USA
2nd USA link Australia
Canada
If the links don’t work for you, type “first reads” in the Amazon search bar, but don’t add the date because that pulls up a whole list of books. Or into Google/search type “Amazon First Reads (month) (year)” to get a more direct link.

For my first book I chose and read the domestic thriller Last Night by Luanne Rice. I’ve never read one of her books before and it was getting great ratings. Really enjoyed the storyline, though it does have more POVs than I typically prefer.
Now to decide for book #2. Have y’all read any of them yet, what did you think?

I thought I had missed this thread.
I got The Bad Weather Friend and The Impssible Brightness. I was tempted by almost all of them though!

I picked them a few days ago. Have some virus that forced me to call off 3 days. I can only remember part of yesterday…managing the puppy.
So, I picked them Wednesday by ratings. I should have left it until my brain is actually functioning.

Have any of you read Mayluna or This Impossible Brightness? I’m still trying to decide on my second book. Thank you! 💙 I have been awake most of the day, so counting it as progress. I mean, maybe not so much progress if you’re just more awake to fully appreciate how crappy you feel

I’ve been a Prime member for years and have never checked out the freebie books. I have a Kobo so I guess I’ll have to download the Kindle app to read on my iPad or phone?
Thanks for sharing!

I’m not familiar with Kobo, is that a device like the Kindle? I read almost exclusively on my iPad, but when I’m not getting service I pull the app up on DH’s phone and pick right up where I left off. He’s got a much bigger screen than I do. Prime also allows you to borrow up to 10 books at a time from their (admittedly limited) library.

We don’t have those here either But I looked them up and it seems they’re your version of our Barnes and Noble. They’re our largest bookstore and have their own ereader as well, the Nook.

That looks interesting. If you finish it before the end of the month, please come back and let us know how you liked it. Yes, please. Any books actually! These come out on Kindle Unlimited the month after they’re released as a free book so I can read it if I want. I ended up choosing The Impossible Brightness. I’m hoping the way the blurb is written is hinting at a supernatural component.

Just a quick update to give some feedback for those who haven’t chosen both books yet. I’m about 20% through The Impossible Brightness and am loving it. There is a supernatural element like I hoped for, I love the story and really like the characters, especially the main character.

You don’t have to go home but you can’t stay here… I finished The Impossible Brightness and am really glad I picked that one. A lot different than what I usually read, even with the supernatural element. Not typical supernatural at all, very cool.
