I have mine set up to text me my balance every morning just so I can keep an eye on it. About two weeks ago, there was a significant drop. I logged on to check it and the first two items were fine, my car insurance and my Chewy order. Then there was a 378.29 amount to a name I didn’t recognize. I Googled it and it was some internet company based in Russia. I immediately reported the item as not a legitimate withdrawal to my account. Chase bank returns the funds to my account after I fill out the online questionnaire as to whether or not my card is in my possession and several additional questions. Then about a week later I received a letter from Chase saying they investigated the suspected fraudulent charges and agree with me that it was not a legitimate charge and assure me the funds were returned to my account.
This was the first time in over a year that I returned to monitoring my account this closely. I have done so for years, but during my move and changing of banks, and purchasing of a new phone with a different phone number, I didn’t have it set up to text me. It makes me wonder how many times my account has been fraudulently charged where I didn’t catch it because I wasn’t looking closely. And since there probably isn’t anything that could be done at this stage, I decided not to even look. I wasn’t receiving any of my mail because I was staying in various hotels and my mail was sent to a PO Box and then my realtor’s office until I purchased a home. I would rather just not know and will monitor it closely from now forward.
Do you keep a very close eye on your accounts? There was an article on my bank’s website about the increase in fraudulent charges that are becoming more difficult for the bank to catch.

I check my accounts multiple times per day right now because I am shopping so much online for Christmas ...
Normally I would check it once per day ...

We get texts if someone tried to use our debit card, and got the PIN wrong, and also if I use the ATM and take money out it sends me a notice. I log in and check frequently but not daily. DD (18) just got a checking account in August, and yesterday found out someone Venmo'd themselves using her account number several times. She's only used her card to buy her high school transcript, books for college, and bought something online once They are sending her a new card.

I balance my checking account every two weeks when I get paid but other than that I rarely look at my account. I also have alerts setup if credit card charges are over a certain limit.

Somewhat close - I sit down every Thursday morning with my coffee (DH's payday) and catch up my little notebook (yes I still use pen and paper) with what has come out and debit card spends. Then I add in his new pay, set aside for the weekly bills, pay the ones I pay online that are not with auto withdrawal, and call it a day.
We run pretty close to paycheque to paycheque -my cake income isn't included in the household expenses. But I pay for things all the time - extra groceries, my portions of hydro & cell bills, decor, household things, stuff like that. I do keep a close eye on the business account - I get stressed it if is under a certain amount. I like a bit of a buffer there!

I log in everyday to check my balance. Every single day. It's how I balance it.. last month got me in trouble though... I forgot an automatic insurance withdrawal. KILLED me. I moved the withdrawal date to balance things out and totally forgot. So yeah, I check everyday.

I don't check it daily, but about once a week when we're paid. I check my credit card more often, several times a week.

Not really. I do get notified whenever there is a transaction (same with our credit cards). I only really log into the account when I need to initiate a transaction (bill pay). So, maybe twice a month. We don’t use debit cards, so the balance in our account is not changing daily.

I check mine about every three days. I have my account set up to text me if there is a debit over $100.00. We should only have a couple of bigger bills come through in a month.
Funny aside: Once DH tried to surprise me by buying tickets to a concert using his debit card. I got a text about the charge (about $200.00) and, of course, didn't know what or who it was and immediately flagged it as fraudulent. DH's debit card was shut down and he had to wait until they sent him a new one. I thought it was funny! He did not but he hasn't tried anything like that since.

Yes. I log into my bank account every day. My checking account (with card) and credit card are both at my bank, so I can view both at the same time. I also get "purchase alerts" emailed to me, whenever I use the cards.
I only have one regular credit card.
I also have a pre-paid American Express bluebird, that I've had since the Walmart savings catcher rewards (now discontinued). I load Birthday and Christmas money on it, that way I don't have to carry that cash with me. I get a "current balance" email every day.
There's too much hacking, fraud, mistakes, etc... that happens, that is why I keep a close watch on my accounts. I have more than some, and less than others. I keep watch and try to protect.....what I have.

I balance our C/A every month down to the penny. About 8 years ago 2 separate people made checks with our info on them. One tried to cash one of the checks at our bank and was caught. Another person cashed a check at a bar for over $800. Never caught. Our bank closed down our account and we had to open an new one. PITA for sure.

Mine is set up to email me my balance every morning. My balance generally only changes a few times a month based on how I manage my accounts - when I get paid by direct deposit, when I pay off my credit card balance, and when I pay my monthly utilities/bills that can't be put on a credit card. So unexpected balance changes would be easy to spot for me.

I receive text notifications for withdrawals over $100, deposits over $100, and the daily balance. I have a general idea of how much I have and how much I spend, and that's it. I do not track every transaction or every cent.

I balance my bank account every 2 weeks on payday. I only have a handful of transactions that actually come out of my bank account. Everything else goes onto a credit card and paid off monthly.
I have notification texts sent to my phone when my account is used.

I glance at my account every other or every third day. I don’t fully balance it until every two weeks , on my payday. A week ago, I found out that someone cashed a check at Trader Joe’s for $250. They had acid washed my check and changed the amount, account owner, and the check number. It was a medical bill payment that was never received at the intended location. I had dropped that payment INSIDE the post office. I even placed a stop payment, but because they changed the # and amount, it still went through. So I had to close that account and transfer everything to a new account. What a pain.

I check every day. You just never know when scammers are going to do something.

I think I am going to set mine up to notify me every time any money is removed from my account like a few peas have mentioned. Especially after seeing the article on the bank website where they say scammers are getting much better at stealing from people. And there is always an increase of theft over the holidays. It certainly wouldn’t hurt to keep a closer eye on things and just getting a text when any money is removed won’t be an inconvenience. I have all of my bills on auto pay except for the water bill and the dog groomer. The water is billed through the city itself and I guess they cannot offer autopay.

I can't imagine getting notified for everything - I think that would just turn into noise that I ignored. I do have notifications set for transactions over a set dollar amount and a notification if the account dips below a certain balance. I also have our credit cards set to notify for transactions over a set dollar amount and for transactions under $2. (Those are often test transactions if your card has been compromised, to see if it's valid, before trying to charge something larger. Most people don't notice because of the small dollar amount.) I also have a notification for any international transactions.
I actually log into our checking account every other week or so.
