DSO usually goes out drinking on St Pat’s Day. But this year his and DS’s football team was playing DD’s football team, so they all went to the football instead. KelleeM and karenlou that’s a lovely photo of the two of you. I know that this is the dinner thread, but dinner was boring lasagne, so I want to talk about brunch instead. The friend who I went with knows how particular I am about brunch, so she left it up to me to choose where to eat. When I say “particular”, I mean that it needs to be special – not just bacon and eggs. The café we went to is in an old church and OMG the food was amazing! Some of you will have seen this on FB, so apologies for boring you with it again haha! Harvest Smashed Pumpkin - Smashed pumpkin and a poached egg on toasted turkish bread with crispy chilli oil. Served with rocket, feta cheese, dukkah, roasted capsicums, pink onion, smoked trout, balsamic popping pearls, hummus, with black sesame, crispy shallots & yuzu cream.

AussieMeg: That looks awesome but I have to say that I don’t even know what half those ingredients were!

christine58, ((((HUGS)))). littlemama, this is such a stressful time for your family. ((((HUGS)))). Tearisci, thank goodness the fire department responded so well. Does your mom keep hard candy and orange juice on hand? Does she have a glucagon shot for emergencies? These are things that I was made to do when I have severe hypoglycemia due to another temporary issue. Thank you for the kind thoughts. This year has not been kind to us. We very much did not want step-fil to die on the same day as fil 11 years later. His time is limited- they are going to try a sub-acute rehab and if there is no improvement, he will enter hospice care. A few nights ago, his bp dropped to 70/40 and it took 30-40 minutes to stabilize him.

cadoodlebug My DH was pretty dedicated on all his den getting the arrow of light. During our den and pack meetings there was great structure. Later we moved on and the younger brother of one of our guys didn't get the same experience. He was disappointed.

St Patty's Day is just a reminder to make and have corned beef. Don't have it often but I do enjoy it. One of DS' favorites, too.
Doesn't have to be made on the 17th either. I'm just reminded when the onslaught of corn beef hits the store's shelves. Because of work schedule, we had it early this week. Been nibbling on ever since. Yum.
