She's been able to escape it all these years and tested positive after being up all night coughing. She's supposed to be on oxygen 24/7 since her o2 levels are so low but she's vain and refuses to wear it out of the house. I worry that this could potentially cause more damage to her lungs.
She and my dad are together 24/7 and he'll likely end up with it too. He just turned 92 and has COPD so he's a worry as well.
Luckily they are both vaccinated but haven't gotten the latest booster. We just had a party for my dad for his birthday and were out and around all weekend. DS was in town and he's headed to Mexico next week so he's concerned. I had it back in July so not sure how long the antibodies last.
Ugh, we didn't need this right before the holidays!

I'm sorry. I'd try to tie your mom down to her comfy chair and keep her indoors if that's what it takes for her to use the oxygen she has available. If only... I hope the rest of you can manage to avoid getting sick and that your mom's case ends up being brief and mild.

Since she's contagious she should stay home and use that 02. My mom had it at 95 and got a mild case. I hope the same for your mom.

I'm so sorry. Praying everyone makes it through it all with mild symptoms. I had Covid in Sept. (travelled to Europe-definitely caught it on public transportation). I've only had 2 vaccinations, but this time was much milder than last time I had it. No worse than a regular cold. Stay healthy!

That's scary...I'm sorry! I hope everyone who ends up with it has a mild and uneventful case.
Hang in there!

My parents who both have health issues got it for the first time a couple months ago. Thankfully they've had multiple vaccinations and it was fairly uneventful. One thing I will mention is that they called their MD when they came up positive and were prescribed medication. So you may want to see if that is an option for them.
Hoping they have a mild case and are quickly back to normal.

My FIL had Covid last year, around his 90th birthday. It was a mild case and he recovered quickly. I hope for mild cases for your parents.

The nursing home my mom is in had a bad outbreak of covid a few months ago. It seemed everyone made it through ok. I know mom just had cold like symptoms.

Did your parents see their doctor? If not, I would call and find out if they need to be seen. I'll send healing thoughts to your parents.

I'm sorry. This latest variant is supposed to be less dangerous so I hope they will get through with mild symptoms.

I’m sorry, I know you must be pretty worried. I hope it stays fairly mild (agree, have her call doc ASAP because it needs to be started within 5 days of symptoms) and that your Dad doesn’t catch it.

Oh dear! I worry with that with my 93 year old, but she doesn't go much any more, but do worry about others bringing it to her. She is fully vaccinated, so I hope for the best.
I will pray your mom heals quickly and your dad does not get it! And your son too, as he could have been exposed since you all were together for the birthday celebrations. {{{Hugs}}}

I hope they call their doctors and get some medication to help them!
Since your mom has Covid she shouldn’t be going out anywhere so hopefully she will wear the oxygen!
Best wishes for both of them!
