February 2024 - goals, plans, progress, and achievements!

Continue to not start a layout until the previous one is off my desk (unless there is a very good reason to put it aside and not finish it.)

Continue to whittle down the pile-of-shame. Currently it's at 32 half-finished layouts, I'd like it to be 25 or less by the end of the month.

29-4-29

Get 5 pieces of memorabilia out of the overflowing memorabilia bin and into a scrapbook (however that needs to happen, either scrapping it, or putting it in a page protector in the appropriate album.)

Work on October Daily. I've done 5 pockets so far, only 26 more to go...

I need to finish up three recipe books.  i ordered some stamps and i'm just waiting for them to be delivered.

Finish journaling in my Disney album. Then it will be complete!
Keep up with Allison Davis' sketch class.
Keep up with SG's Create weekly challenges.
Look for 12x12 3 ring binder albums for the completed layouts that are piling up.

I'm really good at coming up with reasons. Hit me up if you need any.

I need to get my space together. It, like most of the rest of my house, is a bit of a disaster.

When DD came home for Christmas she said she thought both I & my house would be in much worse condition because December was really eventful both optimistically & tragically. She expected me to fall apart a bit after that rollercoaster. I think she was spot on but the reaction was a bit delayed. Then I was sick for 4 whole days of early January and I haven’t caught up since.

It is time to get myself together because I’m past my tolerance for disarray.

Usually February is one of my most productive months for scrapbooking, but this year I will be away for 10 days MAKING and PHOTOGRAPHING memories, rather than scrapping them. I know I will come back with a head full of pages I want to construct, but not sure I will have the time b/c I will have to be catching up on things around home, too. One project that may be completed while I am gone is new shelving in my pantry, so before I leave I need to empty the old sagging shelves and hopefully the work will be done when I get back so I will need to fill all the new shelves.

I will be playing along with 29-4-29 when I can. (Have my samples made for all but one of the Thursdays). Hope to get my February calendar page completed.

I made a 12x12 layout all on my own!!!! I’m so proud of myself to scrapbook something all by myself. Last month I created 12x12 for the first time since brain surgery while I was on a scrappy retreat weekend with friends. Today, I scrapped a photo I took that weekend and even made my own “chipboard” title with layers of cardstock. I’m so happy to create!

About halfway through the month, how are everyone's goals going? I think I need to make March 'use your scraps' month... otherwise, it's going pretty well.

I finished November of last year and January of this year. December always has a ton of photos so I skipped it. If I want to be up to date this year, I have to prioritize doing the month that just finished.

11 days to go in February. I hope to get some more done.

While I didn't post it early on this month, my goal was very simple -- to just start *something* crafty and get going again (scrapbooking, watercolor, and/or card-making). My mojo has been lost for a while and I needed to get it jump-started.

I am happy to say that I've made a dozen winter-themed cards, plus a handful of various other cards (thinking of you, b-day, valentine's day) so far this month. I am now re-doing the intro page for my beach trips album, plus working on new pages. I finished incorporating pix from a small album I had made for my dad . That part was hard but sort of cathartic. So...progress. And I'm working on that album today, adding a new section.
