Hi everyone! Well, I had a bit of a "mishap" in my bathroom at about 4am I live in a very dry climate and go barefoot at home so I battle with cracked heels ... I was putting cream on them in my ensuite bathroom and lost my balance ... fell backwards into the wall, taking the shower curtain and toilet paper holder down with me! I'm OK other than a scrape and a bruise on my bum ... Now I just have to find a new handyman because mine no longer works in my area. Here is the aftermath: So today I will buy a new toilet paper holder I also need to mail a huge amount of paperwork to both the school board and my teacher's pension people ... hopefully that will be the end of it and I can start subbing soon - and get paid soon! I have absolutely no idea what dinner will be tonight! Healing thoughts going out to scrapmaven! What are your plans today? What is on your menu? Have a great Saturday everybody!

Oh dear leannec that is not good. I hope you don’t end up feeling too sore. Lazy day here. DH made it home yesterday evening and was so tired after not getting much sleep on his overnight flight that he was on bed by 8:30. So today we have done what was necessary in terms of shopping and cleaning and have just had football on TV for the afternoon while he read and I knitted. Dinner is a middle eastern inspired beef casserole which will be served with cous cous.

We are having all manner of goofiness this morning. Seriously my belly hurts from all the laughing today. I've got Jeremy's birthday cheesecake in the oven. He is cleaning the floors. I'm cleaning the kitchen. When the cheesecake comes out I will shower.
The kids are coming over tonight to celebrate his birthday. His mom will be here too. Chicken fried rice he is making us on the Blackstone. Should be a good day.

Happy Saturday! I'm glad you weren't hurt any worse leannec. I took today off work. I am fighting a losing battle with a cold. Made a grocery list and sent DH to the store. Some of the grandkids are spending the night. We had 5 inches of snow yesterday. I am hoping this is the last blast of winter. Today it is bitterly cold. I am enjoying the view from inside. Have a fun day jeremysgirl. I came from the latter generation cadoodlebug. Dinner will be spaghetti at the request of the grandkids.

leannec! Do I really need to explain this to you? When you’re putting lotion on your feet, SIT DOWN to do it. Be careful, girlfriend. Dinner tonight will be at the crab feed, which will include … ta dah! spaghetti! Because it’s obviously spaghetti night at the pod. Meanwhile, I’m trying to make monkey bars (frosted banana bread squares) from my aging bananas before I need to get ready to go out. Okay, it’s cake with a fancy name to distract you from that fact. Hopefully have all the other ingredients. I hope scrapmaven is feeling a little perky today.

Dinner tonight is up in the air. It's a chilly day outside, but we didn't get anywhere near the snow that was predicted, so we're going to go to the basketball game.
I'm hoping to work a bit on my ticket scrapbook when we get home. It's been way too long since I worked on it.
Scrappy-related, I noticed a comment and like notification on my scrapbook Instagram. One of the places I tagged in a photo commented and liked the picture, so that was kind of neat. 3/4 places tagged on the photo have now liked it. 😊
DH also mentioned recently how I can choose how we spend some of his interview reimbursement. I mentioned using it to fund part of our anniversary trip. 🥰

leannec I'm glad to hear that you're ok. jeremysgirl enjoy the day with the family ! It's a rainy and foggy day. I took a shower and put on a clean pair of pajamas on, it's just one of those day. After that I baked a banana nut bread to use up my over ripe bananas and now I have chicken in the oven for dinner. It's a perfect day to have the day off and stay indoors. For dinner we are having baked chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli/cauliflower salad.

Happy Saturday!
I just got back from the grocery store. I normally do pickup but I needed to get a couple of Amazon gift cards and bags for wrapping so I decided to just go in today. I really hate grocery shopping and was in the middle of a big hot flash when I got to the checkout. I'm sure they wondered what was wrong with me!
We're celebrating the February birthdays at my sister's tomorrow morning and I'm making a breakfast casserole for that. Dinner tonight is up in the air. I took out some chicken that I need to use but I also got things for sloppy joes so I may make those tonight and have the chicken tomorrow.
Hope you all have a great day!

gentle (((Hugs))) leannec
it'll just be me and DH again for dinner and since our fridge is chock full of leftovers, I'm not cooking...it'll be fend for yourself from the leftovers and if he decides to just grab cereal or make eggs, I think I'll scream because one of the reasons we have so many leftovers is that he's either been eating out for lunch or grabbing eggs/cereal instead of eating leftovers.

leannec...I hope you are o.k., I thought I was the only one who thought they were a child again and pulled stunts that caused harm to oneself!!! jeremysgirl...enjoy your day, and your vacation!!!
Today was the monthly or bimonthly retirees brunch, I hosted today and made the Pioneers Womans Baked French Toast, VERY delicious!!! It was a hit.
Dinner will be pot roast with potato and carrots, making this for DH as I personally am NOT a fan of pot roast. He will love it!!!!

