Someone commented on the thread about the viral Trader Joes totes "And who doesn't love Trader Joes."
Me. I don't.
Anybody else not love Trader Joes? I feel like its mostly snack food or frozen dinners, or overpriced produce. I have walked out with nothing several times. Usually, I only shop there for party food.

I do love Trader Joes and would shop there more often if it was closer than 20 minutes away.
As a single person, I mostly buy their frozen dinners and I love, love, love their caramelized onion and cheddar cheese.
It's not someplace I would do my every day shopping but it's definitely a hit for me.

I love Trader Joe's. I could never buy all our groceries there. But some of the things I buy regularly: -- dh's favorite sourdough or rye bread -- gluten free chocolate cupcakes -- Danish Kringle, in season -- frozen chicken thighs in a bag -- palak paneer -- chocolate babka when they have it -- all the pumpkin things in the fall -- frozen gluten free pancakes -- fun chocolate things for stocking stuffers -- ginger beer -- theirs is the best of the ones I've tried Probably other things that I'm forgetting at the moment.

I've never found much there that we will eat.

Their parking lot gives me road rage, but a new (closer) location is opening soon... I might shop there more often when that happens as it will be easier to get there when they open and it's not a zoo.

I love it but not enough to go out of my way to shop there. Maybe now that there are just two of us I could do more shopping there. I prefer one stop shopping for groceries thus the reason I won’t get a card for Costco or Sam’s.

I don't love it. When it was new to me (only when I visited my Nana in Southern California) I enjoyed going in with her and looking around and purchasing some treats. Then they opened one and now two stores in my town and both have awful parking lots. Plus any produce we have purchased there goes bad within days. I might go in once a year now if I am in the neighborhood.

Meh. The one closest to me is in a very inconvenient place. I don’t find their offerings compelling enough to deal with it. Too much processed food and the unprocessed stuff is lower quality than my local grocery store.
It’s become a running joke on my neighborhood’s social media, though … anytime a new business is opening, people immediately chime in hoping or claiming it’s a Trader Joe’s. 😂

I like it for an occasional stop, but it wouldn't work well for all of our grocery shopping. One of my kids feels better not eating artificial dyes and that became our favorite place to find alternative treats for him.
We must be an outlier with the parking lot problem because I haven't noticed any issues.

I don’t love it, but don’t hate it. There is nothing there I really “need”. Yeah, some of the frozen prepared foods are good, and I’ll buy that when we go. But it is not on my regular rotation of grocery stores to go to. It is more of a “Hey, we haven’t been to TJ’s in awhile. Let’s stop and see what they have.” There is another store I prefer to go to for produce and meats. I have two that are fairly close. One has great parking, the other has a small lot with tight space.

I love Trader Joe's and would shop there often if I had one closer than the 6 hours away I do now.

I love TJs! I go probably every two weeks or so. Their parking lot is huge as it is at the other end of a Lowe's store strip mall. I mostly buy: 72% dark chocolate dry roasted slivered almonds and other nuts zucchini Teriyaki Chicken for night's I don't feel like cooking best buy on specialty pumpkins in the fall ~ less than $10 great flower selection Rain Cloud red wine ~ best buy for a pretty good everyday wine $5.99! And the friendliest clerks ever! Last week I was there on my birthday and the clerk asked my how my day was going and I mentioned it was great because it was my birthday. He gave me one of my 3-packs of chocolate free.

The nearest TJ is about 30min away so I don’t really go there to shop. It is surrounded by by some very nice stores so when I’m in the area it’s the others stores that take up my time. I haven’t tried anything from there.

I couldn't use it for all of our groceries, but I do like going there for certain items. There are several in my area so I stop there when I can. The closest one is about 10 minutes away but it's the one with the tightest parking garage, which is a bit difficult getting into and out of.

