Hi everyone! Welcome to March! It is cold and snowy here ... so glad I have 4WD in my Jeep because I need to run a couple of errands today ... I'm going to do not much else ... If the weather doesn't get nasty, my girlfriend will come over for dinner ... we decided last night that I shouldn't be on the roads ... If she does come over we will probably order from our fav Italian place. This is what I posted on Facebook yesterday ... I have a small collection of Wrendale items, including my llama in glasses mug! It's one of my favs to drink my tea out of in the morning! Are you a morning tea drinker like me? Or a coffee drinker? Or do you drink something else? Or nothing at all? Is Mr. scrapmaven's "Graduation" party tonight? Tell us his reactions! What are your plans today? What is on your menu? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

You are such a cutie leannec! I too am dying to hear about Mr. scrapmaven graduation party. The weather is so nice here that Jeremy has scheduled a golf game for tomorrow. Unheard of for March. Jeremy went to the store this morning with a list I had prepared. I prepared a menu for this week...look at me planning ahead!!!🤣 I was going to make something simple today so I could quilt all afternoon. But Jeremy is begging for fresh pasta. Haha....he also requested an apple strudel cake. So I am going to get laundry going and get my cake going. And probably crochet in between. Crochet you can really stop and start. So I'll do that today. I only have 5 more rounds to finish my blanket. Eek! I'm roasting a chicken for dinner and pairing it with a garlic miso pasta and some roasted broccoli. He's thrilled. And napping. Because going to the grocery store is a very hard thing for a man. The rest of the day he needs to be pampered and spoiled dontcha know! I posted this on my Facebook wall today and it was funny how many people did not catch my humor. What is the difference between these two cans?

Good evening we are about ready to eat dinner. DH has prepared us a Mexican feast, so your picture is quite apt jeremysgirl . Here we would have the can on the right, as it would probably be from Spain. Or we would have 'schwarz bohnen' - the German - if they were just regular canned beans. Dinner is chicken breasts with homemade mole sauce and corn chips - also homemade. There is also salad and crema. Our weather is delightful. We had rain overnight but then it turned to a glorious sunny day. We are expecting very springlike weather this week - up to 17°C in the next couple of days. leannec - I am a coffee drinker. I grew up on tea, but switched somewhere in my Uni years and now only rarely drink tea - usually when I'm sick. I love your llama mug!

We walked this morning between storms. It was about 39 degrees and I almost froze. We keep our heat on 67 so when we walked into the house it felt like 80! Dinner will be grilled (in the oven) flank steak with more of those green beans almondine. I could eat them every night! leannec, I don't drink coffee and occasionally will drink green or black tea. Otherwise, it's always water. jeremysgirl , I got the black beans joke! scrapmaven , can't wait to hear about the party!

You have to be familiar with that particular brand of beans, don't you cadoodlebug? I thought it was super funny how many people assumed I didn't understand the Spanish. 😂

DH and I went into the city this morning. I needed to get the tax computer program so I can file our taxes, my moms and YDSs. We had lunch at a new to us small bistro and it was delicious. I’m babysitting the grandboys tonight for a few hours while DS and DDIL go to the local brewery to hear a band. leannec: Was it you who mentioned Below Deck a few days ago? I’ve seen it advertised but have never watched it. If I like reality shows, do you recommend it? I don’t drink hot liquids which I hate because coffee and tea is such a social thing. I normally drink ice cold water and often put some flavouring in it. I also have a Pepsi Zero every day. Supper tonight will be rechauffe beef roast, potatoes and carrots.

The party has been postponed til Wednesday, because I forgot that ods has a work conference and is out of town. That's fine, because I need more time to pick up a couple of things. I hope to get into my office and make a retirement card for dh. We were supposed to do a little getaway during the week, but that area currently has blizzard-like conditions. So, we've sadly, postponed. Unlike our fabulous ntsf , I am a ski school drop out. I will update you on Thursday am about his little retirement Zoom party. Dinner will either be takeout, TJ's bbque teryaki chicken or Chinese noodle soup. How's that for up in the air? I am a coffee drinker. I've never cared for the taste of tea, though I do drink green tea. For a while they cut off my caffine, but I decided that w/everything I can't have I'm keeping my morning coffee. I have to take a stand somewhere!!!!! jeremysgirl , I get that one can is in Spanish and one is in English. I know I'm missing something and it's driving me batty.
taylortroop, I watch Below Deck. It's Bravo reality tv, which means lots of unnecessary drama that is fun to watch. It's interesting to see how the other half lives, but I think that much of the behavior must be encouraged by the producers. It's worth a watch. Enjoy today, my friends. I hope that you're warm and toasty now, cadoodlebug .

leannec: Was it you who mentioned Below Deck a few days ago? I’ve seen it advertised but have never watched it. If I like reality shows, do you recommend it? I recommend it if you enjoy kind of trash reality TV! It's a lot of drama surrounding people in their 20's and 30's who work on expensive boats ... you get some footage from the rich people to do the vacation but it is mainly the crew ... I like it a lot because it is kind of a trainwreck! If you have the time, I would go back and start at the beginning ... there are a few franchises: Below Deck, Below Deck Med, Below Deck Sailing, Below Deck Australia, Below Deck Adventure (only one season of that) ... HTH!

Well it snowed 7 inches last night. I got up and did the debate.. which mountain to go ski? it was 14 and almost 40 mph wind on the big mountain, and I could hear the avalanche guns booming away.. so there would be a significant delay in my fav slopes.. and it is a sat.. so very crowded.
decided not to do that today.. and went on the "beginner" hill out the back door. I still skied the fresh deep stuff.. it was fun first few runs.. but you had to steer through it with technique. and the visibility was only good for about 20 min out of two hours out bashing around. met several other people who made the same decision.
dinner last night was great.. and we have leftover chicken, and we brought home a pizza so dinner is covered.
laundry and reading day.

