It was 75º here on Monday. Tuesday was cooler. Last night the temp dropped to the high teens and we had a little snow squall. This morning it was 1º this and windy! That is actual temp, not wind chill. So thankful we late calve and don't have any on the ground yet. We have been spoiled by the very mild winter here. Had a week or two of painful cold earlier, but hardly any snow this year. What snow we did have went into the ground, and not into the waterways, thankfully! The ground is usually frozen and snow melt just does down the river mostly. Ground really never froze hard this year. Ice was off the lakes and rivers in early February. We are extremely drouthy. Subsoil moisture is almost non existent. DH has planned for drought conditions for at least the next two years. We were very lucky to get two big rains at just the right time to put an ear on the corn plant, and then put weight into the kernels. Very lucky - otherwise it easily could have been a nearly zero yield year. But none of that moisture went into the subsoil. We are very concerned! Reading about mom wildfires is so concerning. We were in Red Flag warning Monday and Tuesday, due to wind, dry conditions and very low humidity. Hoping everyone's spring weather is mild! But hopefully damp!

It is crazy here in Minnesota, too! It's 2 degrees F this morning, with 68 degrees forecast for Sunday.
The ice has gone off my pond 3 times. Normally it's just once, maybe in late March. This winter it was December 26th after 3" of rain, then February 8th, and again on Monday night.

I was going to say the same thing mikklynn did. The ice on the lakes this winter has never really been safe for anything people usually do in the winter because it’s been so warm. We were supposed to have a huge tree taken down this winter but it never happened because the ground never fully froze and the tree company didn’t want to wreck the neighbor’s lawn with their big boom truck. The lack of snow almost guarantees that there will be widespread drought coming and I wouldn’t be surprised if there are problems with wildfires here this summer too. As much as I didn’t mind the mild winter, I realize there is a “not awesome” flip side to that coin.

We had 64 degrees on Monday and Tuesday it was snowing and today we have snow day. Tomorrow should be close to 60 degrees again. This is really common, so I just expect a possible snowstorm anytime from November to May 20th.

Our winter has been fairly mild as well. We've been in the 70-high 80's for the last two weeks and it's been nice. Of course, today and tomorrow we are mid 50s so that sucks for us.

Yes, we have had absolutely beautiful weather since the weekend. Sun and 70s. Yesterday, we hit 80. But had wind advisories all day long. We hit our high of 57 just after midnight and we are on our way down. Right now it is 48. I don't think we are to go lower than mid 40s. I don't mind because I love my warm comfy clothes. But I wish Mother Nature would just pick a season and stay there.

We were over 90 two days ago and it's 40 here now. Supposed to be cold for the next two days and then warm back up into the 70s. I had to pull out my sweatshirt and jeans today!

Oh I know, in January we had a cold snap. Around -40 with windchill of -53C/-63F and 10 days later it was +15C/59F. We've had a beautifully mild winter, unfortunately not much snow. We did get some on Sunday, -24C/-10F today but pure blue sky and sunshine and it's so bright and sparkly out.

It's crazy! Yesterday, it was 85. 85 in February! This morning, it was 23 and there was a dusting of snow on the ground. Crazy!

Our second mild winter in a row. Except for one major snow a couple of weeks ago, it's been mainly in the 40s. It's foggy, rainy and in the 50s now, rain and high winds later and a return to the 20s. But the birds are returning and the bulbs are coming up.
