How's your experience been with Amazon lately?
For the 3rd time is about 7 -10 days, I've received the message "Your package is on the way but running late." However, I've discovered this is a euphemism for "your package is lost". Every single time. It never shows up. Ugh. Fortunately, so far the items have not been expensive - a sticker book, hot glue and a bottle of Vitamin E oil. I found the Vitamin E Oil locally, but the other items are not available locally.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Yep. Many times over the last 6-8 months or so. I think I've received everything eventually except for one thing. They gave me my money back.

No. My most recent orders arrived early--two of them were a week early.

I’ve had that a few times. Only once was it lost and I could request a refund.

Mine have been delivered on time, but yesterday I went to place and order for some birthday stickers and diamond painting release paper. When I went to check out I see a message that the paper is not available. I delete the items from my cart and wait five minutes. Then I went back and ordered just the paper and surprisingly it is now available! It will be delivered today!

most of mine came early by a day or so but yes - I did have one just before Christmas that was "on the way but running late" and indeed it never did arrive and I received a refund.

Yes, it's happened a couple of time in the past few months. Every single time it involved a seller/shipper that was not Amazon. Now I refuse to order anything that isn't shipped directly from Amazon. Was able to cancel the orders and get my money back but I don't need the extra hassle of that.

I get that sometimes. The item usually never shows up and they give me a refund. If I order the item again when I get the lost message, I usually get it the next day. The second order, not the first. I figure if the first order shows up, I will just return it but ordering again saves me from waiting for an item I will most likely never see. And yeah..."running late" seems to be Amazon speak for "we don't know where the hell it is".

I have a package that was supposed to come on Saturday, and I got the delayed message. The package made it to the big distribution center for my county Friday night before it got "delayed". But, I just checked and as of early this morning, my order made it to my local distribution center, so I guess they found it. But it still says "delayed", so we shall see.
This is only the 2nd time in all my years of ordering from Amazon that this has happened. The other one never made it and I had to request a refund. Why do "we" have to request a refund when Amazon knows it is lost. Can't they just automatically issue the refund?!
ETA - Finally got the notice that my package is out for delivery.

One package arrived a day late. It was to arrive by 8pm on Thursday but I got the notice at 5pm that it was running late. Arrived at 8:40am next day (Friday). We had just had flooding and storms so I was wondering if it would be late.
That is the only late package I have had in a long time. Majority is same day to next day with a few 2 day. Some arrive earlier than stated.

yes, it finally happened to me a couple of weeks ago. i bought a pair of boots and it was shipped. then it was arriving late. and then the tracking just stopped. i look on their site and now the SAME boots are $12 more! i called amazon and they encouraged me to cancel and re-order so they could ship it again. i told them no because the priced had gone up. we went back and forth until i received an email assurance that they would credit me the difference once i received the new order.
i cancelled the first order and re-ordered. when i got the boots, i had to call Amazon back to have them refund me the difference. what i find slightly shady, is that their reason for refunding the difference was that the second order "arrived damaged" but i agreed to keep the order with a partial refund. whatever, Amazon. ugh.

No I’ve never had item’s completely lost.
However, they are sometimes late.
I have a package from Vuori on the way - they’ve revised the delivery date twice - should be arriving today though 🙏

Which is weird because 2 seperate times was able to one time order ( for more money ) the item but it was out of stock for auto ship. And one time it never came who knows why. One time it read delivered but it didn’t show up. I eventually called them and asked to see their proof of delivery they said I waited too long but they did eventually refund it because they had no proof of delivery not even a sentence about where they left it. I mean if you delivered it show me the picture of where maybe it’s under my shrubs, I don’t see it but show me Recently they jammed a box in my mailbox on a Sunday I didn’t see it until I went to look online and the “proof” of delivery read in mailbox. Service is definitely slipping

Oh, I have a question. One delivery, the guy tried to get into the garage. He had to text me. Apparently on the delivery instruction it said garage and it had a key code. We’ve never tried to have a garage delivery and we don’t know how that info got there. Anyone else ever have this happen to them?

DH says he thinks the "running late" message is a euphemism for the seller telling fibs and not actually having the item in stock, but taking the money anyway. He says sometimes the item arrives, sometimes it doesn't, but he always gets a refund.

Knock on wood.. never any problems except maybe a little delay by a few days. Nothing has ever been lost, or delivered wrong.
I had one package that was damaged (a desk) and I had to take it all apart to put back in a box.. but it was refunded fairly quickly and I only could fit about half of it in there. I tossed the rest of it.
Edited to add: I did order something for DD before xmas... I am pretty sure it was a 3rd party... but it must have changed delivery dates a dozen times. It's probably still on there saying it's going to be delivered. I was refunded but it stuck to my account forever, I stopped checking.

Yes, and what I normally do is track the package and then call the carrier and speak to a rep there. The last time it was one of those transfer shipments from UPS to USPS - the USPS tracking showed the package arriving at my PO and then leaving to go to another, and then another, farther and farther from me. I called USPS and spoke to a rep and explained what happened. They sent a memo out to have the next facility rescan it and check the address and sure enough, I got it the next day. They turned it around overnight and rerouted it back to me. It's usually a carrier problem not an Amazon problem, at least in my experience.

If your tracking number starts with 'TBA' it is Amazon 'in house' shipping.'
I had a shelving unit never listed as delivered... They finally g refunded it but they continued to message me to return it when it arrived.

Quite a number of times. Mostly, nothing was so important it was needed immediately. The items were received in an acceptable amount of time.

It’s not just Amazon.
I placed an order with Paper Issues last week, and I was supposed to get it on Saturday. No update on where it was until today. It was in VA as of this morning. I’m in TX! WTH?!
USPS is such a PITB.

Well phooey. Now one of my autoships is out of stock. It’s only a bottle of probiotics. Another item I can get locally, but at a higher price.
The other week as we were backing out of our garage, an Amazon truck pulled up. I walked down to the end of the driveway to get the package and save the driver a few steps. The driver apologized because she couldn’t seem to find the package in the truck. It took her awhile, but she finally found it. It was in the wrong bin because it has TWO stickers on it, so it was in the wrong place.
I’m guessing it’s errors like that are adding to the rise in “delayed” and missing packages.

Agree that it's almost always a third-party seller when there's a problem with a lost delivery. I rarely order anything from Amazon these days that doesn't have same, 1, or 2 day shipping. Those items are usually sitting in a warehouse locally or regionally and will get to me on time.

One of the reasons why I cancelled Prime this morning. That and the fact that about 25% of the time I return something, I have to get on chat to argue that they already told me they received it but then would say that if I don't return the item, I will be charged. The customer service people know this is a problem but they can't do anything about it.
The benefits just aren't there anymore. I don't need impulse buying anymore and if I really need something, I can come up with $25 or $35 of stuff to buy to get the free shipping. They are also not giving the Dolby sound unless you upgrade your membership. I don't really care about that but they keep taking things away. People really need to just start cancelling and they will probably back off.

Every single time. Mine run about 7 days on average. That is with Prime. I have had a couple lost, and cancelled one at Christmas, due to the length of time getting it. But Prime has lost it's shine for me. I can order the same item from Walmart of Target with free shipping and get it in 2 days, and it takes a week from Amazon.

Most of our stuff comes from a local warehouse so it comes pretty fast, usually within a day or two. There might have been one or two around Christmas that were delayed but they did show up.
