Update on my earlier posts. I went to Target today at lunch. I was wrong about the baby formula. It is not locked up. Only thing locked up is the usual electronic stuff. BUT … they had the self-checkouts closed!! UGH! Had to wait behind two people, one couldn’t find their credit card, another had to fumble for enough cash. I guess I’ve come to like self-checkouts. This is a store that has had a lot of losses.

I was all prepared to say none of the stores around me have things locked up, then I had to go inside WalMart today to pick up a prescription. First thing I see as I walk in is an entire row of shelves with razors and shaving cream locked up. Funnily though, there were boxes of extra stock sitting on top of the case not secured. A tall person could easily reach up and grab things! . As I walked back to the pharmacy I noticed they had the entire cosmetics & skincare department locked up, and it was sectioned off from the rest of the store. They also had a cash register at the front (w/an employee) that you has to pass to enter that area. Was in there a month or so ago and none of this was locked up then. They have also converted most of the checkouts to self-checkouts. I'd say a good 3/4 of the checkouts are now self-service. Since it was a slow time of day several were closed though.

Every.dadgum.thing is locked up here. I just hate it. I like to browse, read labels, etc. Keeping some poor employee standing around while I read all the labels on the different off-brand cold medicines or vitamins... not gonna happen. This is driving me to shop online where I can at least read the labels - I hate that the brick and mortar stores are dying, but sheesh.
