Hi everyone! It's a slow morning for me today but I need to get a few groceries later and take out my recycling ... I have so much cardboard it isn't even funny! I went to see "Poor Things" yesterday with my girlfriend ... do not recommend ... that is two hours I will never get back. . So weird ... I knew it would be and I was right ... what I wasn't prepared for was the explicit nudity and sex ... it wasn't a problem for me but it could be for some people ... the cinematography and costuming were excellent but the film itself was just plain strange! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... Emma and her boyfriend went to see The Calgary Flames play last night (NHL) ... my mum won the tickets at bingo but the place isn't great for people who need to use walkers so she gave the tickets to them ... the Flames have not been playing well this season but they actually won! Dinner tonight will be the veggie stir fry I've been trying to make for days! I'm very sorry about the loss of the friend of your ds KelleeM. What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everyone!

Good morning. That's a fun photo of your dd and her bf. Your dd's are so pretty. I have to get groceries this am, too. I'll just run down the hill and be back in 15 mins. I finally have a little more pep in my step, so I've been attacking my latest puzzle. It's one of those really challenging puzzles, but I have a new gadget. It's a magnifying glass, light, puzzle scooper. It really helps these old eyes to see if certain pieces fit. If anyone is interested I'll post a link. This afternoon we'll be watching the playoffs. Dinner will either be chow mein a'la dh or tarragon chicken via me. Have a fun, relaxing day my tribe. AussieMeg, have an easy Monday and week ahead.

I'm glad you confirmed what I thought the movie was like leannec . Hollywood loves to celebrate strange, twisted movies. Cute picture! KelleeM , I'm sorry your son's best friend passed away. His poor girlfriend. We're getting ready to go for a walk. I'll spend the day doing chores and cheering for my team in the playoffs. Dinner will be Tomatillo Pork that I froze last time I made it. Yummy!!

I woke really late today - DH had to wake me at 8am. I hadn’t slept well up until 3, but once I finally fell asleep I was out! It wouldn’t be a problem except that we need to leave for church at just after 9 on days when I have First Communion class. The parents of the children are starting to get everything organised. They arranged a meeting while the kids were in class this morning and divided up the tasks between them. We even had photos after Mass ready for the Mass booklets - they first I knew about it was when it was in the announcements!
I have amused you over the past few years with stories about Sophia. Well, Lucia is starting to talk now (19 months) and when she doesn’t know a word, she is getting creative to get her meaning across. Yesterday, DS bought watermelon and when she saw it on the bench, she wanted some, so told DS ‘big frufru dada, big frufru!
DH has our dinner nearly ready to go. It is Moroccan lamb casserole, which will be served with cous cous.

Happy Sunday all. No idea what’s for dinner I’ve been nursing a poor puppy who has had an upset stomach for a couple of days. Made a trip to the vet yesterday morning and she doesn’t have a fever or anything like that but the diarrhea is or was out of hand. We think it probably was stress from being at a new Doggie hotel while I was in Florida. The tried and true one’s owner was on vacation. So we’ve been cooking chicken and rice and some carrots and hopefully by tomorrow will be better. If it’s not better by Tuesday I’ll give them another call. she’s on a daily probiotic at this point which is supposed to help so we’ll see.
I got tired of going up and down the stairs at 11 PM, 1 AM, 3 AM, etc. etc. so the past couple nights I’ve been sleeping on the couch downstairs which is not very comfortable. Today I will spend rooting for the ravens and the Detroit Lions.

I’ve been to the grocery store this morning and will be going to babysit the grandboys for a couple of hours this afternoon. DDIL has to work at 1:30 and DS doesn’t get home from work until 3:30 pm. It’s a rainy day so I foresee playing Play Doh with the youngest for a bit.
Supper will be rechauffe from our roast beef supper last night.

the parking lot.. which is the morning walk route for the dog.. was black ice this morning. I am getting my snow boots with built in spikes (you flip them in or out) on monday. I'm doing a lazy sunday.. laundry, cleaning house, etc. and watching the 49'ers win I hope. watched the warrior basketball team lose by 1 point again last night.
it is just grey and warm out.. so no skiing. I try to only go on weekdays with less crowds.
I have to cook up the chicken I have been ignoring. I just had a tangerine and a few frozen breakfast sausages for dinner. I am not motivated to cook.

Hi Everyone, leannec Your daughter is beautiful! What a fun night for her and her BF. Looks like another movie that I will not be watching. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it. KelleeM I am so sorry for your son’s best friend’s passing. I feel so bad for your son and Josh’s family and girlfriend. Please accept my deepest condolences. I am so glad that you are there with him. And he let you hug him. You are a good Mama. scrapmaven I didn’t want to bump the thread yesterday; but I am so glad that your tummy issue resolved itself. Enjoy working on your puzzle. It’s wonderful that you have more energy. cadoodlebug Your meme is funny. I hope you get your chores done and your dinner sounds great. sueg Looks like Sophia has competition in the adorable category. What an adorable story of Lucia. I am so glad that the Communion parents are organized and helping get everything ready for their kids First Communion. I hope you sleep better tonight. christine58 I am sorry that your baby is not feeling well. You poor thing being up all night. That’s what we have been living with for the past year. It’s exhausting. I hope your puppy feels better soon. taylortroop Enjoy watching the grandsons. ntsf The black ice can be deadly. I am glad that you are getting snow boots with spikes. Darcy Collins Have fun watching the game. Today I have been picking up around the house. I cleared off the island for a grocery delivery this afternoon. I didn’t go to church today because my tailbone area is still hurting. I have been watching YouTube videos and had my coffee. Dinner is in the crockpot. It’s chuck roast with veggies. I have leftover mashed potatoes from last night, that I will add to my plate. I hope all of you have a peaceful rest of the day.

