We have been cutting down at eating out since it is just getting so expensive. I still hate to cook.. lol... but between a few friends and talking to my son, we have found some deals to grab on those days.. so far I have come up with this:
Tuesdays - Papa Murphy pizza 10.00 up to five toppings (or something close to this)
Thursdays - Boneless wings BOGO.. you can get 20 wings for $12 (something)
Friday - Papa Murphy thin pizza 5.00 (cheese, pepp, sausage) one pizza feeds three of us.
We don't do this every week but got the options so when we do grab something at least it is a deal.
Anyone else have something to share?

That's not really a meal, more like a snack type carb-loaded thing. Where are the veggies and fruits? Real protein?

Taco Bell usually has a Cravings Box for $5.99 that includes a Specialty item, a Clasic item, a side and a drink.
Del Taco has a $2 and under menu that I choose a few items for to-go and then have a drink from home.
Wendy's has what they call Biggie Bags for $5.00-7.00 depending what you choose. Its a sandwich, nuggets, side and drink.

I agree with the Taco Bell cravings box. That is the best value in fast food right now. Don't forget to look into local places too. Around me the mom & pop places usually beat the prices of the chains. For your take & bake pizza for example, we have a local place for take & bake that makes way better and bigger pizzas than Papa Murphy's and is cheaper too. Grocery store delis here too often have good deals. Savemart has hot $5 chicken pot pies this time of year that are huge and tasty. Every place has fried chicken, potato wedges, various salads that will all beat the price of KFC or similar chicken restaurants.
I guess I should thank the fast food and restaurant industry for raising prices high enough that I just refuse to buy it anymore. I'm losing weight and am surely healthier than I was 2 or 3 years ago when I had fast food lunches every day.
Now, if I am going to go out, I will happily pay a few dollars more and get real food. A baja bowl from Costa Vida is absolutely delicious, $15, gives me two meals and is approx 500 calories. Last night I had dinner out at a nice restaurant with a friend. My bill was $42 for a soda and meal. Horrifying price but I really don't care because I go out like once every 2 or 3 months to a sit down restaurant now. So I'm ok paying more for a nicer meal.

Costco is just a 5 min drive for us. We have pizza ($10, for the kids + leftovers) and poké ($18, serves two, we make rice at home) night almost once a week.
My SIL likes their prepared chicken street taco kit, too.

Safeway (grocery store, but they have a hot food take-out counter) has $5 Fridays, but I think whatever is $5 changes every week...

The Wendy's Biggie bag is a good value for $5-$7.
McDonald's has buy 1 get one for a dollar on certain items and a deal with 2 big macs, 20 pc nuggies, and 2 med fries (i think) for 22ish dollars.
And of course, the Little Caesars hot and ready, which is up to $6, I think.
I can also say that Subway has become ungodly expensive and it is disgusting. Dh and I had that last night- his footlong sub was over $14 and my 6" sub was $7. It was so so bad. It was always just ok, but now, it's gross and overpriced.

WINCO grocery stores have a ready to cook pizza for $8. We cook it on a pizza stone on the bbq for 15 minutes. We make a salad while it cooks. Not quite the same as take out but much cheaper than chain pizza places.

I saw on TT that Wendy's has a family size chili bucket and a bucket of nugs for $20. Others were reporting they were $14/each.

There is nothing wrong with pizza and chicken wings. We find our local restaurants just have better value then the chains. I was shocked last time we got McDonald's how expensive it was. I think the apps for the restaurants have the best deals though. When we do eat at a chain place we check for an app.

Ikea here in Canada has a friends and family app. Every ten meals you get one free in their restaurant. Seniors get a discount in the restaurant at Ikea on Tuesdays if you have the app. I believe they also have a deal for children’s meals on Wednesday’s if an adult purchases a meal.

Neither are boneless chicken wings. Add a salad and something healthy. Lessen the grease factor. No wonder a lot of Americans are overweight!

Oh she’s just looking for attention 🤣🤣🤣 I am stating that pizza isn't a REAL MEAL and neither are the fast food crap that is heavily fried and has a lot of caloric heavy additions. A meal is a protein, a starch/carb, fruits & veggies. Excuse me for eating better than the rest of you. Eat at your greasy spoons and then poke yourself with Ozempic and go around that circle a few times.

You can eat a somewhat healthy pizza - don’t use processed meats, use chicken instead, top it with vegetables and/or fruits (pineapple!), and make it with a thin crust. You get protein, carbs and veggies! Don’t just assume all pizzas are pepperoni and extra cheese.

There is nothing wrong with people eating pizza and chicken wings periodically. Her follow up rant about ozempic etc is beyond ridiculous.

I don't eat pizza very often because I have gluten issues, but on the occasions I do, I generally order pizza with broccoli and/or spinach and/or onion and/or mushrooms, plus it's got tomato on it already, so don't see the issue--there're your vegetables.

I do Olive Garden for lunch. They have meals for $10 or $11 dollars. I get water and fill up on the soup and breadsticks, take the entree home and I ask for a soup and breadsticks to take home (they have never had a problem with this). Less than $15 with tip and I have dinner and lunch the next day from the one meal.

Canadians don't eat pizza or come in Large sizes? 🤔 ETA I use Mounjaro (saw your other comment) and it really is a game-changer for those of us who have been riding a metabolic roller coaster since puberty...at any size. I finally "get" why it's been such hard work to maintain a normal weight all my life, regardless of diet and exercise. And why I would fall off the wagon, get back on and get fit, Fall off again, and repeat the cycle numerous times. We are all on our own path. Sometimes you get tired of fighting and choose to try another approach. Peace, friend 🪷🕊️
