Approximately 16 million people call in sick the day after the superbowl. Wow! And I would be one of them. Been sick for days. Up to 101.8 fever. Stomach issues. I am tired of eating turkey breast on white bread!

16 million people?! That's like 60% of the population of Australia!

Lol. I believe most of those “sick” people are hungover or tired from staying up too late for the Super Bowl.
OP I hope you feel better soon!

I'm in KC and I *know* there will be tons of people "sick". As soon as they won, we had fireworks going off all over the place (it was past 10PM) and the parade is Wednesday. :X

I hate the idea that people are calling in last minute instead of taking the day off in advance. Kinda screws over the people who cover when they are out.

Ha ha I’m currently lazing under a palapa poolside in the Rivera Maya - so definitely a vacation day!

Nope, but not into football at all. So far we only have one person out in our office. But I work in a library. We don't have many people in my specific office that are big into sports. And if they are, it's more hockey or baseball. I'm sure a few might have watched the game, but the majority have no interest. Including me. Though if the Lions had made it, I might actually have watched or at least checked in once in a while.

The news mentioned that some of the schools in KC are closed Wednesday due to the parade. Our SD e-mailed last week to say because we'd already used 5 snow days so we wouldn't have the day off. It's also Conference Week and that day is already a half day for students. The teachers requested parents e-mail ASAP if they were gonna skip their Conference for that day. You would have to pay me lots and lots of money to go to that Parade. Way too peopley.

My local news showed a lot of hungover, bummed people at baggage claim at the airport. Party's over. Move along people. zztop11, I hope that you feel much better, quickly. I'm sending chicken soup vibes.

Yeah, that's not really a thing when you teach in my district. You get written up if they think you're taking days off without being sick. And as a part time teacher, I don't have any paid time off, so here I am.

My son did. He had quite a few drinks last night and apparently didn't eat enough. Mamma wasn't too happy. Left him to sleep at his sister's house overnight. He wasn't even sure why it hit him that hard. None of us noticed he had that much to drink. I think the lack of food did it. Not something I liked seeing for sure, but he was safe and taken care of. As long as he isn't stupid to drive and it doesn't happen often (drinking, not the driving part.. I just reread that.. lol) , it is what it is. His sister and him are having a good breakfast this morning.

We just received an email letting us know that our local school district (in Kansas, not Missouri!) is closing because of expected low attendance from both students and teachers on Wednesday. Now I love my Chiefs but there is no way I am going downtown to celebrate with 1 million of my closest friends!!!

The ER is PACKED tonight. They're lining the hallways. Now that the game and parties are over, time to head to the ER for what's been ailing us all weekend but wasn't all that important compared to Jim's buffalo dip and Sharon's meatballs on a stick.
Last night was the emptiest it's been since NYE.
I love humans. They're quite predictable, while being totally unpredictable :/

Now I love my Chiefs but there is no way I am going downtown to celebrate with 1 million of my closest friends!!! We got the email yesterday afternoon. They're calling it a "Red Snow Day". I went to the FB page and people were mad they hadn't cancelled it, now people are mad they did cancel it. (It was only a half day, but also Conferences.) Everybody is not going to be happy, as usual. I hope it doesn't hurt the small businesses on Valentine's.