I love it and was thrilled when I found one that is not far from the Costco in Salem. I can hit both and pick up my meds on the way all in the same day. Of course it means I can barely pour myself into the house when I get home. And I only bring in freezer items and leave the rest, including refrigerator stuff in the car until the next day. Unless it is summer.
In addition to loving all of the rain here in Oregon, I am also loving the cold. In Southern California, I couldn’t really leave anything in my car. But then there wasn’t the need to since I had so many stores so close to the house that I didn’t need to combine shopping trips. There were three or four Costco stores that were all closer to me than the one Costco here. And three Trader Joe stores too. Lack of convenient shopping is a drawback, but at this stage of my life, I don’t really need to be buying much so it all works out.
I like the many frozen meal options at TJ’s and the unusual brands that you won’t find in other stores. It is perfect for a single person to shop. And I can usually get at least two meals out of the frozen offerings. They used to have a frozen pasta with mushrooms that was so tasty.

Well then you didn’t look hard enough!
just kidding, but I will say that while I didn’t like it the first time I went, after a few visits with friends I started finding unique things I did like.

I love it for certain things - they have fabulous frozen Indian meals, plus their hummus and tzatziki dips etc. Some produce is fabulous and some isn’t. I don’t love it for meat.

I don't. I am not into convenience foods and the few I have tried from them were not good at all.
Their produce never looks good or goes bad quickly.
And it is small and always so busy and the regulars are snobby and hate that I am in their way while reading ingredient lists or checking dates.

I love it. It probably helps that it’s 3 minutes from me—literally. I shop there every week. It’s cheaper than most of the other stores around here…we have some pretty stinking expensive grocery stores. As a single pringle who doesn’t love to cook, their premade meals, frozen and salads come in very handy.
About once a month, I go to a “regular” store to stock up on other things I need—especially name brand stuff.

the nearest is an hour-ish away - I'll stop in several times a year when I'm nearby and get crumpets and chocolate orange sticks but that's about it - it's a meh for me

Love it!! I think they have fun, unique food items. I do not shop for the majority of my meat there though. Not economical for a family of 5.
We have a TJs 10 min from me and I really do not get there as often as I'd like.

We love it. Their huge dark chocolate bar in the red wrapper is excellent for baking with and incredibly reasonably priced. Other things we love -cheeses, their honey goat cheese is a fav -flatbread -seasoning blends -rice cracker snack things (look like little hash browns) -dried fruits (especially the mandarins) -pickled jalapenos -cheetohs -chicken wrap sandwich with pesto dipping sauce -frozen French green beans -microwave brown rice -wine -prosecco -hard liquors -red pepper tomato soup -many pasta sauces and fresh pasta for emergency dinner -the harvest grain blend -dried pastas are cheaper there than anywhere else
You cannot beat their prices on wines or special cheeses, or the pound plus chocolate bar.
I loved their instant iced coffee powder, but that was discontinued. I wish that would come back.

I'm not a fan. We got one several years ago and we went a couple of times. There were a few treats we tried as well as some frozen entrees. Just so so quality. Small portions and very over priceds.

I think I've been twice since they put one in years ago. It isn't anywhere near me and the parking lot is always packed or hard to get into. It's close to the Costco I avoid and the other side of the road there is a college.

I go there frequently. My dh loves their organic milk and we buy their greek yogurt and eggs too which seem fresher than the grocery store. Canned aisle I get the san marzano tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, love their olive oil spray, also their broths are tasty. We also pick up dolmas, salsa verde, kalamata olives, roasted peppers, capers (very nice) etc. Their corn tortillas are great as is their pita bread and crackers. I can pick up organic butternut squash there when in season at a great price and we routinely buy their fresh turkey breasts, pork tenderloins, steaks. I love their hold the cone desserts and their ice cream bon bons. Their spinach yogurt dip is great along with their hummus. I don't buy a lot in the frozen aisle, but I like their mango, frozen naan (garlic!), teriyaki chicken for a quick dinner and I like their orange chicken too and their chicken soup dumplings.

I go every so often. With a dairy allergy, I appreciate their vegan options. Vegan offerings in prepared foods isn’t that big in Minnesota, even if I go to Lunds Byerly’s in a town with a large international population.
Their produce sucks. I never by produce there unless I’m using it the same day. Even then, I often regret it. Their flowers are less expensive, but last half the time of Costco’s.
