Love your new glasses leannecMy yearly eye appointment is soon so I’ll be looking for new ones. I’ll get sunglasses too. I’m on my phone so the meme is blurry today and I cannot really see what’s hanging 😹 Had a facial this morning My skin was so dry from flying. Then I went to the grocery store. Forgot dish detergent again. **GypsyGirl** my dh is going to the rodeo Monday or Tuesday with a client. He flies out Monday so probably Tuesday. Anyway he was told to bring a cowboy hat and boots. Neither of which he owns. Can you suggest what other attire will work? He has another client there with a ranch and he insists they go boar hunting on his property. Dh does not hunt but he has fun riding around on 4 wheelers. He’s actually relieved they never actually a boar. We’re having Parmesan crusted chicken with baked potatoes, salad and green beans. sueg I’m so glad no appendicitis.

cadoodlebug I could've sworn I had a recipe for it that included spinach. Yes! It's a Skinny Taste recipe.

Hey y’all. Sorry I’ve been missing for the last couple days. My vacation in Florida ended with a huge bang and not a good one. I had invited a friend to go with me. She and I taught together a long time ago and remained friends and then my classroom happened to move back into the high school where I that only became friends with her, but had my first job as a special ed teacher.
She walked every morning either to the beach or down some side streets and on Tuesday she called me and said that she had fallen and was hurt very badly. So I called my niece real quick as I got into the car to go get her and said, where is the best urgent care. Long story short the urgent care was awesome and if you’re ever in Florida, I’m not sure where else they are. It’s owned by a woman and they have many offices is called Dr. G. The staff there was absolutely kind and caring and we were in and out in under two hours, which I think was a miracle.
Had x-rays, etc. etc. elbow was broken and we were able to get an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon when we got back here for Thursday. We flew home Wednesday night thank God it was a direct flight. She has to have surgery on Tuesday and it’s going to be pretty extensive. Her sister is out of town, her parents are both deceased, but she’s got some cousins who are also going to help her. I am absolutely exhausted from driving her all over on Thursday and Friday and yesterday.
She’s in better spirits today knowing that she’s got a cousin who’s gonna come stay with her at some point. This is going to be a long haul for her and she’s a very active person in her local master gardener group, etc..
No idea what’s for dinner. Hope everyone is doing well. I’m glad to see some positive updates here. I head back to Florida on March 12 for two weeks.

leannec love your glasses! A great choice. Are those the L.A.M.B. ones? Thanks! Yes, they are the L.A.M.B. ones ... I like them a little more than my Burberry's which I though I would never say! .

I'm not who you where directing your question to but I have been to many rodeos ... your dh does not need cowboy boot or a cowboy hat! Boots take a long time to break in so he will be in pain and why buy a hat you will hardly ever wear? Some sturdy footwear like hikers or good tennis shoes are fine ... most cowboys wear baseball caps so that would also be an option! HTH!

I found another recipe online that is very similar so I think I'll combine the two and make it tomorrow. The pasta won't work because of the carbs and I'll add spinach. Hopefully DH will want to ask me to marry him again. Thanks! Our opinion…the chicken was a bit bland and 1 tsp of chili flakes was about 2/3 too much. It is tasty but I doubt I’d make it again.

leannec you have a great face for cool glasses - I wish I did! I have never really liked any glasses on me. I'm not a small person, but I have a pin head, so I sometimes have to buy children's glasses. And I can't wear anything with even the slightest bit of point or upturn on the corners, because I feel like Dame Edna Everage.
It's a shame I don't like wearing glasses, because my SIL owns an optometry business, and I can get my glasses as cost price, and a friend of DSO's does the lens for free. If I looked as good as you in glasses, I would probably own 50 pairs!

He’s actually relieved they never actually a boar. Rodeo opens on Tuesday so that's probably when he is going. I'm guessing he is going to the concert that evening? Opening night is Blake Shelton. Weather is going to be great on Tuesday - high of 82 and low of 67 and no rain. Lots of people attend Rodeo with no cowboy hat and boots. In fact, if you don't already have a broken in pair of boots, then you sure as heck don't want to start with a new pair at rodeo! I wore mine for the first time in ages yesterday and my feet were killing me last night. If he fancies a cowboy hat, there are plenty available to purchase from the vendors there. DH typically wears something like a denim shirt with khaki pants. He doesn't even own jeans. I hope he enjoys his time in the 4-wheeler. Hunting isn't for everyone (self included) but we are thankful for any wild boar they can take out. They are a serious nuisance here and can destroy so much property.

You too leannecHe had no intention of buying boots but wasn’t sure what other option to take. He is going to Blake Shelton. I was so excited when he told me. He on the other hand didn’t know who he is. Once I showed him pictures he said he looks familiar. christine58 how awful for your friend. I must say our last few urgent care experiences have been very good.

This is probably a dumb question but… What is the difference between urgent care and the ER?

This is probably a dumb question but… What is the difference between urgent care and the ER? Urgent care facilities are like walk-in care for non-emergent situations that might come up when a doctor's office is closed (or open, but doesn't have availability to be seen): illness, bug bite reactions, some have x-ray capabilities, things like that; whereas emergency rooms are better suited for things like chest pain, stroke symptoms, and the like. This link summarizes it well: www.scripps.org/news_items/4231-should-you-go-to-the-emergency-room-or-urgent-careEx., for cold symptoms, I would go to urgent care if my primary care provider was unavailable; I went to the ER when I had suspected appendicitis.

Exactly this. I will say when I call my primary care for an illness like sinus or respiratory illness and the receptionist says she can see you next week , I’ll say oh I’ll just go to UC then. They magically can get me in that day.

This is probably a dumb question but… What is the difference between urgent care and the ER? Do you not have urgent care/walk-in clinics in your area? There are a few in my area of SW Ontario. We used to have one called "Prompt care" except it really wasn't *prompt*. They usually have 1 physician and 2 Nurse Practitioners. The other thing that helps is now that Certified Pharmacists can prescribe/ give a diagnosis of many issues. Saves a doctor visit and is free with OHIP card. I realise that the health care system in Ontario is in shambles, a real mess, but these Urgent Care facilities are great to have. Yes, the wait is long but it isn't in the ER/ED (Emergency Room/Emergency Department).

christine58 how awful for your friend. And what a disappointment too for your holiday together. It happened the day before we were leaving. I’m just thankful she didn’t hit her head on the pavement. She tripped over a water drainage grate. we both told my mother that it’s a good thing. I didn’t happen the day we were leaving because there was no way she could get on a plane. She can’t take a lot of pain meds because she’s allergic to some of the stronger ones so she alternated Tylenol and ibuprofen. She’s got a long road ahead of her as far as rehab. But until that point, we had a great time. She just broken up with a boyfriend of about a year so it was nice for her to be able to get away. She also knows at the age of 65 her bones are going to not heal quite as fast. Thank God she’s retired from teaching

I certainly don't look good in all glasses ... I tried on some with the clear frames ... OMG! NO!

My food mill arrived in time for dinner and sure saved me a lot of time removing the tomato skins. It's a keeper.
