and probably will be for Christmas.
Long story, short, I brought him to the ER Sunday morning in terrible pain. They suspected his gallbladder. Admitted him and ran a slew of tests. Decided it was just inflamed, gave him antibiotics and sent him home Monday afternoon.
He worked T-W-TH, after work Thursday he was in terrible pain. Far worse than Sunday. Back to the ER we go. He was yelling out from the pain and crying. More tests. Morphine. Dilaudid. Zofran. Again, suspected his gallbladder. Admitted him. Found gallstones and sludge in his gallbladder there were not there Monday. Did want to do removal surgery but he has cirrhosis and it's progressing so the liver isn't stable enough for the surgery, making the mortality rate very high.
They are going to put a drain in his gallbladder to try and get rid of the fluids. If that helps, it might allow the liver to withstand the gallbladder surgery.
So here we are, Saturday afternoon, he's still having bad pain and we've not heard back from the doctor(since 10:30 this morning )was to when they are going to place the drain.
So, we wait.

I’m so sorry. This sounds so painful for him. I hope the doctors are able to remove the gallbladder soon and he has a safe, speedy recovery.

Sorry your DH is in serious pain and stuck in the hospital. May they make some decisions and alleviate the pain, fix it or let him go home!

How horrible. I hope they can get his pain under control and that the drain helps and they are able to remove it safely.

I'm so sorry for both of you. I hope his Drs. can get his pain level under control and that their treatment plan works so they can successfully remove his gall bladder.

I'm so sorry. Holidays are the worst time to be in the hospital (not that there is really a good time). I hope he's able to go home soon, pain free

Oh no, how awful! I think if I heard my DSO yelling out in pain, it would really freak me out. Are you doing okay? I hope your husband recovers quickly and is able to come home soon.

I am so very sorry he’s going through such a painful experience, and I’m also so sorry for you having to experience him being in such pain. I hope hope hope the drain works beautifully and he gets to get his gallbladder addressed!

My brother had something very similar a few weeks ago and the stent helped a lot, hopefully that will be the same for your DH. Best wishes to him and you.

Oh, how awful to be in that level of pain! Hoping the drain helps a lot. This has to be very hard for you to deal with. I cannot imagine seeing my sweet DH in that much pain---HUGS!  |

I'm sorry. No good time to be in the hospital but Christmas is the worst for all. I hope his situation is resolved quickly. I can never understand why they can't diagnose a gallbladder attack the first time in the ER. But this has happened to so many people I know including my DH.
