Sorry you are facing this. Kidney stones were the cause of my cardiac arrests. Had the arrest after surgery for a stone that rotted through my ureter. Holy crap! Thats scary! I had one stone that had completely blocked all urine. In a two hour span, I had 4 drips of urine after them giving me fluid. They were hoping to be able to laser it and have it break up but it wouldn't work. So they had to go fetch it out. They found 1 5mm stone and then also a broken stone (2.25 mm) that they assume was at one time part of the 5mm stone.

Saying prayers for a speedy recovery for you! I agree giving birth was not nearly as painful as kidney stones. Worst pain I have ever had.

So very sorry you had to deal with all that. Extremely glad they are out and you are recovering. mom in case you've not searched.... Kidney stones look like mini prickly balls. Other then blockages, that is the reason they are so very painful as they move.

Has your urologist ever considered an internal urethrotomy to enlarge it? After suffering for several years with massive infections in my late 20's, my urologist performed one on me. I've never met anyone else who has had one and I know people don't believe me. mom, I am so glad you went to the ER and they realized what was going on. Glad you're feeling better. I agree that kidney stones can be worse than childbirth.

I’m glad to hear you’re on the mend. Making the diet changes your Doctor recommends can really help prevent future stones from forming.

ugh. I've passed one. It took about 3 weeks from the beginning to end. I remember crawling around my bedroom floor on my hands and knees sobbing. My husband was working out of town and my daughter was house sitting down the street. I had to call her at 2:00 am and have her come down and take me to the hospital. It was not pretty!
Glad you are on the mend!

I agree that kidney stones can be worse than childbirth. Back in my early 20s they attempted one, and ended up splitting my urethra almost the entire length. A very painful healing process ensued. Luckily, and much to everyone's surprise, I have had 2 bladder infections and that's it.

Never had kidney stones but had a gallbladder attack that I swore I'd rather give birth again. So I can imagine the pain you were in. I am glad they were able to get them out. Hopefully you'll never experience that again.
