A few friends started a FB group for us and the books we read. I'm not a huge reader these days - but want to join in the monthly challenge.
February is romance - and I'm headed on vacation Friday so I'm scouring Amazon for digital books to add to my Kindle app - and trying to stick with one that will be Prime eligible so I can read for free lol.
Any suggestions?
Update: SO - colour me stupid, but I had NO idea what this Prime Reading thing was! LOL I can borrow up to 10 books at a time for reading.
So far I have added:
Songs of the Fae, Witches of Scotland & the Second Mrs Aster
Off to look for more!
**UPDATE #2**
So here's what I downloaded for my week away - Songs of the Fae, Witches of Scotland, The Wife Upstairs, Never Lie (I didn't realize until today these were both by Frieda McFadden), We Thought We Knew You, The Second Mrs Aster, and In the Heart of the Fire by Dean Koontz. At the last minute I added an Amazon First Reads - Hypnotized by Love.
It seems most of them were short reads - the Dean Koontz one was definitely short story not novel.
Two of them left me needing to search out the rest of the series! Songs of the Fae & Witches of Scotland for sure I need to seek out the rest - they were both great.
The Wife Upstairs & Never Lie hooked me early on - you were SURE you knew where it was going (especially Never Lie) and I was super wrong on both! Love a good thriller.
Hypnotized by Love was a fun light read - perfect for vacation. Very 'Hallmark' in the way it went along.
I actually enjoyed The Second Mrs Aster - I know much of the conversations could not be real (similar to how The Crown is) but the author cited all her research at the end of the book. It was an interesting story to learn about - my only knowledge of them really was The Titanic movie and Rose gossiping to Jack about the Asters, so it was neat to read their backstory. I was disappointed that there was not much after she's home and the child is born, about how she makes her way through life after losing her husband in the Titanic sinking. But it was a good read.
I did read them all - I'm a bit of a speed reader and we truly did a "fly and flop" - never left the resort, laid by the pool all day, totally relaxed for a week. So reading was done a lot!

I just finished When Stars Collide by Elizabeth Phillips. It's a good vacation read. Not so deep that you are down about it and not so light that you feel your IQ dropping. It's about an opera singer and football player on a promotional tour together and they become an item. (See any real world connections to the pop singer/football hype?!) But it was written a few years ago. It was a lot of fun to read. It's not an Amazon Prime book, but I did get it from my library. And it's only $9.99 on Amazon.

I don’t usually read romance books so I’m following this with interest. All I can think of in recent books is The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, which might not be in the romance book category. Not sure.

Lovelight Farms by BK Borison is a good one with a tiny bit of spice. Happiness for Beginners by Katherine Center could be classified as romance because of the two main characters but it’s more about the journey than spice. It Happened One summer by Tessa Bailey has lots of spice.
I’m don’t usually gravitate towards romance novels these days, but these three were top of the list for me.

Have you read the trilogy by JoJo Moyes? Me Before You, After You and Still Me. I don't know if they're available on Prime, but they are great books with a lot of interesting romance.

Yours Truly by Abby Jiminez. It’s so good and it was on sale for $3, so hopefully it still is.
The Bodyguard by Katherine Center is good too!

Depending on your spice level, I could give you a bunch.
But one I just finished this weekend was Archers Voice. Some spice in it but over all I really enjoyed it

I have enjoyed everything I have read by Elin Hilderbrand. Beach romances. Light easy read. I tried one of her books and hated her writing style. It detracted from the story for me. (27 summers or something like that?)

Like her bride series and the inn series. I liked Nora Roberts before she got into fairies and magic and the like. Im not a fan of those types of stories.

I love Nora Roberts. A little mystery and a little romance. Some favorites are The Witness, Shelter in Place, The Liar, Catching Fire. I also don't care for the fairies and magic books but she has plenty of stand alone romance/mystery.

Which genre?
Contemporary? Historical? Spice level? Fantasy/Supernatural?
I don't read a ton of romance, but I have some suggestions if you have certain genres you prefer or hate.
I am reading the second book of two for Divine Rivals. It is fantasy/alternate timeline-historical romance, but is really popular for a reason.

I wonder if it’s like the Nora Robert’s book trilogies and the next book in the Stars series will be about him?

If you haven't read any of the Bridgerton books, I highly recommend. I read them back when they were first released. I reread The Duke and I and The Viscount Who Loved Me when the show came out. They held up nicely.

I loved Tom Lake by Ann Patchett.
In Tom Lake, the narrator tells her three adult daughters about her summer fling with an actor who went on to become a mega super star. The overall vibe of the book is more sweet and nostalgic than spicy. I think it is a great story and very well written. I'll be surprised if it's not made into a movie soon.
