You can work with a benefits manager like Insperity or another company to help you select and manage health plans.

I'd be interested in hearing ideas as well. We have a small business and have not found an affordable option so far. At this point, it is cheaper for our employees to purchase insurance themselves through the marketplace than it is for us to purchase so we give them a stipend to do that.

The small company I worked for before retiring had coverage through our payroll provider. It was easier to let them lump us in to a bigger group with other small businesses to make the insurance affordable. Before we did that, we used a company that specialized in insurance benefits and let them manage the plans.

Is the Chamber of Commerce a thing in the states? I belong to my local Chamber and they have an insurance package for small businesses.

It is a thing in the US and ours does offer options for insurance. However, the cost was still prohibitive. We’ve also checked into options offered by the company who does our payroll.

Check out Paychex, who does our payroll. Also, if in Colorado and have more than 3 employees, company must enroll in Colorado Secure, not sure if this is health care or a savings plan.

You should have an i insurance agent for all of your various business insurances. They may also do health insurance or if not, they will be able to recommend someone

I think it depends on how many employees you’re talking about. We only had one employee so we didn’t have a big enough “group” to qualify for a group plan with the insurance company we originally had. We ended up going through our state’s marketplace which meant changing insurance companies, which also meant changing clinics, doctors, etc.
