Just wondering if you can delete a post as I read a reply to a post and I can't find it. Did I imagine it? Guess I am.

And the OP can delete their OP but the thread stays if there is at least 1 comment. If there are no comments, the thread will be deleted. Thus why peas quote certain peas.

Yes. You can delete a post.
You can’t delete an entire thread. The OP can delete their OP, but the thread will still show up, it just might not make sense, lol.

On my phone you click the *, then select delete. Click okay and it will ask you to type delete. Then you click okay and it is deleted. ETA I believe it is the same symbol on desktop version too.

If you go to the person's post history, the post won't show?

If you go to the person's post history, the post won't show either? I am assuming it won't. Never went to look.

Now I am curious in what you think you saw. Must have been something interesting.

I know this has already been answered but yes, people can dirty delete (making an asshole comment and then going back and removing it), and that's why the quote feature is so often used for controversial posts.
The only time I have deleted was when I felt I was giving a bit too much info. Occasionally I edit for clarity or typos. Otherwise I prefer to let my posts stand and let the chips fall where they may.

I've deleted my own thread and posts before. Sometimes when I post from my phone, I'll push the wrong button and my unfinished thread will post. I actually did that the other day with my religion thread. I pushed something, and I was only half way done with the poll but the thread posted. I deleted the entire thread fairly quickly, so maybe there is a time limit. Or as someone else said, if no one has commented on it yet. And there is no time limit to deleting posts.
