We spent the day at my SIL's home with her family and my other SIL. We offered to bring Thai food for everyone as a small thank you for Thanksgiving and to give them a break from entertaining. They are the midpoint between us and my other SIL. We had a lot of fun chatting and playing games.

I had a butterflied leg of lamb in the fridge, so at the last minute I decided to chuck it in the slow cooker for dinner. It was too much for just DSO and I, so I invited my dad and stepmum over for dinner. I also did crispy roast potatoes and pumpkin, Dutch carrots, broccolini, cherry tomatoes. A couple of days ago I mentioned to DSO that Americans mainly eat mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving etc, instead of roast potatoes, and they use pumpkin as a sweet dish rather than savoury. So when I asked him whether I should try crispy smashed potatoes instead of my normal roast potatoes, he said "Why don't you do mashed potatoes instead?" Then we looked at each other and both said "Nah!" People here would be shocked if anyone tried to serve mashed potatoes with a roast dinner! we enjoyed a lamb roast for dinner with cauliflower, pumpkin, sauted cabbage and roast potatoes with gravy. Delicious as usual and with plenty of leftovers for lunch this week. I agree with you regarding mash potato with a roast! Who would have thought it was a thing. Our SonInLaw has mash with his - I had never heard of it until he started coming to dinner. So now I cook both roast and mash đ

Thanks I donât have a pressure cooker, but knowing the exact ingredients does help lol Absolutely! If it helps at all, my mom doesn't either and she just simmers the meatballs in the broth until they're cooked through. I, however, am grateful for the IP, because I have an irrational fear of not cooking meat all the way through. She usually does marble sized meatballs.
