What kind of 3d printer did you get? this is on DS's list and after a lean Christmas for him this year I need to step up my game. Creality Ender 3 V3 SE . It’s a fairly new model with rave reviews. Very easy to use as it has auto leveling. I bought it with 1kg of Overture PLA filament for just under $200. My family found a deal for even less.

We did a big disney trip with 2 of the adult children, their spouses and children. We told them that character meals or table reservation meals were their Christmas gifts. Everyone had also got small disney gift cards to buy themselves something while they were there. It was actually more than we would've spent on Christmas otherwise, but my DDs, one in particular, seemed disappointed they only got stockings to open on Christmas Eve. DH says if we ever do another joint trip, they're picking up their own tabs. Wow, that is rude! If I recall correctly, your dd's are old enough not to act that way.

We don't exchange Christmas gifts with anyone so this wasn't technically a Christmas gift. I did it for a quilt guild challenge and a gift for my bff. It just happened to fall in December. I was a little apprehensive to give this to her. She is a crocheter and already had a coverlet for her bed. She was surprised and thrilled. She said she had always wanted one of my quilts and didn't want to ask. She immediately went and put it on her bed. The challenge was to use the Carolina Lily block in a quilt. As soon as I picked the first fabric from my stash, I knew it was for her. I typically make gifts for babies and weddings but why not just because? (Photos taken at my house.) OhMY!!! Can I be your friend?

I've seen some Christmas haul tiktoks, and there is one girl who adds up what these hauls total. It is MIND BOGGLING, one girl's haul was $6k and another was $10k! $10K!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a lot of the items were high end makeup and clothing, like $300 sweatpants! There were some LV purses and purfumes too, but my mouth hung open in shock. Now when I see them I scroll on by. I bring this up bc I think I would much rather have a really cool dining experience at WDW than a $300 pair of sweatpaints! LOL. I really think teens/young adults are getting desensititzed to reality on what things cost.

Not really any hits or misses, our family doesn’t really do much in the way of gifts.
The one biggest hit wasn’t a Christmas gift. I had a fairly extensive collection of Department 56 Dickens Village pieces. I hadn’t displayed them since we moved into this house about 10 years ago. There really isn’t any room. This year in November I gave them all to my daughter-in-law. She was thrilled to have them. She and my son had given me several pieces over the years. The one who was the most excited was my 17 year old granddaughter. She didn’t remember seeing the village at my old house. she was over the moon excited. That filled my heart with joy, knowing someday they will get to go to someone who will love them as much as I do.

One big hit was a gift I got for my cousin's wife. She had sent links to a couple things she wanted. One was a set of Orla Kiely cake tins that she said she’d been wanting for a while, almost bought them a couple times, but now they were sold out everywhere.
She wasn’t sure if the site she linked was going to get more, but I told her that they had let me put in my email to be notified when they were back in stock, so maybe a gift certificate for that site would work.
But, I did a search and found out they were not sold out in the UK, found a store that had them and ships to the US and ordered them. They shipped fast and responded quickly when Customs wanted more information, and they arrived well in time.
The look on her face when she was unwrapping the gift and realized what the print on the side of the box said was priceless. She was so surprised, and so happy. It made me happy to see how excited she was to get them.

My biggest miss was my white elephant gift. It was a tiny little slingshot with a sticky poop emoji---which should have been a huge hit in my house, BUT, the blasted slingshot didn't actually work, LOL! So, bah humbug! Otherwise, we believe in wish lists in my house so my life is a lot easier. They don't know exactly what they may get, but they at least know it ought to be somewhat similar in nature to things they really want/need. And due to illness, I haven't been able to give out gifts to most people outside my house yet. So those can possibly be trickier gifts most years, and I have yet to deliver most of them.

I love the heated throw so much that a friend gave me I might just hibernate under it all winter! It’s perfect while reading new books also received at Christmas.
