Lego. And more Lego. And probably some more after that. I made the mistake of getting an extra desk and a Kallax for the craft room, so that DS had somewhere to build. Yeah, the Lego has taken over. We’re talking all but the very first modular building, dozens of Star Wars sets including the large AT-AT, a roller coaster and a carousel and a haunted house. Cinderella's Castle at WDW, the original Hogwarts. A typewriter and a globe, and countless other sets. Oh, and approximately 800 minifigures.
Needless to say, my craft supplies pale in comparison. 😄

Clothing. I worked at a major department store for a long time. The deals I would get on clothes was hard to pass up. Most of them are classic styles and will last me forever.
Photos. Shoe boxes full. Lots and lots of photos. I’m always making a scrapbook for a relative.

Without a doubt, JEWELRY (including watches) with a close second place going to BOOKS,, but luckily they’re on my Kindles so they don’t take up any space.
Definitely in the running, would be beverage GLASSES/tumblers/mugs/water bottles; not a season/holiday goes by without new ones appearing.

Nail polish! I no longer have an up to date SS, but it's in the 2000-3000 range.
Cats! (5)
Custom Nikes! (Not the most in the world, but prob the most on this board. I did give that habit up)
Purses! I gave that habit up too though and mostly just carry a Kate Spade backpack unless I'm needing to be a bit more fancy.
Washcloths! I guarantee I would win this contest on this board, especially since so many here don't use them. 🤭
Vapid indie brand bath products--an entire two shelves full because FOMO all the scents. I am now reformed and concentrating on using up all the products I have.
Barbies and other fashion dolls! I have donated dozens upon dozens and still have an entire closet full, which my husband built display shelves in for me. I love them.
Dollhouses! 8 of them, plus 2 that still need to be built, that I will never get to if I live to be 100.

Scrapbooking supplies, clay/jewelry making supplies (each one has their own room since we had an extra empty space.) and shoes. I do have a lot of clothes, too. 🤦🏻♀️

Paper. I used to have over 5,000 books, but pared it down to closer to 600. Second would be holiday decor.

Are we going by number of items, volume (how much room it takes to store), or amount of money spent? Asking for a friend. 😂 I have a few collections of things that I have acquired through the years, but the only ones where I have more than everyone else I know is nail polish and cast iron cookware. Hmm, I wonder who has more NP, me or you...I haven't updated my SS in 6 years. I did a massive purge before I moved and got rid of about 500. I definitely have between 2000-3000, all neatly arranged in 4 IKEA Helmers.

I would have to say scrapbook supplies. Luckily I am a digital scrapper, so my gazillion kits are hidden in the cloud and on my MacBook, so nobody except for me has any idea just how many scrapping products I own! I got rid of 95% of my books many years ago. I still have a TON of books, but they're all on my Kindle, so they don't take up any room. Likewise my tens of thousands of photos - all in the cloud. Except for the few photo books I've printed. Thank goodness for digital technology - I'd have to buy a bigger house if I was still using paper scrapbooking products / real books / printing my photos.

How do you see them in the drawers, are they somehow stored upside down? What’s the best quality, most chip resistant? I have so many questions! How do these drawers compare to Alex? They’re so much less expensive and I’ve been putting off getting them for that reason. This will probably horrify you but I just cut mine down to 3, and I’ll be getting rid of them if my spa got better colors in since I was last there before COVID. I purchased these to take with me I do have around 2 dozen white wash clothes for my face. I use them when doing my skincare routine to dry, keep my hands wiped off, etc. then when I’m done I wipe the sink and countertop so it’s always pretty pristine and put in the laundry. So I have a lot because we don’t have to do whites every week. Well, we just replaced purple sheets with white ones so now every week when we wash the sheets we throw the towels and wash clothes in with them. That’s my excuse, so I must know, why do you have so many?

Well, we just replaced purple sheets with white ones so now every week when we wash the sheets we throw the towels and wash clothes in with them. That’s my excuse, so I must know, why do you have so many? First of all I heartily approve of your whole post, lol. I somewhat regularly go through all the drawers and shake them up, or look at them, see what might need thinner (most never do). I have only lost 1 or 2 that just could not be thinned and refused to live. I still have a few polishes I had in the 90s-00s. Keep the necks wiped clean when you are done and they generally last just as long as paint does (and that's a very long time). People have polishes from the 40s and 50s that are still usable, though they're generally just collector items at that point! I don't have a catalogue and the SS was just for my own benefit. I have only once bought something I already had by accident. In general anything I buy is an indie brand or a seasonal collection, so the chances of repeating are fairly slim. I just know in general where they are in the Helmers and they are arranged by brand/collection/color. They aren't upside down, I have to pull them out when I get to that area of the drawer. Which I enjoy because it's like visiting old friends I give the neighbors a good shake and inspection. If I've worn it twice, I must like it. If I've worn it twice in one year, it's definitely Top Tier. I am pretty particular about my toes though and only use a handful of the same polishes for those. Helmers used to be much cheaper and much better quality than they are now, but they're still hands down the best way to organize and store a lot of polish safely. My original 2 are so much nicer than my newer 2. I have given myself a lifetime limit of 4 and I do about once a year go through and purge. There really is no "best" brand, everyone has different body chemistry and nail composition (like hair) so everyone will likely have a different experience. That said, some brands really have their formulas down pat. Indies will give you the most variety and the best brushes IMO. Better known indie brands are consistently superior and make up the bulk of my purchases, which is now down to about 0-4 a month because it has to be rather special for me to bother with it at this point. I do still love me some OPI but mainstream collections are pretty boring compared to what I can get from Polish Pickup or Hella Handmade, etc. Washcloths, I use colored ones for my face to hide makeup stains and white ones for my body so I can bleach them and I buy brand new ones each time I have a guest coming so the sheer number of them is ridiculous. Guests always get brand new white cloths and towels.

