I got a new cat who came with the name Fred. In some ways I like it but I'm not 100% sure on it so I'm looking for some other suggestions. I'll post a photo of him in a minute. I kind of like people names. My last cats were Isabel, Roxy, and Gus.

He’s is very handsome. I kinda like Fred (or Freddie), it seems to suit him. Is he already used to his name? Congrats on your new Kitty!

He's gorgeous! Is he used to the name Fred? Or is he young enough to adapt to a new name? Frederick when he is prim and proper. Freddy when he is playful and goofy. LOL
Congrats to him on adopting such a nice human!

I have a neighbour with several cats and she also likes human names. She has Dennis, Arthur, Cody and Elliot. (Which always amuses me as that’s DS’s name!) 😄

I think he looks like a... Fred! The only other name that came to me was "Chance" based on his alert watching through the window looking for a chance to catch something he sees out there. Because of his shadowy coat and the fact that he follows you around, "Shadow" might work, too.

My DD has four cats. The boys are Bob and Charlie. A previous boy was Ed. I really like Charlie. ( both the name and the cat. Ha. He’s six month old and totally adorable.)

I'm so glad you got a new kitty--he's beautiful! He looks like a Miles to me.

He's a really pretty cat and he's playful. Oh, you're going to have so much happiness w/him. At first I thought of Gladys Kravitz. "Abneh. Abneh". So, Abner? Not sure if you've seen Bewitched.

Love people names for pets! We had a tiger cat named Carlos. Other suggestions - Stanley, Walter, Eugene, Russell, Daniel (a nod to Mr. Rogers).
Enjoy your new guy!

. A tabby - my favorite! While Fred is a good name, I would consider Hank. That's what popped in my mind when I saw him. Beautiful boy!

Freddie, as in Mercury. 😊
How about Emmett? It was what I wanted for Nico, but DH nixed it.

I kind of like people names. My last cats were Isabel, Roxy, and Gus. Kevin. He’s definitely a Kevin. My son-in-law named Kevin said that he’s tired of people naming their pets Kevin. This was said after a trip to the vet and there was a parrot named Kevin there. I have a dog named Kenny and I love that name for him. I think it’d work for a handsome striped cat like this one.

He is handsome. I like Fred too. Fredrick Thomas sounds good should he ever be naughty and you need to be firm. Not that he could ever be naughty. He is too cute. But just in case.

Give it time, the perfect name just might pop out of your mouth.
My neice rehomed her cat to us. She had found him abandoned in a cemetery, so she named him Lucky.
His personality was that of that chill friend from college that couch surfs among his friends, just doing his own thing.
One day he wandered into the room and I said "What's up, Jack?" And he gave me this little chin lift that said "'Sup?"
That's how he became Jack to our family.
Of course, I may not be the best person to give advice on naming cats. We once had a cat with an adjective for a name. Seriously.
Seriously, the cat's name was Seriously.
I eventually agreed to add the name Dave as a middle name after the strange looks at the vet when they called out for Seriously XXX.

How about Linus, Henry, Ricky, or George? MIL had a black tuxedo cat named Linus who was the coolest cat ever. He acted like a dog and would even play fetch with you! Fred isn’t a bad name for a cat, IMO. After thinking about it a minute, I think because he’s stripey I would call him Hobbes like from Calvin and Hobbes.
