The Fiasco from the Guardian
Have you guys heard about this? A new author tanked her career by creating a fake Good Reads account to negatively affect her competition. They already had a decent book deal. Friends with some of the authors via private on-line group. Name has been put in spoiler because she doesn’t deserve any mention. Cait Corrain The affected authors are POC in the Sci-fi, LGBTQ+, genre. Thought I would share since we were talking about the callous restaurant owner.

Intentionally leaving bad reviews to hurt other Authors, is malicious and heinous. I am glad she lost her book deal. That is called karma and consequences for ones actions.
I think the name Cait Corrain should be announced everywhere and be public knowledge, so that the general public knows who she is and what she did. Keeping her name quiet or hidden, comes across as >> excusing bad behavior.

Intentionally leaving bad reviews to hurt other Authors, is malicious and heinous. I agree! Emily Giffin had people leave bad reviews on one of her books because she was outspoken about the latest presidential election. They were doing it even before the book was published. She's a great person and I love her books, but there were people who thought she should just write her books and shut up about anything else.

What a complete POS! I really don't think it's normal to completely trash talk your competition when you are depressed, but I guess I handle it differently.

Name has been put in spoiler because she doesn’t deserve any mention. I can understand not giving a name to someone like a serial killer who thrives on attention. But I absolutely think Cait Corrain should be named. If for no other reason than letting people know what she’s done so they can decide not to buy her books.

Wow! Seriously. The lengths people will go to. Make her name and this story public to all.

Yeah, my daughter was telling me about her at Christmas. What a terrible, awful thing to do.

I struggled with whether to name her openly. Opted to put her name in a spoiler because people may want to know before trying the link. There is another author whose name will never be uttered from my person. What the discussed author has done puts her in the same category. Not only did she work to destroy other new authors, she tried to blame it on mental illness. Reprehensible.
