The woman wants freaking Subway for her birthday dinner! . Whatever. I got her a nice Black Forest cake Everyone will be gone long before 8 pm ... we party hard! Thinking healing thoughts for you scrapmaven! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

I hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday. We went to church this morning and not much else has happened. Right now we’re watching our team’s football game for this weekend, having just finishes watching our women’s team play. Women won, hope the men can do the same.
Dinner tonight is going to be gyros pork strips, with rice, spinach and tzatziki.
The week ahead doesn’t look to busy at this point. I am back to my doctor tomorrow for my quarterly diabetes check, it I will also follow up with her on my gut issues - it’s no fun feeling like you are doing colonoscopy prep every second day. DH has two nights at the sleep clinic as well - it will be interesting to see how that pans out. The doctor he spoke to at the pre-appointment said he was borderline.

leannec I hope you enjoy your gathering. Little Ky is getting so much more interactive that we really had a great time last night. He even gave me a high five. We are having a quiet day today. There are plenty of sweets to eat. Jeremy is insistent on making cheeseburgers for dinner tonight. So I'm just going to let him go with his bad self and shut up and eat meat. Besides he's making French fries and I could really go for salt and fat. Today is the Daytona 500 to kick off race season so he's riding the couch. I've got laundry going and I'm trying to get part 2 of my crochet club shawl done without running out of yarn. When that's done, I'm going to start cutting fabric. Have a good day!

Did he see it was postponed? Rain delay so tomorrow is a double header. I think they moved it to 4pm eastern time. Ds is a NASCAR FSN so I saw the update. ETA The Xfinity Series race is now scheduled for 11 a.m. ET Monday morning, hours ahead of the 4 p.m. ET start time for the Daytona 500.

Just got back from our walk. The weather cooperated but it's supposed to start raining again this afternoon through Tues/Wed. Dinner will be Tri-Tip roast. Yum! The meme says *Find someone who loves you as much as this sketch artist.

Happy Sunday! I am working but not very motivated to do much. 5 of the 6 grandkids spent the night. We had a great time. Watched a move and ate popcorn. They say their Pa makes the best milkshakes so we had to have those as well. Happy Birthday to your Mum leannec. We are having meatloaf for dinner.

DH and I just got back from a small road trip. He sold some ATV tires online and the buyer asked if they could meet halfway to get them. It was a nice drive, DH made some cash and we had lunch before heading back home.
We had supper out last night and it was delicious. The restaurant had a special for two that included appetizers, entrees with all you could eat salad and bread and dessert. The table was full of food and we brought almost half of it home. We needed 3 doggie boxes! So supper tonight will be rechauffe cheese capaletti for me and chicken tettrazini for DH.
It’s a quiet week here. DS is still in Winnipeg this week so I’ll probably do a bit of childcare after school. I have to take my mom to a dr appt on Wednesday. With all the books I bought at the book sale, I foresee some reading in my future.
Tomorrow is Family Day in Ontario so kids are off school and for some employees, it’s a paid holiday.

Happy Birthday to your mum leannec and to Jeremy jeremysgirl! rainy here and chilly (40s). DD17's troop broke camp early to avoid a bad thunderstorm coming in so we picked her up at 1230 instead of 4 and she (of course) wanted to eat out for lunch so McAllisters it was. dinner tonight is hotdogs, grapes, oranges, and carrot-raisin salad

Happy birthday to leannec 's mom and to Jeremy jeremysgirl! scrapmaven hope you get released from Club Med today!! DH is out on a walk with our pupper. I decided to try a new digestive supplement and decided I would stay at home in case it did not react well with my system. I've been trying to get my new airpods from Amazon. Ordered for same day delivery on Friday and when it was 3 stops away it disappeared. Of course they say wait and see if it will arrive. Called again today and they will now deliver tomorrow even though I could have ordered online and received it today. Frustrating especially since I will be home all day and don't have to worry about porch pirates. Tonight is rechauffe chili.

Hi to all the dinner crew. Sorry I've been MIA. I've been reading off and on, but just haven't been able to bring myself to post. My life is a bit of a shit show, a bit on the crazy side, nothing that I recognize from my old life. Trying to get my house ready to sell, which is turning out to be a bigger job than expected. Finished my first 2 classes for my bookkeeping certificate, starting another one March 1. Went down to Honduras for 2 weeks to get that house on the market - that was a story and a half in itself, and very emotionally challenging. Currently living alone because dd and I had a pretty major blowout over the house, and she & her bf & her dog have gone to live with DS for awhile. And while he is trying to remain neutral on this whole thing, but in doing so I have barely heard from him. So yup, feeling all on my own right now. I have decided I am very firmly in the pity-party stage of grief. And that is why I haven't been posting too much. Oh, and to add to all my chaos I am getting a puppy on March 1. Which I'm happy about because I really could use a companion. But in the planning of this dd was going to be around to help me. Now I'm not so sure.
But I hope everyone is well. I think about you all quite often.

I always forget how much I like this thread for some reason. I think I automatically tune out the threads with "repeat names," though I certainly understand why it is what it is! DH took me out for our anniversary last night to a swanky type Japanese restaurant. We had some great food and some that I probably just couldn't sufficiently appreciate the difference between good and very good. I was seriously underwhelmed by most of the clientele's dress code, though. We live in a very casual town, but this is a very danged expensive restaurant. I guess, to be fair, the people wearing the slippers waiting for a table *were* wearing Gucci slippers... (They were like old-fashioned house shoes, no, they weren't just slides or anything, and yes, I'll admit to being an old fuddy duddy and judgy on this topic.) Tonight we made our original Saturday-planned meal of a pork mojo bowl. I got DH a cookbook for Christmas that was America's Test Kitchen "Bowls." It's a standing joke around here that he loves anything if I call it a bowl, so I thought that might be a fun thing for us to do every couple of Saturdays or so. (He can't cook much at all!) I cooked the pork on Tuesday (?) and made double, so I served it then with sweet potatoes, etc. - but I froze half and then thawed it and used it today. It was OK, I didn't love it and it was wayyyy too much work for how good it was. But DH liked it, so that's good!

I’m sure your mom enjoyed her Subway leannec. We had too many snacks so we decided that we didn't need Subway! We had filled up on cheese, crackers, sausage, pickles, chips and salsa! Played some Scrabble and then ate Black Forest cake ... my Mum was happy!

I was hungover today and apparently incapable of posting at a decent hour. Crab feed last night was great fun. My son shelled my crab for me, just like his dad used to do, so he’s on my good side today. I ran the 14yo and his friend to a town half an hour away for badminton (yes, the kid has moved from tae kwon do to badminton now … we are nothing if not nerdy) so DS wouldn’t have to drive both ways himself. Dinner tonight was a bacon sandwich and potato salad. And banana cake from yesterday.
