Did all my grocery shopping today. Had to hunt down some buttermilk but everything else was in stock. I need to buy a ton of gift cards but I have time.

I'm more ready than not ready so hopefully I'll get through my To-Do list tonight and tomorrow and be ready for the 24th.

One more gift to wrap, then that’s done. DS#1 arrives tonight so we’ll do the tree tomorrow along with making tourtiere. Also tomorrow, the last of the groceries, all the produce.
DH is still not feeling great. He’s wearing a mask as he’s coughing quite a bit. Sigh.

My DH and son did a small exchange last night since we are traveling tomorrow to spend the week with my best friend since 1979!!! and her family.
I will cook for Christmas morning so will go to the grocery store tomorrow in CA to get the needed ingredients. I will wrap some gifts that I had shipped there. Other than that, I am ready to enjoy!

I just have one gift left to wrap. I am making my Christmas Day desserts tomorrow. And finish cleaning most of it is already done. To be honest thankfully my husband has been off so he was huge help this week as I have been too sick to hardly do anything. He made all our cookies this year and took care of dinner all week along with our wrapping.

This is me most years. Way ahead until I'm not. Lol COVID hit the extended family part of plans so it'll be just the 4 of us, me and the "kids" so...easier but with too much food.

Ready. We have the inlaws side tomorrow and then my side the next two days. I have a couple things made and a couple more to make but I have all the ingredients. Things are gathered and reminder lists are made for each day so I don't forget anything. Presents are done. My DD and boyfriend came home today, for 4 days!!

Pretty much done. I just remembered I have a couple of stocking things that should probably have been wrapped today when DD was at school. Now I’ll have to wait until she’s holed up in her room playing online games with her friends so I can sneak them out of the hall closet without her noticing.
Gifts are otherwise all bought and wrapped. Cookies were mostly done weeks ago. The ones for DD’s friends and homeroom teacher were made on Wednesday and distributed yesterday at school. Groceries were bought on Tuesday. Turkey is thawing in the garage fridge (and isn’t my responsibility anyway). Christmas PJs are made and wrapped. Tree is up (and as decorated as it’s going to be, which consists of three elves that are “afraid” of the big dog, one set of Woot! Bag of Crap lights that my brother gave me and two pieces of ribbon that DD threw on the tree). Outside lights other than the ones that stay on the house were put up weeks ago.
The only other thing left to do is my family holiday baking but I wouldn’t do that this early. I need to make a pumpkin pie and some bread or rolls on Sunday. Everything else is done and ready to go.

Not sure. I guess maybe a 6. I have pretty much let everything go for this year except sending Christmas cards (out on Monday) and presents. I think I have most things. I need to wrap stuff and get creative with some cards and money giving/wrapping. Maybe make a dip. The food comes last as it is not really necessary. I need to make a card and drop off a little something for some friends. I am sure there is other stuff that will come up. We will celebrate Sunday the 24th so I need to be ready by then.

I’m way behind…but not my fault! I took this week off to wrap, bake, cook, decorate, make a couple of t-shirts and other gifts with my silhouette , etc but Mother Nature had other ideas. We had a hurricane level storm run through the province on Monday and we just got power back tonight (Friday). I am doing Christmas with my mom, brother and his family tomorrow in the next province so drove up today and have everything ready for that gathering. SO had to stay home to monitor/refill the generator as our temps are in the pipe-freezing range, so disappointed he couldn’t join us. Had we known the power would come back tonight instead of the estimate of 11pm tomorrow night we might have chanced it. I will drive home Sunday and do a few things to catch up in food prep but I’ll let most of the other things on the list fall by the wayside. There will just be me, SO and DD24 and since we loaded up on mimosa fixings no one will complain about the other things! I was able to do most of my wrapping, no power required, and just have a few small things left to do.

I have known it is coming and yet I still feel like I have a couple weeks, not days. So everyone's gift is going to be late this year other than the ones I got ready for parties and thus had a firm deadline for!
Oh well, no one will be shocked 🤭
Dinner was done a long time ago though, I ordered frozen Malnati's deep dish pizzas. I usually order Giordano's, I'll have to see if these are better or the same.

