Congratulations to your DD and you! What an exciting time! My DS went through the interview process for MIT recently. His interviewer explained they ask alumni to interview as many applicants as possible who are local to them. I’m not sure how accurate that is. DS came away with a different perspective of MIT and it’s much further up his list now. Best of luck to your DD! Both my husband and I interviewed for a while. It's actually really tough as an alumn because of all the candidates we interviewed, none got through - and they were SO AMAZING! It's a tough admit!

We appreciated the different approach to the admission process. And it gave him a chance to ask questions he probably wouldn't have been able to ask on a campus tour. I can't imagine being an admission counselor and having to read through the enormous amount of applications but the interview process seems like it would be fun!

It's fun at first, but after seeing so many amazing candidates rejected, it wears on you. It's hard to not be rooting for them!
