It doesn't take much for me - we were just at a wedding this weekend and danced all night...I really enjoy anything from The Talking Heads to Beyonce to "Call me Maybe" to "Mr. Brightside". But But I don't really like conventional songs - for instance, we sat down for "Celebrate." Mr Brightside is a vibe! lol 😂 also sit down for any typical dances and also any conga lines! lol

I think this is highly dependent on the age of the people at the event.
If it’s lots of younger people I would play all the popular songs that have a tik tok dance that everyone will know. Like Shivers, Bloody Mary, Texas Hold ‘Em.
Some Taylor Swift.
Having the DJ do the popular activity/game dances like the Cinderella dance or switching partners every time some specific thing happens in a song.
Songs that can have conga lines, line dances, jump/mosh so that people don’t feel weird if they don’t have a partner.

SHOUT by the Isley Brothers 1959. Otis Day and the Knights (a fictional band) sang it in Animal House. People that I know won't get up and dance at weddings, always get up and dance to this one. Seeing who get can *lower* now. So much fun! And everyone is singing *You make me want to shout*. Ha! When Animal House came out, that song was of course played at all of the toga parties. Including doing “the worm.” 😁 I was in college a decade before Animal House came out but we knew the original version. I remember all the frat parties with togas, shipwreck, old south, etc. So much fun!
