Hi everyone! Posting from the land of the freezing! It's -34 degrees Celsius here today. I think it is supposed to be this cold tomorrow so I won't be going anywhere tomorrow either ... Tuesday it warms up and I need to run some errands! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I could never be vegan ... I don't eat a lot of meat but I love me some cheese and yogurt! This meme does make me crave KFC though ... maybe I'll order that for dinner tonight! My day will be spent doing little to nothing ... I might take a bubble bath to mix things up a bit! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

I am trying to eat less meat. Not necessarily vegan but some days work out that way. But I'm shooting for vegetarian. For me, it's due to health reasons.
I would take your frozen tundra for sure. This morning it was -3 F outside which Google tells me is -19.5 for you guys. I'm standing outside half dressed right now because I had a hot flash while drying my hair. I'm roasting.
I'm trying to get two months worth of scrapbooking done today in my PL book. I think I will run out of photo paper.
I'm making a soup with black lentils and parsnips for dinner. I think I have some random carrot and onion to throw in there as well.

My MIL went home yesterday afternoon. Today I woke up early and swept, mopped and did 3 loads of laundry. Bedsheets are in dryer right now and that will be the end of that. Hoping to relax the rest of the afternoon.
For dinner we might order in some pizza.

Happy Sunday everyone. Still cold here and icy, but it warmed up to 0C today and we might even hit positive temperatures tomorrow! Yay!
This morning I rang my dad, as it is his birthday. He’s 87, which is a decent age. He did sound tired, but with what has been going on with stepmum, that’s not surprising. She will be moving to a rehab facility for a week or so on Tuesday, as she needs to regain strength after all that she’s been through. I reminded my boys last night to call their nonno and this morning DS1 sent me a video of his girls, with Sophia doing a wonderful rendition of Happy Birthday for her great-Nonno that I am sure would have cheered him up.
Apart from that, church, my Sunday school class, then DH dropped me home before heading to the airport to fly to Sweden. He’ll be back late on Thursday, so I am on my own for a few days. This afternoon I’ve been knitting and binging Call the Midwife and an Agatha Christie series on TV. Just enough going on not to be bored, but not enough to need constant attention.
Dinner is chicken. I have just looked in the cupboard and it will be Thai green curry, Singapore Nonya curry or Kung Pao chicken. I’ll decide when it’s time to cook.

We just walked in a fine mist. Not as cold as yesterday but we still needed to be bundled up. I opened a big bottle of olive oil last night and when I poured it out it was green. They somehow put avocado oil in instead of olive. For some reason I still have the receipt from the 2nd so I'll be taking it back to exchange. I don't use avocado oil enough to justify a $19 bottle. Dinner might be salmon.

I have a puzzle that needs attention. I was awake at 4am and couldn't really fall back to sleep. So, I'm dragging a bit. Ods is picking up my grocery order on his way home to visit. So, it's another quiet day. Tmw I have to do a return at Macys. So, I'll wait to go out until then. Dh will be watching football today. I'll hang out w/him.
Dh is gonna have chicken fried rice for dinner. He has a new recipe that he wants to try.
Enjoy a run, relaxing and nice day. Stay warm, frozen peas.

I think ds is going to go to his friend's new house to watch the first football game and wont be home for dinner. He will come home for our game. So want this to go our way!

We bought all the rest of the wood needed for the trim for the fireplace and DH is putting it up now. I need to decide on a paint colour since that will be the next step. Our livingroom walls are coffee brown colour so I’m thinking a cream colour for the shiplap. DH refuses to help me pick a colour because he’s made some bad paint colour decisions in the past!
It’s -11 C here. Now instead of mud in the dog, we are dealing with little snowballs attached to his fur when he comes inside. He loves the snow and the cold.
Supper will be egg salad on a bagel, raw veggies/dip and a salad.

Ds and I went to Walmart and the grocery store this morning. I needed packing tape and more boxes. I’ve now packed most of my scrapbooking stuff (except what is stored in hard plastic cases) and moved it all into ds’s room. My Kallax cubes are empty except for the cloth bins in 4 spaces. Tomorrow IKEA is delivering my new Kallax for the living room. It will stay in the garage until after the floors are done.
Dinner is creamy one pot sausage pasta. Easy and very tasty!

Dinner last night (at the Japanese fusion place) was fabulous as always. DD and I are going to watch the Barbie movie tonight and I guess we’ll pick up Thai food to eat while we watch. To be followed by all the chocolate in the house. Weather is nicer today. Thank goodness.

Woke up to -7F. It has now made it to 0F. We ventured out this morning to see two DGS's play basketball.
Cleaned, did laundry now getting ready to make a couple of different soups to freeze. I like to take soup to work in the winter.
Dinner will be taco soup.

lucyg, I'll be curious to see what you thought about the Barbie movie. I was soooo disappointed. I told dh that I had to watch it, again, because I must have missed the part where it deserved a Golden Globe nomination.

Cover your eyes, lucyg. leannec, I should have asked you about your opinion after I watched it, because I remember that you also couldn't wait to see it. Soooo disappointing. I almost turned it off, but kept thinking that it would get better.