I'm 56, not 26 ... gotta realize my limitations! leannec...I hope you are o.k., I thought I was the only one who thought they were a child again and pulled stunts that caused harm to oneself!!! I'm OK ... my backside hurts but it will heal ... luckily, I'm single so there were no witnesses!

Count me into the spaghetti-for-dinner crew here at the pod. I had thawed some Italian sausage intended for last night's dinner but I took it out too late and it was still a bit frozen when I was ready to make dinner. I know I could've finished thawing it in the microwave, but dislike doing that. So I made a different plan for last night (take-out Chinese food, LOL) and we'll have spaghetti with Italian sausage tonight. Wow, jeremysgirl - chocolate cake AND cheesecake! Jeremy is a lucky guy and I hope you and the rest of the family have a great celebration dinner! Hugs and "please feel better" vibes to all who need them! ETA: cadoodlebug, I think I qualify by age into the latter category, but I really don't identify with either! For me, when the kids were little it was more like "Go to your room until you can settle yourself down".

leannec: Glad you’re not hurt too badly but I did giggle a bit when I saw the photo. Most of us are sleeping at 4 am and not moisturizing our feet! This morning I went to the Rotary Book Sale, a fundraiser for the service club. It was $10.00 per bag for any size bag. I’ve been to one before so I know how it works - you take the biggest grocery bag you can find! I was there for 2 hours and I was in my happy place! I came home with 85 books for $20. Now I have to find room on my shelves. DH and I are going out for supper tonight and will use a gift card we got for Christmas. Gotta love eating in someone else’s dime!

I'm a chronic insomniac and I like to do different things in the middle of the night ... the feet thing is nothing ... I've been known to bake, create report cards (because I'm a teacher) and build a shoe rack at that time as well!

we are going to a comic tonight.. and today my big task was reading, and going to the big grocery store in the next town.
I was going to bake chicken, but I think I will just do scrambled eggs and sausage and toast for dinner, since it is quick. we are walking 1/2. mile to the venue, so I don't want to spend a lot of time on dinner. it will be 20 degrees F when we walk there and 16 when we walk home.. I'm going to bundle up and take my headlamp
then tomorrow morning, we are going out for breakfast with my brother and his son. made reservations cause I am in a resort town on a holiday weekend.

Leannec, I was at my Dermatologists office last week. He suggested Uremol 20 or anything with Urea in it for heels,. I am now using it one day then aloe Vera from our plant the next day etc. We are having roast beef, potatoes and onions that have been stored from our son’s garden in his cold room and yummy carrots from Innisfail (from the farmer’s market).

You totally can fix it next time. Start a tik tok to do home repairs post divorce and dating escapades. Women would eat that up. You could get monetized by sponsors and never have to sub. It’s a win-win. lol I’m freezing here and it’s been raining all day 👎🏻 Dd & Luke just left to go to the airport. It will be 15 degrees with 4 or so inches of snow when they land. Not sorry to miss that. Dinner is veggie bowls from chipotle. No spaghetti tonight. We are waiting on the condo maintenance to fix the dryer and dish washer here. Enjoy the birthday meal jeremysgirl

Now you all have me craving spaghetti! Maybe that'll be dinner, we'll see. Been a busy weekend so far, and I promised my kids I'd help them with their taxes tomorrow. They're so easy I don't know why they feel better having me on zoom... yes you're single, yes you're a dependent, yes that box that says income is your income.

Ouch leannec, I hope your bum is better! You're lucky you didn't crack your head on the side of the bath! My friend's uncle slipped in the bathroom when he was home alone, and sustained a head injury. His wife found him when she got home two days later and unfortunately he had passed away. And you know what, he wasn't that much older than us when it happened. We have had a ripper time away this weekend with our friends. Saturday night we went on the Blues Train, which is an old steam train with four carriages, with a different blues musician or band in each carriage. You get in your starting carriage, then when you get to the next little seaside station, you change into the next carriage. The train line isn't used anymore except for The Blues Train and the Q Train, which is a fine dining train. Before the train leaves the first station, you get a meal - pulled beef, chicken, roast potatoes and salads. We had such a fun night.

I know it could have been a lot worse ... there are pros to not living alone and a situation like this is one of them ... It will take me awhile to think of another pro! I love living alone 99% of the time ...

leannec falling in the bathroom is the worst place to fall. Glad you are relatively okay. scrapmaven thinking of you! It was a lazy rainy day. Read a lot and watched a new apple program called The New Look about Dior and Chanel during WW2. Made a big pot of chili.
