Omg. I absolutely, positively could not live without my iPad. It is on 24 hrs a day because I play it while I sleep. It’s always in my lap playing word games, puzzles, news, you name it. I can’t watch tv without doing something on it. My iPad is always on. My husband is well aware of this. And yes, I am leaning into my ADD in my old age. I’ve quit fighting it. My vote? GET ONE NOW! Between my and husband and I we have 4 maybe 5. My husband uses them on his boat, his plane, his golf simulator, his flight simulator, and also just for messing around. We are an iPad-heavy household. my husband also has a kindle for reading in the sun on the boat. You just reminded me…reading outside is impossible on an iPad. I never read outside so it is not a problem for me. I also had a couple of Kindles years ago but I much prefer reading books on my iPad.

Kindle Paperwhite, MacbookPro and iPhone13. Happy with my phone camera. I'm seeing iPads on sale and wondering if I would benefit from having one. How/when do you mostly use yours? UPDATE: THANK YOU ALL for sharing! I just ordered the 1oth gen iPad (saved $100) and a cover. Looking forward to using it. that ipad is the one we are looking to get my DD. She has the iphone 12, an old ipad that is glitching and a macbook. She likes that she can transfer files seamlessly btwn ipad and macbook, and she can answer imessages on her macbook, ipad or phone too.

I’m on my second iPad mini. It fits perfect in my hand, and is not too heavy. The screen is plenty big enough, much much bigger than my iPhone. I really wish I would have gotten the one with more space. There was a huge jump between the memory size and I chose wrong. I still haven’t even used half of my space, as I am always checking it. My many audible books take up the most space. So, don’t be like me - get the one with the most space. Either one is superior though.

I read this thread wondering if I do, in fact, need one. I don't, but I see I'm definitely in the minority!
I use my phone (Galaxy S21) for pretty much all web searching, buying, and scrolling and I use my Surface Pro for work stuff or for the occasional page that won't load as well on my phone. And though it can function like a tablet, it's just too big for me to enjoy scrolling through stuff like that. I like that my phone just fits in my hand easily. Apps on my phone are far preferable to me and I'm not a fan of iPhones or Apple products, so it doesn't make much sense for me to get an iPad. My MIL uses hers all the time though!
I use my Paperwhite for reading, don't like reading on anything else.

I never read outside so it is not a problem for me. I also had a couple of Kindles years ago but I much prefer reading books on my iPad. It really depends on what type of screen protector you have on it. There are newer matte finish ones that are anti glare. That’s what I have on mine now. For people using Apple Pencil for artwork there are paper like surface ones that mimic the feel of actual paper for drawing. I’m late to the thread but I’m another that will not ever be without one anymore. I’m on my third one and I literally use it all day, every day, for everything. I love it. DH will use his phone for a lot (he has a 13 pro max?) and then struggles because of the small size of the screen. 🙄 I’m constantly telling him, “Why don’t you just use your iPad?” I don’t get it, he HAS one, and it’s usually right there next to him. 🤦🏻♀️ He’s due for an upgrade and is resisting. I use it to surf the web, watch tutorials and videos on YouTube, look up recipes, use it for Procreate, for playing games, to read and send emails, edit photos, read library e-books on Libby, I use it for DuoLingo, have taken online art classes using it, use it with my projector for decorating cookies, pretty much anything and everything. I have a nice MacBook Pro that only gets cracked open for actual computer stuff, such as heavier duty photo editing or page layout where I need to use Photoshop Elements or label printing software and connect to a specialty printer (my sublimation printer and my thermal label printer will only print from my MacBook). The MacBook is down in my office and that’s where it lives. My iPad is almost always right within reach wherever I am. It’s nothing like a Kindle. I have one of those too collecting dust and there’s no comparison whatsoever between the two.

crazy4scraps I'll have to try a screen protector for glare outside. I agree with everything else you said. Love my iPad!

I have the largest iPad. I LOVE it! I mainly read on it. It's nice to have the larger pages. I also play games on it. Most of my surfing is on my laptop. This is me too. I don't have the largest iPad but I use the Kindle app and I play games on it. I like it more than my iPhone. I use the Kindle app too.
