice works well also. I would guess you could do the same with cooked roasted vegetables. Alternately - could you make a saucy rice that he could stir the vegetables into?

LOL, I didn't know we had non-sharers of recipes in this group! Scandalous! cadoodlebug I chuckled too loudly at your bobsled meme. And that photo of the trees - gorgeous! scrapmaven I hope you're feeling better in time for your girl's weekend. DD and her partner came over for dinner. Her request was for Thai Spicy Basil & Pork Belly Stir-fry with coconut rice. I also made some of my famous* peanut dipping sauce, that DD's partner loves, to have with roti. I also tried a new recipe by Marion's mum, Mama Noi - Crab and Sweetcorn Soup. The recipe is in a cookbook that my MIL gave me for my birthday, so I can't share the link. *If you want the recipe, I'll happily share Oh, and a couple of weeks ago I made a batch of sugar syrup so I could make cocktails and mocktails. While I was cooking dinner, DD made the most delicious Virgin Mojito for me, and a Rum Mojito for the rest.
