I finally got my case settlement for my medical malpractice case 5 years in the making and today I paid off all of my debt! I had racked up a lot of credit card debt due to my nasty divorce and I never thought I'd see the day when I'd be out from under it. The rest will go to savings and retirement but it feels so good to be 100% debt free! Had to share

I did the same thing about a year and a half ago. My dad sold one of his rental houses and distributed the profits to my brothers and me. I paid off my house
It has enabled me to leave a toxic workplace and take a part time job. I’ve been at the new job three weeks and couldn’t be happier!

I think what you should be congratulated for is your persistence and unwillingness to give up on getting justice for what you went through. I wonder how many people give up because the process takes so long and takes so much out of them.
I'm thrilled you get a fresh start!

I wonder how many people give up because the process takes so long and takes so much out of them. I'm thrilled you get a fresh start! Thanks! It was a year ago this week that we gave depositions and then mediation a few months ago. It took the attorney over a year just to commit to the case. Med Mal cases are extremely hard to win and in Texas, we have tort reform so there are steep caps on pain and suffering. But neither side wanted to go to trial so we were finally able to settle but it was definitely a long road!
