I'm just curious. Here in the UK's south west, we haven't had a white Christmas for... I actually can't remember. This year has been the mildest Christmas since the 1970s, with temperatures topping 15*C/60*F. I saw people going for their post-Christmas-dinner walks wearing t-shirts and shorts. Crazy.
Where are/were you and did you have snow?

We did not have snow in Central Oklahoma, which is not unusual. We only have a few snow days a year, so if we do have a white Christmas it’s very exciting. It was unseasonably warm on Christmas, but now the predicted highs for the week ahead are in the 40s.

Munich, Germany. We had a major snow dump the first weekend of December - 40 cm deep in 24 hours! Then it all melted away over the following week as the temperatures climbed. The week leading up to Christmas, our temperatures were edging up to 10C, so no chance of snow. In the 14 years I’ve lived here, I think we’ve had 2 or 3 white Christmases. When we get snow, it is more likely in late January or early February.

There was no snow on the ground and high temps in the high 40’s-low 50’s around Christmas in MN. We don’t always have snow but it’s not typically that warm. It finally snowed enough to stick a couple days ago, but only about an inch or so on the ground. My snowmobile loving DH isn’t too happy about it either.

Southern Ontario. We're not a terribly snowy place, about 66% white Christmases and only inches, never feet.
It has been high 40s here the past couple of weeks, absolutely no significant snowfall yet. Until last night - 3" surprised fell between 8pm and midnight and when we went outside to do sparklers it was a shock!

East Coast of Canada and a green Christmas. We did get a light snowfall 2 days ago so everything looks lovely, and that’s enough snow for me! Unfortunately I’m sure there will be more to come.

I’m in MN and it has been unseasonable warm so far. Typically in the upper 20’s or 30’s. Minimal snow.

I'm in Florida - there's only ever been one white Christmas here in recorded times...1989

We could have had a white Christmas if we had gone to my Dad's as planned for Christmas Day. Instead, we had a rainy Christmas at home. We didn't want to risk getting snowed-in in Nebraska (or worse, sliding off the roads since it was rain, then snow, and strong winds) so we cut our trip short and came home on Christmas Eve.

No white Christmas in Connecticut, which isn't unusual. Historically, significant snowfalls tend to come in Jan/Feb, but this seems to be our second untypically warm winter with highs in the 40s-50s. I've still been finding ticks on my dog and never had to worry about this before. Haven't seen a winter with lasting snow cover in years.

No snow in Indiana for Christmas. It was actually in the low 50's.

Alberta Canada. There was a bit of snow but it was a brown Christmas. My FB memory showed 2012 was the same. I remember 1999, the year we moved into our house was brown. There is a picture of my dad and I on Christmas in 1984 with no snow. All were El Nino years. It's been above freezing most days, it's so nice out. Nice to wear the shackets that it'susually too warm in fall for then it just goes in to winter. By Saturday we should get a taste of winter, it will be -23C/-9F.

Not really. I'm in northern MN, and it's been very mild. We did get a dusting of snow over new yrs eve day, but there is still a lot of brown showing. And then there is of course the non-freezing lakes and all the morons trying to ice fish and getting stranded.

Pretty rare where I live in East Tennessee. I believe a Christmas Eve snow in 2020 was our last Christmas snow.

San Francisco Bay Area. No snow! Have experienced 3 white Christmases over the years, in Washington and Virginia. Beautiful! But I’m always happy to return to our mild winter climate 😊

It's almost unheard of for South Carolina. We had rain this year.

There is snow on the hills and it was playing havoc with the transport last week but none fell here on Christmas Day and we are still green, thankfully. It's so mild I had the windows open this morning.

Very very rare for coastal So Cal to get snow. So, no white Christmas here.
One year we had a nice layer of ice that stuck around for about 30 minutes. The hail sounded like it was going to put holes in the roof. That is the closest to “snow” we’ve had in this area.

Seattle gets occasional snow (maybe once or twice a year), but December was pretty mild and we didn't get it this year.

No snow for Christmas here in Calgary, Alberta ... the weather has been so warm ... above zero every day in December ... great for driving so people like me who live in the city love it but the farmers are crying for precipitation! The opposite of last year when our temperatures were in the -20's Celsius ... it was the worst!

For the most part no. Vermont temperatures got up to around 45F. We also had a ton of rain the week before that washed away anything we had.
Add that to having one of the warmest December’s on record. No white Christmas here.

Nope - The Pacific NW has been incredibly dry and warm.
The ski resorts are suffering.

This was my second year here in Oregon and there was no snow over Christmas. I don’t know what normal for this area, so I have no idea if a white Christmas has ever happened in this neighborhood. It did snow a few times last year, but only a light snow that didn’t stick around for very long. I was honestly hoping for more. We had a couple of days that we had a layer of ice all over everything, which I could do without. I stayed inside those days because I have a fear of falling.
I am looking forward to seeing what this new year brings. We have had lots of rain last year, which I personally love, unless I need to do a big grocery run. If there is a week of solid rain predicted and I really need to food shop, I use Instacart for my Costco purchases. While I love the rain, and don’t even mind driving in it, I don’t like loading and unloading the groceries in pouring rain. I tried bringing a new, cheap shower curtain in my purse to drape over the cart so that everything didn’t get soaked. That worked nicely for the groceries and I even had several people comment on the idea as I was walking to my car, but the hatch on my Forester isn’t that big and didn’t keep me out of the rain while loading the back of the car. Driving home in soaking wet jeans was not a nice experience. Even with the rarely ever used heated seat turned on. Now I either try to time my trips better or just go with Instacart. Just opening the door to my covered porch and carrying things into the house is such a luxury. And I like knowing that I am helping to provide a little bit of income to the shopper.

A few years ago it snowed during the day on Christmas. That is the only white Christmas I've ever had.

No, but we dont a lot if years. People here bitch and bitch about not having a white Christmas, but I think we only do about 40% of the time. January and February are our snowy, cold months

We have snow on the ground, yes, but it didn’t snow on Christmas Eve or Day, and that’s my definition of a true White Christmas.
ETA: We only have about 6” of snow, which is extremely weird for us right now. I’m in Utah, near Park City.

LOL no white Christmas in Houston. We’re just glad it’s been cool and non-humid over the holidays. Gorgeous Texas “winter” weather right now.

I’m in northwestern Illinois. We had rain on Christmas and temps in the 50s.
We’ve had a bit of snow since then, but it melted on the concrete areas right away, only stuck to grass and dirt areas for a day or two.
