I'm sorry it's such a financial burden, but very happy to hear it's treatable! Wishing you both the best.

I'm so sorry. I'm glad that its treatable. But I'm sorry about the financial issues. Hopefully your dad will be able to help at some point, even behind her back or something. I truly don't understand people. Anyway, will keep you and your husband in my good thoughts.

I'm glad it is treatable, but I totally understand the stress. I would talk to your employer to see if you can get him added since he lost his insurance. They may tell you no, but you don't know unless you ask.

Such a timely thread. DH and I just met with his oncologist this morning to get his diagnosis. We knew he had lymphoma but we didn't know what type. He's been through a gamut of test to pinpoint it down and we finally have a treatment plan. Positive thoughts heading your way. If he does and lymphoma and need a lending ear from someone who's going through the same thing please PM me! Lymphoma is such a treatable cancer but this is still all very scary! I'm sorry that we all have to go through it. Hugs!

Updated in original post! Talk with your dh's social worker as well as call state insurance. They will be able to assist with any plans available. And sometimes hospitals can write off treatments. You can also speak with patient relations of medical group/hospital to see what they can offer. DH went on the healthcare.gov website and found a plan that he qualifies for. It will go into effect on Feb. 1st. I can't put him my insurance because I already used the loss of job to be on my insurance. If I had added him it was going to over 1,000$ a month. That's a third of my monthly pay. Also we didn't think he would be unemployed for so long...it's been a year. My open enrollment period is August 1st.

I am so happy so see that your husband’s doctors feel this is totally treatable. I am really saddened to see that family will not loan you the money necessary.
Can you go ahead and buy a policy independently now? I thought that with what some people were calling Obama Care, that a preexisting condition didn’t matter. I know my son was able to get coverage with it after being turned down for years due to childhood cancer. I had him on my policy until he turned 27, but then he kept getting denied. He was finally able to get covered with a private Obama Care policy. He got the most basic of coverage, but then once he had that coverage, they were able to get him covered by his fiancé’s work policy.