Leaving in the am for DFW for in-laws. Everything is in the entry ready to put in our vehicle. Drive home Christmas Eve, then to Austin on Christmas. Those presents and packed stockings are in a Santa sack downstairs ready to go. Heck, I even thought to put a trash bag in the Santa Sack. *pats self on back*.

4 presents left to wrap, one batch of pizzelle cookies to make, and one batch of cake pops to make. I’m feeling ok! My neighbor dropped off pizzelles this morning. Soooo good! I need to wrap grandkid gifts today, but otherwise cookies are done, handcrafted gifts made and distributed, and cards sent. I just do stockings for the kids - so only wrapping for grands makes it much easier. I picked up some last minute Smashmallows yesterday for DD to give to her kids.

Plans totally changed last night. Dd, boyfriend and 4 grands are going to be at my house, Christmas 4pm. So, I along with with a couple thousand people, were at HEB this morning at 7 am. I have a ton to do, but that is fine with me.

This is what is nice sometimes about having divorced families. You can spread it out over days/weeks instead of having to have everything just so for one single day. It's nice to have some downtime in between the party times and also you can more than one party time.
My family celebrated last night. Today we are open and I will wrap gifts for Jeremy's family tomorrow. I will put the food together tomorrow for dinner in the morning so I only have to pop in the oven.
I will pick up a quick gift for my dad at the liquor store today while I'm buying my wine. And we will see him very low-key at my sister's for dinner on Monday. He's easy because he only stays for a few hours. And we never have to go to a lot of trouble to entertain him.
We will be home most of the day Monday just the two of us. It will be nice.

I’m done. Anything done from now is extra.
Not sure if DH will do cookies this year. Having been forced into being Gluten Free, I can’t eat them. Damn, forgot about Mom’s sugar cookies.
The rest of the family still need to buy gifts and wrap. DH bitched about $, so anything for Dad is now on him.

I have done nothing. The only sign of Christmas here is the display of Christmas cards from friends like you folks and family. I really feel next year I will have a much better handle on my life. don, That is perfectly ok. Your family will only care about YOU, not gifts. I've scaled back a lot. I like decorating, so I did that. I made one of my favorite cookies and one batch of my grandson's favorite. That's it. Several adults are getting cash, so easy.

We’re done because the celebrating has already started. We are back in WA with DH’s family, first time since 2018!, which cuts out a lot of the prep work, since we aren’t expected to contribute to food. We did our Christmas before we left. In-laws (parents and sister’s family) we did last night. Christmas Eve is one half of extended and all we need to do is show up. Christmas Day is other half and the exchange gifts are wrapped. In some ways the in-laws are stress (lots of socializing for an introvert) but when it comes to necessary work it’s so much easier than when I have to do everything when it’s DH, my Dad and me.

Nothing wrapped, no trees up, need grocery list and shop. But the POD is empty (the house is an unpacked mess), and the paint on the fireplace/hearth is drying. My Covid seems to be letting up today. Meanwhile my mom and sister can’t wait for me to hostess Christmas Eve! 🙄 my dad was vague on if he’s coming then or earlier! WTF? First Christmas with oldest away, he’s stationed in HI). It’s all good. Sigh Chickens are still living in the garage cuz there’s 🦉🦉roosted in a tree out back and a family of 5! 🦝🦝🦝🦝🦝 wandering through the yard. New coop needs to be Fort Knox! Ex had a car wreck into his truck at a stoplight, which can’t even get a body estimate until Jan…meanwhile the car oldest left behind for his college sister to start driving blew a head gasket and needs a new engine. 🤑 Merry Christmas falalalalala 🙄🤪🎄 Sure hope it ❄️ tomorrow! Oh and I’d tell mom and sis to pack sand but I want to have a nice Christmas for my 5 yo niece. Sister’s house is empty/torn up for renovations while her belongings arrive from overseas in Feb and Mom’s tiny apartment is getting packed up for her move in Jan. And Dad is a hoarder with two uninhabitable for guests dwellings. It’s me or no one. Wait! Your son is stationed in HI? What branch? My son is there --- he's stationed at Schofield. He’s in the Navy and stationed at Pearl Harbor. Has duty Christmas Eve. We couldn’t miss him more or be more proud! 💙💛⚓️

I finished everything but cooking the big meal (tomorrow) exactly 168 hours (a week) early. Giving myself a 10/10 score. This week I have been spending time with the family and just enjoying the time off and no stress.
