If you are at a party or a wedding, what songs get you out on the dance floor? (Fast or slow)

It doesn't take much for me - we were just at a wedding this weekend and danced all night...I really enjoy anything from The Talking Heads to Beyonce to "Call me Maybe" to "Mr. Brightside". But But I don't really like conventional songs - for instance, we sat down for "Celebrate."

SHOUT by the Isley Brothers 1959. Otis Day and the Knights (a fictional band) sang it in Animal House. People that I know won't get up and dance at weddings, always get up and dance to this one. Seeing who get can *lower* now. So much fun! And everyone is singing *You make me want to shout*.

I like old rock and roll - ACDC "Shook me all night long" or Guns and Roses "Paradise City" "Sweet Child of Mine", Cheap Trick "I Want you to want me", Michael Jackson "Thriller", Songs from Footloose. Songs like that. On the country side, DH and I are big country dancers and we will dance to just about any country song.

A lot of songs (mostly R&B/disco type songs), but the one I love the most is "Into the Groove" by Madonna.

Follow you, follow me, by Genesis was my wedding song. Im terribly shy, but Can't Help Falling In Love by Elvis Presley will almost convince me to go on the dance floor.

Tonight I was dancing in the kitchen to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds Red Right Hand. I also like classic R & B. I have no idea how to dance to 70s disco. I find it undanceable.

We went to a wedding last year where they played lots of Blink 182, My Chemical Romance, April Lavigne etc, as someone who isn't a fan of disco/dance music it was great.

Honestly, the only thing likely to get me on the dance floor these days is a good quantity of booze. š

I always feel the desire to shake a tail feather to just about anything by ABBA, the BeeGees, and Earth, Wind & Fire. I was at a wedding recently (an older couple) and Donāt Leave Me This Way by Thelma Houston really got everyone going.