I worked last night and had a quiet night...I did book a case and helped the IR folks open and get set up at 4am...they were just wrapping up at 7am...which was good as our Vascular Surgeon had a case in that room at 8...which will prove to be a LONG one!
Dinner will be a repeat of last nights pasta e fagioli...I planned for this yesterday when I made the pot soup. It is hearty and delicious!!

Dinner will be Italian sausage & peppers for DS & I, probably stroganoff for DH (he doesn't do peppers). DS was out of town for a few days at a housewarming for one of his cousins and just got back a little while ago. One of the 3 of us needs to hit the grocery store for a few things, so we're drawing lots on that LOL. I'm getting ready to start some laundry that I didn't do yesterday and then settle in for some crafting (scrapbooking and making cards). DS & DH will be watching football in between some show they're binge watching. Then later DS & I might finish the last 2 episodes of Witcher. Not sure if either of us will be up for it though, as I'm already tired now and he's probably tired from traveling...we'll see how it goes. ETA: meant to add that I loved your picture of your DD at the Flames game, leannec . Cute smiles! Oops, they won - glad they got to see a good game!

Ds just cooked homemade macaroni and cheese and put it in two disposable pans for Josh’s mom and girlfriend. He also bought Lauren gummy bears and Lindor chocolate balls at the grocery store. He’s definitely my son! This was his idea with no input from me. We will go tomorrow to drop the food off for them.
Dinner is going to be ground beef taco salads with guacamole. We have been trying to avoid generating more dirty dishes since we still have no hot water. I think ds is going to heat some to do some of the dishes. Hoping to have a new water heater installed tomorrow. The painter is supposed to finish up tomorrow as well.

For Christmas, I bought DH some Eddie Bauer fleeced lined pants to take on our trip to Scandinavia/Iceland in May. They were expensive but really nice pants. The other day it was cold so he wore them golfing. And got them really muddy. I mean, up to the knees muddy. The type of mud that doesn't come out. So I scrubbed them with Dawn detergent and a toothbrush for 15 minutes before putting them in the laundry. I also scrubbed a pair of golf pants that I had previously washed but the mud stains were still there. Both of them came out of the wash with no hint of stains. DH calls me the Goddess of Wash. I also told him to NEVER ever wear good pants to golf when it has been raining.

I typed out a whole long post that’s gone. KelleeM I’m so sorry for your ds and his friend’s family. It was so fast. destined2bmom praying you get some relief soon Our closet shelving showed up. It’s not all installed because the Lions are on. My nephew said he could get us watch party tickets for their stadium but you couldn’t get a hotel. I’m sure my nephew would let us stay there but he has 3 cats and I’m severely allergic. Dh just wants to watch it in peace too I love that story about Lucia suegfiddlesticks how is your DD’s foot? Rechauffe here. We have a ton in the fridge.

I'm feeling super sad ... I am going to have to euthanize my 16 year old cat, Ella, tomorrow ... she lives with my mum and is not doing well. She has been vomiting blood and losing weight ... it's time ... I will call the vet in the morning and hope that they can get me in ... This is Ella:

Maybe for his birthday get rain pants. He has a pair. It isn't the rain that is the problem, it's the mud when they hit the ball it splatters. leannec, I'm so sorry.

scrapmaven I just saw your post on yesterday's thread about taking up the drums to wake up the ones with a hangover! Unfortunately (or fortunately, for him), DSO NEVER gets a hangover. He was close to the drunkest I've seen him, but he just had a little nap, then got up for dinner. Then the next morning he was up-and-at-em before anyone else in the house! I don't know how he does it. (My son, on the other hand.......) Well, the burst fire hydrant from Friday made the Channel 9 news on Facebook, so yay, I'm famous! When we got home from the beach late on Sunday afternoon, two of the neighbours came out to tell us what had happened. We told them that we were actually watching it from our security camera. It turns out that it was an elderly* lady who ran into the fire hydrant, and she told police that she had swerved to avoid a cat, then hit the fire hydrant. Sounds a bit suss, she swerved all the way across to the wrong side of the road. She tore off half of the car's undercarriage, then kept driving!! She got about 100m or so down the road (with two flat tyres!) before finally stopping. There were bits of her car strewn all down the road. *I say "elderly" because that's what the guy across the road said, and when I asked him how old she was, he said she was in her 70s. My mum is 76 and still working full time, as well as driving, so to me that is NOT elderly! The poor next door neighbours' house (which is currently for sale) copped the brunt of it. It was a very windy day, and the wind blew most of the water towards their house. Their house got flooded inside. We were so lucky that it's only the eaves and a couple of tiles on the garage that are damaged.

leannec, I'm so sad to hear about Ella. She's a beautiful cat. ((((HUGS)))). AussieMeg, your dso is very resilient when it comes to alcohol. He's very lucky. Now that your a local celebrity can we have your autograph? ITA that 70's is not old. If she was 90 I'd worry. She sounds like a bad driver. Doubt she was any better at 30.

leannec I'm so sorry. It's the hardest most loving thing to do for our furry family. Hugs to you. cadoodlebug the older I get (not yet eligible for Medicare) my definition of elderly keeps increasing in age.