Craft supplies mostly scrapbook/card making and stamps. Way too many kits and stamp sets. I also have yarn and other craft supplies.
Clothes Blankets Books DVDs Candles
Kitchen gadgets/appliances
ETA holiday decorations need to be added. We have several large shelves in the garage filled with totes. The shelves go the width of a single garage and are deep. We have been purging but still have a lot.

Do you live on an orchard or have family that is you dealer? No. I collect apples. Wall art, dishes, clocks, jewelry, tape holder, post-it holders green and red, glass, glass jug lamps, et al!! Oh like not actual apples, I was way off Zee Your memory must be so much better than mine, I have no idea how you know where the different polishes are and remember what you have! Especially enough to navigate without being able to see the colors. I had around 10,:if that, and when I’d go into the nail kit bag there was always a surprise “oh I forgot I had this one!” Your collection must feel like Christmas every time for you! I will keep indie brands in mind when I buy polish again…in a few years I had no idea different products would work better for different people since nails are a hard surface I assumed they were pretty much the same. Though, now that I really think about it I think I might have some slight changes (like vertical ridges) from psoriatic arthritis and I can see how that might affect adhesion. I think the last time I had paint on my nails was December 2019 for a vacation, and it was just clear lol. I like to keep them short, squoval, moisturized cuticles and buffed with cream and a shammy type buffer every week. Except when I had fake nails applied for my wedding, they just always chip too easily. Fully polished nails are beautiful, really chipped nails are not. So I’d rather they were bare. But my toenails being painted makes me smile at my fat little toes every time I see them! And that lasts until I have them painted again or they grow out. I use a great oil based cleanser first which rinses off so I don’t get makeup on my washclothes, but colored ones would have come in handy before I started taking my makeup off this way. And I’m lazy so I don’t want to have to do more than one load of linens/towels a week so everything being white negates the need for that. Still miss only having to do the load every other week. Your linen closet must be absolutely massive! All of our towels, including the 4 huge swim towels, are on one 3’ shelf. And my washclothes are in a small drawer.

dewryce I have the cloths and towels spread throughout 4 bathrooms so it's not a ton in one place. Well, it's too many in my bathroom for sure, but I have actually quit buying any new ones! Every now and then I take the older cloths and use them for some deep cleaning or staining project and then toss. The Helmer drawers do have brand labels on the outside which helps, but I also just kind of "know" where I last saw them (a picture in my mind, like the thread from a few days ago) so I just kind of know what's next to what, which collection goes where, and where I can find pretty much anything I'm looking for. I guess it's like jewelry or other accessories to me? I do forget about some of them and enjoy finding them again while poking around in there! I use a good base coat or a clear gel base, which makes the polish last much longer, plus a quick dry top coat. I cannot have fake or chipped nails at work. I can't stand when my polish chips and I do my nails very often because I like to. It's relaxing. Yes I'm weird lol but you knew that

I've spent the last few years reducing the amount of stuff I have, I find these days having a lot of anything makes me feel almost claustrophobic. The thing that takes up most room in our house is Blizzard entertainment (WOW/Diablo etc) memorabilia. My husband has collected a ridiculous amount of it over the years he's worked for them. I guess my thing is books but they're mostly on Kindle.

Scrapbooking supplies (a blessing and a curse)
Fabric (so much fabric!) Thank goodness one of DGD's has taken up sewing - every time she's here, I give her some I don't ever sew that much anymore - old eyes - but when I did, I called myself a fabric junkie.

I also have an above-average number of sewing machines same...I have a modern one (2006) and so does DD17 (2018 ish). But I also have 4 vintage - 1928 Jones Treadle, a 1923 Singer 127 (knee lever), a 1937 Singer 99, and a 1970s Singer Fashionmate. I have a 1960s Dressmaker which DS now has and a modern Singer that DD23 now has. And I imagine that if DH comes across a handcrank in good condition at a decent price...one of those will come home as well.