DH and I tried to watch Below Deck and lasted about 10 minutes. Not our cup of tea. I can't drink ice cold water for some reason. I drink room temperature which is easy in Europe since they usually don't give you ice.

I was an avowed tea drinker.. like my welsh grandmother.. but then I was working one summer for the forest service.. and we would be out standing for 8 hours in a snow storm.. and at lunchtime on the bus, the only thing hot was thermoses of coffee.
I drink one cup a day with lots of milk. and we like our coffee.. ground from beans, made drip at home. I still drink tea. I have a hard time when we go to australia or new zealand.. and I navigate around with a long black.. and a side of cold milk.

I love coffee in the morning. And right now I'm making afternoon coffee. And sometimes there's after dinner coffee. I like flavored coffees but black.

I think that coffee should be a food group! I have a cup of decaff at night.

I think that coffee should be a food group! I have a cup of decaff at night. Yeah I drink regular in the morning but decaf the rest of the day. Because it's just not good for your heart to have so much caffeine. But I could probably do decaf even in the morning. I don't think I feel anything from caffeine. I think it's because of my bipolar meds.

Thanks for the intel about Below Deck. I have my favourite shows that I watch regularly but I always need something to fill in the gap if nothing is on. I don’t need any brain food, just pure entertainment so it sounds like I should try it.
I’m having a bit of trouble right now hearing the tv. With my current hearing aids, I Bluetooth the tv through the hearing aids so I hear everything as clear as can be. Since they are in for a checkup, I’m using a pair of old ones that aren’t Bluetooth compatible. I have to turn the volume way up and still sometimes I can’t decipher what people are saying.

I have to turn the volume way up and still sometimes I can’t decipher what people are saying. We watch most shows these days with closed captioning on. Don't know if it's us but actors seem to mumble more than they used too. Also, background music is annoyingly loud.

I'm a coffee drinker any time of the day and every now and then I will have a cup of hot tea. Tea is probably better for me because I drink it unsweetened hot or cold. Coffee, I need my cream and sugar for it.
For dinner we are eating at the clubhouse. Baked fish and boiled shrimp with baked potato, coleslaw, a roll and ice cream for dessert.

Happy Saturday! I took a mental health day from work today. The two youngest grandsons spent the night last night. We had a nice evening playing board games and eating popcorn. DH and I ran a bunch of errands after we took the boys home. I convinced him to go to the gym with me. It had been months since I had been. It felt so good to go! Came home and cleaned up around the house. Now the granddaughters are here to spend the night. We will be watching Purdue basketball tonight. Boiler Up! I am a tea drinker. Hot tea in the winter and unsweetened iced tea all year round. Those are some cute glasses leannec. Maybe you just make them cute! jeremysgirl that crumb cake looks heavenly. DH is currently fixing chili for dinner.

Hey all - I got my taxes done - at least business woop woop! Now I can enjoy my trip next week! I have no clue what's for dinner, whatever my husband makes and he's probably gotta go to the store first. I am a big coffee drinker in the morning, strong and black. I try not to have it later in the day as it really does muck up my already iffy sleep patterns. Okay jeremysgirl what am I missing?

Not sure what we're having for dinner, possibly rechauffe - there are several choices. Taking it easy here today, even though there are a ton of chores I should be doing. jeremysgirl - the cake looks awesome, yum!

I drink coffee exactly the same as ntsf and only 1 cup a day. The rest of the day it can be water- cold, hot, iced whatever. So I’m fine in Europe. Or Diet Coke. If it’s super cold I like hot peppermint tea or a citrus version. Went to our wine tasting. We had a porcini risotto, some kind of spare ribs and a cheese tray. No cooking for me. Happy Saturday.

It's my last day here in Perth, boo! And summer is also over, BOO! Not that you would know it, it's still in the mid 30s over here, and will be in the low to mid 30s a few days over the next week back in Melbourne. We went out for dinner to a rooftop bar and restaurant. The food is Asian Fusion, which is the favourite cuisine for all four of us. The food was amazing, we ate so much: ~ Charred Street Corn Fritters; chilli jam, kimchi ~ Thai Fried Squid; basil, salted chilli, green onion ~ Pan Seared Scallops; fermented chilli, coriander oil, yuzu pearls ~ Sticky Eggplant; kelp soy & lime caramel, fried crispies, black garlic mayo ~ Karaage Chicken; chilli caramel, smoked kewpie ~ Mongolian Sticky Beef; sweet & sour sambal, crispy potato ~ Gado Gado Steamed Dumplings; roasted peanut dressing ~ Prawn & Ginger Dumplings; Malaysian laksa, chilli oil, togerashi I am a coffee drinker, and my favourite part of the day is having my first coffee while Peaing! I usually have two coffees by about 10:30am, then another one at about 3:30pm, then my last one somewhere between 8:30pm and 9:30pm. Coffee doesn't keep me awake, so I can have one even later, then still be able to go straight to sleep.

I typically don't drink tea or coffee in the morning, just water. I do sometimes like herbal tea at night after dinner. jeremysgirl lovely cake! cadoodlebug we also will do the closed captioning at dh's request, and for some shows where yes it may be hard to follow. AussieMeg what a wonderful dinner! Our neighbor had a car stolen right in front of our house. First auto theft or catalytic converter that I know of in our court. I put an apple airtag in our car that sits outside the garage. Awful to have to think aboutl. Today I finished our personal taxes. Yay! Tonight is the last of the pork chili. I'm glad I don't have to cook on top of taxes!
