If so, did you have any side effects?

I am prescribed it but will not take it. I had constant leg weakness. I have fallen due to leg weakness. It’s the least offensive if Lipitor and Pravachol. Good luck!

I am on a pretty low dose and have no side effects. I lost over 100 lbs and my cholesterol did not go down so I will have to continue it. I had bad leg problems with others that were prescribed.

I am on 20 mg. of Crestor and have had no side effects and my cholesterol is down a lot! Were you able to stop taking it? Well, I haven't stopped yet, it hasn't been a whole year since I started and I will go back to the heart/vein doctor this summer. My cholesterol wasn't all that high yet, it was almost high! Ha! But I had a blood clot in my leg the year before and was having issues with my toes turning blue. So I had the ultrasound on my legs again, they were clear, no clots, but still blue toes! He finally put it down as Raynaud's and gave me Crestor and changed my BP meds to amlodipine. I had knee replacement in May last year and everything is fine there, besides some scar tissue, but I can live with that! I haven't decided if I can live with my toes turning blue and being cold all the time though! I'm just so tired of getting old! I'm falling apart! Ha! My right arm falls asleep all the time, and I'm pretty sure that is starting at the elbow, which hurts. My right thumb hurts in the joint and it's got a good sized bump on it, which is most likely arthritis, as is probably the elbow! Which is then pinching a nerve or two and causing it to fall asleep! Seriously, retirement is after next school year and I don't know if I want to sit at home and dwell on these little things all the time! Anyway, back to the Crestor, I'll know more after my yearly doctor visit and my return to the heart doctor this summer! Until then, I take it!

I’m on 5 mg. No side effects. My doctor recommends taking COQ10 daily when on a cholesterol medication.

Hubby is on Crestor; I am on Pravachol. I could NOT take Crestor. I had horrendous leg cramps. Pravachol works great for me. No issues whatsoever. You probably just have to find the one that works best for you. Not everyone reacts the same way to each statin.

I take 5 mg. I've only been taking it for about a month. No side effects.

I took it many years ago, probably for a couple of years. Don’t remember the dosage. I gradually developed extreme muscle soreness and stopped taking it. Also can’t take statins as I immediately get extremely sore muscles in my hips and can’t walk. My daughter also can’t take statins.

I'm on 20mg and no side effects. My dr started me on 40mg and I had terrible leg pain. He cut the dosage to 20 and the pain went away and my cholesterol is normal now.

I was prescribed 10 mg of generic Crestor and took it for about a month. No leg pain, but I had a very abrupt increase in migraine headaches. Talked to my MD, he changed me to 10 mg of Atorvastatin (generic Lipitor). No issues at all with the Atorvastatin, been on it for about 18 months now, and my Cholesterol numbers are good.

I was recently diagnosed with familial hypercholesterolemia (totally out of the blue, my dad had it and my brother has it but I seemed to be in the clear as my cholesterol was always normal - but this year, nope!) and have been on 20mg Crestor for about three months. My numbers were very elevated (hallmark of FH) when I started and within 6 weeks, they were within normal range. I have had no side effects. I do take the recommended CoQ10 along with it.
I will be on it forever, since this is a hereditary issue, not typical high cholesterol.