Happy Sunday!
It was a very quiet day around here. I picked up a grocery order and Chipotle for lunch. My sister and brother went to our local Tex-Mex place for lunch so I met them and had a margarita since I had already had lunch.
I'm taking chili over to my sister's to watch the Cowboys game. Tomorrow I will finally take down decorations!
Hope you all have a great Day!

Hi Everyone, leannec Stay warm. Your meme is cute. jeremysgirl I hope you got some scrapbooking done and your soup sounds tasty. bklyngal62 Good for you getting everything done so you can relax. sueg Happy Birthday to your Dad. I hope your Stepmum gets moved on Tuesday. How sweet for Sophia to sing to her Great-Nonno. I hope you enjoy your day and your dinner sounds delicious. cadoodlebug Who is the manufacturer of the olive oil? That’s very strange. scrapmaven I bet you are dragging. I can’t stand when I wake up that early and can’t go back to sleep. Enjoy working on your puzzle. All of my friends who saw the movie didn’t like it either. taylortroop I love reading your updates on your fireplace. I hope you share pictures. I know what you are talking about with the little snowballs. Our little guy gets them across the entire length (from tail to neck) of his body when he goes out in the snow. And sometimes they are hard to get off of him. KelleeM I am so glad you got your scrapbook room packed up. I know it’s a lot of work; but once your house is finished; you are going to love it. Your dinner sounds delicious. lucyg I wish we had a good Thai food restaurant nearby. I love it. Enjoy watching the movie with your DD. Tearisci It’s so nice that you were able to meet your siblings for lunch. ntsf I am so glad that you’re getting ready to go Sun Valley for 2 months. I hope that you enjoy skiing and bring everything you need for the trip. Yesterday, I didn’t get a chance to post because I was finishing taking down my Christmas decor. Because of my back, I took short breaks and then kept going to finish it. Wouldn’t you know, this morning while I was having my coffee, I saw my gingerbread train sitting in my kitchen window. So I made sure I packed that up before I went to church so that all of the boxes could be taken down to the basement. My living room is now back to normal. And it feels good to have it back this way. DH did vacuum some of the room; but I don’t think he vacuumed around the fireplace. Last night we had Chinese takeout. So that is what is for dinner tonight. This morning I went to church and then went out to breakfast with my girlfriends. We haven’t done that in quite a while. I came home and ended up taking a little nap. My boys are doing laundry because they are getting ready to go back to school tomorrow. My youngest thinks he’s going back on Tuesday in a snowstorm. I’m not too thrilled but when you’re 18 you know it all. So we will see if he misses first day of classes. I hope all of you have a peaceful rest of the day.

ntsf , do you ski? Tahoe is gorgeous. Enjoy your road trip. Darcy Collins , you had me at your dd's college choice. As an undergrad ds wanted to apply just so that he could tell people that he got rejected from that school. Then in grad school he got some big science fellowship and now he can go wherever he wants, including that school, but he's choosing to stay where he is and finish his Ph.D. If your dd was smart enough and worked hard enough to get in then sing it loud and proud. Her mama is her biggest fan.
destined2bmom, take it very easy tonight and maybe even tmw. Give your back time to rest after your day of taking down the decorations. I wish you a great night's sleep.

It's funny cause my daughter did not apply or want to go as an undergrad - but she's definitely struggling now to turn down as a post-bacc. I'm thinking but this other opportunity is exactly what you want to research.... ugh! I'm sitting here in my glass house as I know I was a terrible prestige chaser at her age - it's only later we realize how shallow it is, but it's her journey and I support whatever she decides and biting my tongue until it bleeds!!!

cadoodlebug Who is the manufacturer of the olive oil? That’s very strange. California Cobram Estate Oh wow! Cobram Estate is one of our customers at work. I only ever buy their olive oil. Up until the last two Christmases, they would send us boxes of oil at Christmas time. I didn't have to buy oil for most of the year! This was our haul a few years ago: I assumed they were an Australian company. I just looked up the American site, and they have an Australia Select range as well as the range grown in California. My favourite of the flavoured oils (how do I choose a favourite?!) is the garlic and rosemary one. I use it all the time.

Ha, I got so excited about olive oil, I forgot to mention dinner! I had rechauffe salmon risotto. I added two cubes of heaven aka marinated goat cheese to it, and it was soooooo bloody good! I will have the last of it for lunch.

That’s a big boo boo on their part. destined2bmom don’t you know you know nothing about weather and driving conditions. I hope he makes it safely back. We’ve been trying to weatherproof our French doors to no avail. They have ice forming on them. They clearly aren’t installed correctly. This led to me checking all the caulk on the windows and repairing some of that. Exciting stuff here today. I made a shrimp pasta with salad and Brussels sprouts. I wasn’t feeling the Brussels sprouts but they needed to be used up.

cadoodlebug I’ve never noticed my avocado oil being green so when I finally get home tomorrow I’m going to check. Raley's didn't even look at my receipt to prove I bought it there. I'm on a first name basis with the clerk and I could tell she was a tad skeptical but let me swap it out without question. I held both bottles up to the outside light and the olive oil was a pale yellow. The avocado oil was very dark.
