If you have one, how easy and convenient is it? Have you successfully made any healthy treats in it (thinking high protein ice cream)? Is it worth the cost and space it takes up?

I have one. I freeze protein drinks then mix them to a soft serve ice cream consistency, and I sometimes add peanut butter powder to the whole thing. Its the only way I can handle a protein drink! My only complaint is that it is so loud that I hate to use it in the morning while DH is still asleep.

I saw a few TT and YT posts about the Ninja Chop and that it can do exactly the same and people made various ice creams with it.
ETA: you just have to freeze your ingredients and can make several over having to let the Creami bowl freeze for 24 hours between use.

I have one - it's great.
On Tik Tok you can find all sorts of high protein ice cream recipes. They are usually one protein drink, a couple of spoons of pudding mix and sometime PB powder. You can also do sorbets with just frozen fruit.
As far as freezing for 24 hours, you don't really have to wait 24 hours. You just need it to be frozen solid. Unless it's full to the top line, 8 hours works fine.
It is loud, but usually only takes 2-3 minutes to run through.

We have one at the lake cabin. I like it, but it has its drawbacks.
The cons: - Primarily that it’s really freaking loud. Like airplane taking off loud. You can’t run it while someone is watching tv in the next room loud. - You have to freeze the little containers 24 hours in advance, so you need to have all of your ingredients, etc. on hand a day before you want to make it. Sometimes this is problematic for us since we don’t tend to keep a lot of that stuff on hand at the cabin. I like to make ours with heavy cream so I always have to plan ahead. - If everyone wants the same flavor you have to do multiple batches and process them individually. - The recipes that come with it are kind of weird. I’m not a fan of the ones with cream cheese in them. But thankfully there are a lot of other recipes online that will also work. - If you don’t eat it all right away, it tends to get pretty hard and isn’t scoopable after it sits in the freezer for a while so I sometimes have to respin it which is loud. Also, if you don’t eat it all and you leave it in the container so you can respin it if necessary, it ties up that container until you do eat it so you can’t make a different flavor unless you have extra containers. Amazon sells knockoffs though, so that might be an option. I found a bunch of clearance at Target last year so I would have extras. - For a family your size, you’re going to want to invest in extra containers because the 2-3 that typically come with it probably won’t cut it for six people.- For a family your size, you’re going to want to invest in extra containers because the 2-3 that typically come with it probably won’t cut it for six people.
The pros: - What’s nice about it is that it makes ice cream a pint at a time so if different people want different flavors you can do that. - There are LOADS of recipes online for it, look for the Ninja Creami Facebook group and the owner of that group also has a blog, there are a ton of recipes linked up there including a huge number of recipes for making it with protein shakes and the like. There are also recipes for smoothie bowls and other stuff. - It’s pretty easy to clean since it all comes apart. - It doesn’t take up space in your freezer long term like the larger ice cream maker freezer bowls do. I usually keep the freezer bowl for my Cuisinart ice cream maker in the freezer all the time so it’s ready whenever, but it takes up a decent sized amount of room. - It’s pretty small and doesn’t take up a lot of counter space (or cabinet, or pantry, where ever you decide to keep it). We just keep it on the counter. - Once you make the ice cream, it’s ready to eat right out of the container. With my Cuisinart it has to set up some more in the freezer for at least a couple hours after churning it to be scoopable. The advantage with the Cuisinart is that the ice cream stays scoopable longer though. The Ninja ice cream often has to be remixed after it sits in the freezer for a while.
Having said all that, I bought extra containers for mine so I could fill and freeze them at home during the week and they act as ice packs in the cooler for the trip to the lake on the weekend. Once we’re there we can put them in the freezer and they’re ready to spin when we want it. Then we just take the containers home again once they’re empty.

We have one. We love it. We freeze canned fruit and just whir that up as a sorbet. Canned fruit is not super healthy, but it is delicious and likely better for us than ice cream. We sometimes make a half batch of vanilla and add fruit like canned oranges to it to fill up container. Tastes like a creamsicle. The cream cheese on the recipes is just to make it a nice consistency. It is only a tablespoon or two, not enough to effect the taste we don't find. Definitely need extra containers.

We have one and bought extra containers. I actually don’t really like ice cream (I know lol) but dh LOVES IT. I make ice cream in fun flavors for him and also a lot of sorbets with frozen fruit to be healthier and he likes those a lot too. The pros and cons listed above are accurate. ETA: I made an ice cream with cottage cheese for the protein and I wasn’t into it (but remember I don’t actually like ice cream anyway). Dh thought it was great!

We do a lot of frozen protein drinks with a couple tablespoons of pudding mix. It is loud. But it’s an easy way to get additional protein into my daughter.
