His attorney says he can't post bond for the large amount due.
I certainly don't know laws, but in my mind, if he could not post the bond for appeal, then he has to pay the fine.

The article I just read said that the bond is so he can appeal and that if he cant get anyone to underwrite the bond, the state can enforce the judgement.
I think this is a good idea (requiring the bond) because it prevents people from getting rid of all their money while appealing.
The issue is that no one wants to underwrite a bond that large and if they do, they want cash to back it up, not his inflated-value properties.

I, personally, would love to see them snag his palace in FL and set him on the curb with his clothes. Does he really have enough properties to cover it since they are looking at actual value vs his crazy inflated prices that are then so highly mortgaged? Didn’t he “sell” Mar a lago to jr last year.

Those properties are heavily leveraged. He is cash poor but paper"rich". Too bad the banks don't want his paper to secure the bond. They want cold hard cash. |

Apparently he owes about $1.1 billion, mostly due starting in 2028. Not sure how much money his properties are actually worth. NYT estimated that he had $350 million is cash, but needed $100 million to secure the bond for the E Jean Carroll case. So, he's about $250 million short. His lawyers filed paperwork with the appeals court to pause the judgement or accept $100 million. If the appeals court rejects his offer, he can appeal to the NY State Supreme Court. He could also potentially file corporate bankruptcy which would halt the judgement and prevent the NY AG's office from seizing his property. If he can't pay, the AG's office can seize assets. If he files bankruptcy again and gets out of this it will just suck. Of course people will say wow he stuck it to them and cheer. It shouldn’t be that easy when he has property that could be used to pay for it. Especially when, in one of his many depositions, he said he had like $400 million cash on hand and billions in assets. I'm absolutely SHOCKED nobody is rushing to save him. |

If he can't pay--Then what? Well, nothing ever happened when OJ didn’t pay so I’m going to assume nothing will happen to DT. I guess OJ owned less stuff so there wasn’t a whole lot to seize. I’m going to be shocked if they seize anything from Trump. Legally they can but I doubt this current SCOTUS would allow it. I’m sure he’s ties it up in trusts & LLCs & other legal obstacles to prevent anything from being seized I’m going to say nothing will happen to Trump. Same as nothing happened when he actually assaulted EJean Carroll, & all those girls at Epstein’s mansion. Like nothing happened all the times he did not pay his taxes. Like nothing has ever happened when he doesn’t pay bills. Like nothing happened when he discriminated against renters decades ago. Sadly, I’m guessing nothing at all will happen, but I’m open to being wrong on that. |

Whether or not this is true who knows, the debt was unreported by Trump when he took office, it does seem to have disappeared.
